Making a Selection (Victoria, Vincent, Colin)

“A rival house,” Tori repeated. “that says a lot without saying much. he wants to be ruler.” She said that she got off her knees and stood to walk over to the desk.

“Do we want that. Do we really want to have someone who we considered a rival to have that kind of power? ?to be Prince of the city? And if they need us in our finances then couldn’t we just stage a coup as opposed to joining with them. Just something to consider."

she stoped at the desk picking up the binder. She handed the black leather over to her father. ?

“if you would like to flip through the pages, you will see a brief summary of each of the girls. I can give you a little bit more insight into their personality based on what I have found. in the meantime what can you tell me a bit more regards to who our selection will be marrying? name, age, rank in the family, ?preferences?”

Making both our houses stronger. They have been a rival house with ours in terms of financials and businesses." He took the book and started looking through it.

"The marriage is for the oldest son. His name is Marcell. He will one day be head of the house of Gerard. As for his preferences...well, not too sure. His father didn't really say. We have been keeping an eye on him, but he seems to be a bit of a player at the moment."

Tori sat down in a chair, thoughtfully. “A bit of a player, but his father wants him to settle down. Based on all you are saying, I don’t imagine that this betrothal will be a love match but more a match of convenience. without knowing his type, we will need to find someone who we all consider to be universally beautiful. Someone who is open to the potential of a loveless marriage and who is coachable. Someone who understands that they will need to be turned and looks at this as an adventure. Someone who is open to the possibility of children. someone who understands etiquette and decorum since they’ll be marrying into Noble house. You definitely have made it so that we have our work cut out for us, Father, but I have no doubt Colin and I will succeed in the endeavor.

From there we can pick two and you and mother can decide which one of the two you would like to go with. Or you can just present the two to the Gerard family and let them choose which one they want to marry off to their son.”

She looked at her brother then. “what do you think Colin. you traverse these circles, you know and are familiar with these type… if not are one yourself,” she said, teasing her brother. What do you think is the best way to go?”

Vincent began looking through the book. He put a little mark by the ones he found attractive and that he thought would be the best fit for the task at hand. Soon he had a dozen chosen. "Well, now we need to dwindle them down to you suggested five?"

Colin gave his sister and small nudge when she said something about him being a bit of a player, "am not...at the moment. I have a girlfriend...I should go and see her soon. But I think once we narrow down the choice to two, we let the Gerard's decide which one....before she is turned." He suggested.

Turning back to her father, Victoria said. “ i agree with Colin, Father. You and mother can pick the five girls. Once your selection have been made, I will Personally deliver ?the portfolio over to the Gerards and then they can decide which one they want. Let’s say You and mother make a decision within the next two weeks I can have it to the end of the month?”
