Del winced at the memory. "Tomas just looked at me like I was insane," she sighed.? " 'There's no such thing as safe. Not for people like us,' he said.? 'Haven't you figured that out by now?'? Then he just turned and walked away.? I have to confess, the way he said it rather shook me.? It made me wonder if maybe we're just fooling ourselves."? She looked at Mia apologetically.? "I know he's wrong, but there are moments when I have my doubts."

"But you're right.? He shouldn't be hanging around hospitals, even if he does seem to be helping some people." Del shook herself to clear her mind.? "Let's go meet with Gen before I tell you about the third student.? I could use some distraction."

The two Deans left their office and headed to the student store. Mia figured it was the first place to look and see if Gen and Akira were there. If they hadn't made it, yet, then they were still in the cafeteria. If they had come and gone, then they would try the dorm rooms. The were sure to find them by the end of the day.
