2023 Christmas dinner survey

Everyone,

?After last nights February meeting, several of us were talking about the Christmas dinner for 2023 and decided instead of waiting until the March meeting to discuss it I would send out a survey for the 2023 Christmas dinner location so maybe we can schedule it for the first Sunday in December as has been done in the past.

?We have come up with two choices; the first is The Creek, where we had it this past January, the second is Colton's Steak House in Washington.

?The Creek does not charge for the room and we would have to order from the catering menu like we did last time. That is we have a few choices for each of these items, salad, meat/fish and vegetable. You get to pick one salad and two each from the meat/fish and vegetable items.

?Colton's does not charge for the room and we would be able to order off the regular menu. If you've been to Colton's, they would seat us in the area to the left (east side) of the building.

?Let me know what you think and I will contact whoever we pick and see if that would be available. The sooner we contact them, the better chance we have of getting it the first Sunday in December.

Bruce N0XNH

tape measure Yagi antenna build project

Hello ZBARC members,

During the February 1 meeting six members signed-up for the antenna build project. The antenna to be built will be a yagi that can be used for fox hunting and other amateur uses.
If you did not sign up at the meeting on February 1 then please respond to this email and let me know if you want to build an antenna with the group.
I will wait a few days for additional sign-ups then I will move forward with purchasing the material. See the attachment for a drawing of the antenna.
The antenna build will take place on Sunday afternoon Feb 19 at the club house.

Thanks and 73!, Al J, KA0VIA

Re: 240 machine

I don¡¯t think so Craig. It¡¯s been low power for awhile now I can¡¯t raise the 24 from anywhere in St Clair and it¡¯s scratchy low signal strength even in Union.

Amazon to focus its philanthropic giving to programs with greater impact.

Dear charitable organization,

In 2013, we launched AmazonSmile to make it easier for customers to support their favorite charities. We were excited about the potential for the program and the impact it could have for many charitable organizations. We want to thank you for your partnership during all these years.

After almost a decade of running AmazonSmile, we learned that with so many eligible organizations¡ªmore than 1 million globally¡ªour ability to have an impact was often spread too thin.

Over the past few years, we¡¯ve seen that Amazon can have a more significant and lasting impact if we invest in specific areas and focus our philanthropic efforts in the communities where our employees live and work. We¡¯ve started to see the benefits of a more focused approach with our investments in programs like and our in our hometown communities through the Amazon Housing Equity Fund¡ªand we will continue to pursue and invest in other areas where we¡¯ve seen we can make meaningful change.

We are writing to let you know that we have made plans to wind down AmazonSmile by February 20, 2023. Until this date, customer purchases made via AmazonSmile will continue to accrue funds for your charity as normal. To help nonprofits like you plan ahead, we will also provide you with a one-time payment equivalent to three months of payments based on what you accrued in 2022 through this program. The timing of this final payment will be approximately 60 to 90 days after February 20, 2023. We hope that this will help minimize the impact that this decision might have.

You will be able to continue asking for the support from Amazon customers in other ways, like creating your

We will keep supporting thousands of charities across the U.S. in many ways, and focus on the areas we believe can help create an even greater impact. Our long-term commitment to our communities remains the same: We are determined to help create a better world for our customers, our employees, and the communities we serve across the country.

Thank you,
AmazonSmile Team
