Hello Zero Beaters,

This months meeting will be held at the Washington Library at 7pm on Wednesday, March 1.

There will be an abbreviated business meeting from 7:00 to 7:15 pm. After the business meeting we will have an hour long zoom presentation by John Portune, W6NBC. John is a retired broadcast engineer, has written articles for QST and presents many talks on various amateur radio topics.

John's presentation is on baluns and ununs. Many hams would like to learn how to select a torroid and wind it to make a 1:1, 4:1 or 9:1 balun or unun. The well-know radio books all seem confusing.
This presentation shows the three very easy steps to successful ferrite toroid design with very little math and a free on-line calculator.

Hope to see you there!
73, Al, KA0VIA

Re: tape measure Yagi antenna build project

Just want to thank Mark and Al for sponsoring this club project.? I think everything went well and the turn out was great.? From the clubhouse, my antenna was able to get the roger beep from Sullivan's 146.805 repeater and have a full quieting conversation with K1SHE on Potosi's 146.835, or was it Hillsboro's 147.075.

I also want to thank Craig and Bruce-N0XNH, Craig for assisting me with my build and getting me a step closer to working HF and Bruce for sending me plans for a 10m antenna, if he remembers to ;)
