I don't know what PEX costs, but PVC with primer and adhesive should be rather affordable. I suggest we repair the leaks with PVC and couplers, and then pay very close attention to prepping for freezing conditions.? It doesn't take long
to winterize the water system. I have already donated the pink RV antifreeze which is located just inside the mudroom door. All anyone needs to do is ask for help. I have winterized the system in the past. I also suggest that we get a replacement water filter
to catch leaves and sediment outdoors BEFORE it gets to the pump and tank. Craig had already donated one, but it got used to replace the frozen one. The original installation had a filter AFTER the pressure tank and serves little purpose. I'll be there to

Replacing the frozen break with PEX in my opinion is silly. If the entire building was plumbed in PEX that would be different. Regardless of the piping, the pump and pressure tank MUST BE DRAINED annually and flushed with antifreeze to keep from breaking the impellers or splitting the tank. Fix it cheap and MAINTAIN it. This is toilet water for flushing, not potable water.?
