Hi Dan,?
?
I'm down in NC, so that show would be bit of a haul for me. But you should contact the DC Z-Bend Track club. They are a Z-Bend modular group. Get ahold of Randy Smidt, randy@...

I am a member of the RMR? and was wondering if there is interest in setting up a small Z-scale layout at our December 9-10, 2023 model train show at the Eagles Lodge in Fredericksburg, VA???
Recently I was given a box of Marklin Z-scale trains and track and this group is my only contact with the Z-scale model train world.? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Attached are photos of a very portable Z scale layout that I take to train shows.? It allows me to run 2 trains continuously.? It was put together with some old Marklin track and turnouts I had.? It is less than 4' wide and has plexiglas panels to thwart little
fingers.? The kids love to see the train go through the tunnel.? This is pretty crude and was built in a couple of days, although I've gussied it up a little (e.g., planted a cornfield) over time.? I try to keep it local with a Hunt container in a stack car
on the train and a Walmart truck I made on the highway. ?

Re: First Modules As Z-BendTrack standard from Finland
The Norway Zmod group has many modules that are somewhat compatible with the ZBT, although just 1/2 deep (front to back). The 2 tracks are same along the front and another of the module could be placed behind, looking like ZBT.
This 25 year old Z-Bend Track has not really be used for a long time. They are almost exclusively use by local groups. Many are just building what they want, especially smaller, more portable or ‘home’ use, like?T-Trak. (??)
This is why you do not see may posts on this sight.
Trainboard has a much more content and world-wide users.
Trainini is an international magazine (free) published in Germany (in English) world wide contribution.

Since there haven't been any posts to this forum for a couple of years, has everyone migrated to some other forum?? Modular Z-scale layouts still seem to be present at the National train shows, but finding any information on them, or the people/groups who put them together, seems to be difficult.
Where are you located? I can try to put you in touch with somebody close by.

It has been a long time since this forum has been used. I am seeing who is still out there. I have been recently working on the Z-Bend standards, especially with the use of sectional track. I think it is time the 2004 standards are updated to reflect the new options of track on the market. I am looking for a few folks to work with me to review and update the standards. Anyone interested? Let me know!

? ? ?I just started a subscription to Railroad Model Craftsman and received the first issue a week ago.? I will be looking forward to seeing the magazines as I bought many used copies of Model Railroad at the Huntington Beach Friends of the Library and always find something interesting in them.
? ? ?I will put the check in the mail tomorrow and there is no hurry about getting the cables as I am a long way from hooking up the wiring.? I am using a resistance soldering unit to make a double bascule bridge for my new Z-Bend type module.
