She had offended him. She was sure of it. Mikayla nibbled her bottom lip. She didn¡¯t mean to offend him. It just scared her to think that maybe he... that when he said hunt... that he was talking about...
Sighing Mikayla went back to cleaning his room. She at least wanted to do that right. Humming a soft tune she went back to setting items to right. And she would ask Angus what she could do to ease the offense.
(The Dragon, Angus)
Angus came into the room as Mikayla was trying to clean up and restore some order, at least to the pieces of furniture that had not been broken.? He sighed heavily and began helping out, clearing away the pieces that were too damaged to set up again.? "I heard the noise, mistress. From the other side of the keep.? I came as quickly as I could but..." The man looked around the room, then back to Mikayla "...but apparently the master has flown off." He hesitated, then asked cautiously "Do you know what upset him, by chance?"
Away from the keep, the Dragon circled high over the mountain, his eyes alert for potential prey.? But his mind was more than a bit distracted.? It shouldn't have been surprising that the girl would think that of him.? Her anxious half-queries still stung though.? And the look in her eyes as well.? He wished he could tell her the truth.? But how could he tell her what he couldn't remember?? The Dragon growled in frustration, swooping low over an open meadow, but the wild goats there scattered quickly into the trees.? The fact that he couldn't remember killing anyone didn't mean that he hadn't killed anyone.? There were blank places in his memories, particularly when the spirit of the old dragon was upon him.? All he knew was that when the blanking episode ended, a girl was gone, never to be seen again.? If he told Mikayla that...
He landed on a rocky outcropping overlooking a stream, willing himself to motionless silence.? Eventually, a large stag emerged from the trees and moved cautiously to the water.? When it lowered its head to drink, the Dragon launched itself at its prey, striking with outstretched talons before it could even begin to flee.? Hungry, he began tearing into the beast's flesh, relishing in the freshness of it.? He would find something else for Mikayla later.

Mikayla turned to Angus and sighed. "No, I do not know what upset him enough to do this, but I know I just deep offended him I asked if he was going to hunt for people..." she buried her face in her hands. "I know. I know. It was stupid of me to say. But I grew up with the stories...but I have been now long enough to know that those are just stories...I can't believe I said that to him."
For long moments, Mikayla held her head in her hands before she sighed. "I will need to clean this up good and right to make up for my blunder. I suppose I should get dress. Considering I am going to be here for awhile." she sighed again. "Will you mind making a large pot of tea, that way it will be ready for the Master when he returns oh and Angus, please stop calling Mistress. I am servant here just like you. Mikayla will do fine."?

(The Dragon, Angus)
Angus was arranging the tea service on the tray when the Dragon landed on the terrace just outside the dining area, depositing two freshly-killed rams and a large bullock on the paving stones.??
"There," the Dragon rumbled, stalking over to the water trough at the terrace edge where he paused to wash his mouth and his talons. "That should keep you busy for a day or two." Noticing the tea service, he raised a ridged eyebrow in inquiry. "She's still here?"
"Yes, master," Angus replied, placing a fresh pot of honey on the tray, "the girl is still here. Were you seriously expecting her to flee? After everything she's done to prove herself to you?" The servant picked up the tray and faced the Dragon, giving his reptilian overlord a disapproving look. "If you think you can behave yourself, perhaps you can join her. But I think your fangs could use another rinsing. And your talons."
?
A short time later, the Dragon followed Angus up the stairs to the study where Mikayla was still trying to set things aright. Remembering her instructions to not call her 'mistress', the man bowed as he entered, "The Master will be joining you for tea, Mikayla. I hope that is acceptable." Setting the tray on the end of a table that the girl had halfway cleared. "I will tend to the cleaning up while you relax. And _talk_," he added, eyeing his master sternly.
The Dragon spared Angus a smoky snort, then came the rest of the way into the chamber. He hesitated, finding it difficult to face Mikayla directly, then finally rumbled "I brought meat back. Bullock and ram," he went on, added a grumpily rasping "not human" at the end.??

Mikayla?
Mikayla found righting everything the Dragon had laid waste too just as difficult as she thought it would be. Everything in his domain was oversized and oversized was hard to lift. She had just properly stacked books back on the shelf when she heard Angus behind her. ¡°I think that looks almost normal what do you think?¡± She said as she turned to face the man.
It was then that she saw the tea and the Dragon. Mikayla Nodded her hellos to the Dragon but then smiled at Angus. ¡°Oh thank you Angus. You shouldn¡¯t have. This was ever so kind.¡±
she was just about to ask if he was going to join her when she heard him say, he was going to clean as both she and the Dragon ¡°relaxed¡±. She gave an apprehensive look over to Angus but then nodded when she saw his reassuring one.?
Turning to the dragon, she was about to say thank you when she heard his dig about people and blushed. She didn¡¯t say anything, just moved to sit at the table. He was still angry.

This was ever so kind.” She was just about to ask if he was going to join her when she heard him say, he was going to clean as both she and the Dragon “relaxed”. She gave an apprehensive look over to Angus but then nodded when she saw his reassuring one. Turning to the dragon, she was about to say thank you when she heard his dig about people and blushed. Before leaving, Angus filled a cup for Mikayla and set it before her, leaving the tray within easy reach so she could add whatever she wished to suit her taste. He also brought out the dragon-sized cup, saucer and spoon that Mikayla had magically crafted earlier on a separate cart, leaving it within the dragon's reach. He then turned away discreetly and attended to cleaning up a different part of the room, far enough away to allow them some privacy.
The Dragon sat back on his haunches, picked up the teacup in one claw and began stirring it with the spoon in the other, frowning as he did so.
"I never did thank you, did I? For this?" he said suddenly, his deep voice sending a rumble through the stone floor. He continued to stare at his tea, not looking up. "At least, certainly not enough." Setting the spoon down, he took a long sip from the cup. "This... this reminds me that I was human. That part of me still is, inside at least. I forget that sometimes." He looked over the rim of the cup, his eyes meeting Mikayla's for the first time. "I ask your forgiveness."

- Mikayla - Mikayla was quiet while Angus set up tea. She had already said enough to him. Enough that angered him and sent him on a nice tear. The problem was she couldn¡¯t remember what she had done or said...Other than the cow/people comment that is, but it was something.
¡°There is no need for forgiveness,¡± Mikayla began as she slid the tray to her so that she could add sugar and honey. ¡°We are still learn each other. I¡¯m sure once the awkwardness fades we settle quite nicely.¡± She said picking up her own tea cup.
¡°And don¡¯t thank me just yet. I am quite bossy and i have several plans to make quite a bit of changes to this place,¡± she said with a teasing smile over the rim of her cup¡±

What that must be like, to remember to that he was once human but to not know how to get back to being that which he longed. She wanted to help him.
