Port Vega: A Private Reunion (Gen, Kites)
(Kites) Kites was glad that Mia was receptive having realized that he has been a bit cold towards her, not just today, but before also.? They can hash out their feelings later though.? Right now, more than anything, everyone needed some comfort, maybe even space to process things.? No one was prepared for this, not even Brandon who so stoically held in his emotions.? It didn't help that that he now became the defacto leader.? The level of pressure that was suddenly placed on Brandon's shoulders was not something that Kites could even begin to sympathize with.? But that was not something he wanted to think about.? Macamber said that they could go, so Kites twined his hand with Gen's and pulled her to him as they headed out of the conference room. ? "Thank you, Ms. Macamber," the winged youth said to the security lady, but just before the door shut behind them, Kites froze when he heard her mention Raine.? It couldn't be, could it?? How many Raine's were there at this place?? He only knew of one, the man who was gracious enough to advise Kites in his moment of need.? Could they be the same person?? The Raine he knew didn't mention anything about a brother.? Then again, he knew nothing about this stranger who just so happened to be on the roof same as him.? Curious, but not something that he felt was so urgent to take his attention away from Gen. ? When they got to the communal space, Kites pulled Gen into his embrace as he held her to his chest, then spread his wings and flew up to the second floor, pressing on the door panel which recognized him and opened the door.? Once inside, he carried her to the bed and gently laid her down, placing pillows behind her back and neck for support. ? "Can I get you anything?? Would you like some tea, juice or water?? Perhaps a sandwich or two?" Kites asked as he sat down on the edge of the bed, his hand going up to move a few stray hairs off of Gen's face, then cradled her cheek, his thumb idly rubbing over her cheek.? "If you prefer, you could just sleep and I can busy myself with something else...? Unless you want me beside you that is..."? His cheeks flushed, though he no intention of suggesting anything remotely beyond just comfort cuddling. (Gen) "Actually..." Gen said, thinking about it for the first time since she'd been brought back from the lighthouse, "actually I'm starving.? Absolutely starving."? She said without even a hint that she was joking - she could feel her body demanding nourishment and nutrients, threatening to rebel if she didn't listen.? The androgyne looked to Kites in total seriousness.? "Food now, please.? Whatever you've got and however much you've got.? After that.." she hesitated, then reached up to touch the winged youth's cheek "...some sleep.? But I'd like you next to me.? If you don't mind, that is."? Her face was in turmoil as conflicting emotions seemed to play behind her eyes.? "I really don't want to be alone right now." Tag - Kites |
(Gen)
[Kites] "Of course I want to stay by you.? You don't even need to ask twice," Kites replied, taking the hand that glided over his cheek and brought it to his lips, kissing every fingertip as he smiled.? "Food, I can do.? Just hang on, okay?? I'll make you something yummy." With that, Kites stood up as he let Gen go and then walked into the little kitchenette, standing behind the bar that separated it from the rest of the living space, yet still provided a wide view of it.? Opening the fridge and cupboards, he took out all of the ingredients needed to make the androgyne something to eat.? Some 30 minutes later, he brought out a couple of TV trays and set them by the bed, then filled the surface with several plates worth of sandwiches, deli meats, cheeses and other garnishments, things that could be used as finger foods and a large cup with juice alongside a carton in case she'd like more. "I'm not exactly a cook, but I hope this is enough.? What would you like first?" Kites asked, taking his place on the edge of the bed beside her.? He stretched his hand out to her in case she wanted some help sitting up.? He couldn't help but feel the corners of his mouth twitch into a sly smile.? "I could always feed, if you prefer." (Gen) "Everything!" Gen growled, digging into the plates set before her without hesitation.? She was ravenous, eating with her hands, scarfing down slices of meats and cheese before pausing long enough to bother making them into a sandwich.? When she did make a sandwich, she took three of Kites' premade ones and pressed them into one so thick she could barely get her hands around it. The androgyne only paused to drain the cup of orange juice, afterwards drinking straight from the carton. "If you tried... to feed me... right now," she managed to get out with a smirk while continuing to devour everything she could get her hands on, "you'd probably lose a finger." Gen managed to completely clear three plates and was halfway through a fourth when she finally slowed and eventually stopped, her initial pangs of overwhelming hunger finally sated. "Thank you, Kites," she murmured sleepily.? The androgyne smiled at the winged youth as she curled up along his side.? The nervous exhaustion and lack of sleep were also catching up with her.? She glanced at the array of empty plates and scattered bits of food, but then just closed her eyes and snuggled up closer to Kites'?nice warm body, mumbling "Sorry about the mess..."? And then she was out. Tag - Kites |

[Kites] Kites wasn't sure if he should be impressed or horrified at how quickly Gen vacuumed up all the food.? Every single plate was emptied down to the bare crumbs, the carton of juice completely sucked dry.? Considering her abilities though, maybe that is normal after the androgyne exhausted all their energy reserves.? Maybe it was the stress.? The last week didn't exactly end on a positive note.? It was followed by even worse news.? Chord, Harrison, AND Ireland were dead.? Somehow it didn't seem to compute.? How could the three most important people of this company just disappear like that?? Something didn't smell right about this.? What are the odds of something like this just occuring? "That's okay, Gen.? Just sleep.? I'll be right here," Kites said, bending over to give her a kiss on the cheek, wrapping his wing around her.? His heart wouldn't stop hammering against his ribs though.? Something inside him pulled him towards contacting Raine, but he wondered if that would be allowed.? Surely the company would know about the news of their boss's deaths.? He wouldn't get in trouble for doing that, right?? Biting his lower lip, Kites turned to look at Gen peacefully sleeping by his side.? He promised her that he would be by her side, so he couldn't just leave and make a call through his watch.? Nor could he or would he make one when she was resting, wanting nothing more than to be within the safety and comfort of his being. So he did the only thing he could.? Tapping on the face of his watch, Kites scrolled through to his contacts, then chose Raine's name and tapped on it, opening up an SMS window.? He began to quiet type on it, fingers gliding over the glossy screen.? "Raine, I don't know if you heard the news.? Chord is dead.? So are Harrison and Ireland.? Investigation underway.? Do you have some time to meet up?? Feeling very conflicted."? Then he hit send and laid back down.? He laid there for a while, just listening to Gen's breathing, all the little minute twitches that she made.? Perhaps she was replaying that day's events, feeling like all of it was her fault.? At time she moaned out, breathing heavily, pained.? So Kites turned to his side, pulling her into his arms he pressed her against his chest, keeping her close.? That seemed to provide some comfort as she seemed to quiet down.? Eventually he felt his eyelids getting heavy himself, drifting off. [tag Gen] |

Uh well...*scratches head* it¡¯s not Gen who said so. ?It¡¯s Kites. ?He doesn¡¯t know that Raine is related so...how does that make him an asshole? ?He only knows that Raine is an employee which is how he presented himself as... That seemed to provide some comfort as she seemed to quiet down.? Eventually he felt his eyelids getting heavy himself, drifting off. (Gen) Gen was dreaming.? Or was she really just remembering while asleep?? It was hard to know.? It was as if she was in a memory but had the freedom to move around within that memory, and to focus in on details.? And to block out anything threatening to overwhelm her, like the sudden and simultaneous deaths of three people she'd known.? Right now, there was something she was looking for, something she needed to find.? But what? Following her instincts, the androgyne began moving from memory to memory, starting with the phone call.? Hearing the helicopter approach.? Sighting it through the window.? Voices and sounds from the phone and from outside.? The explosion.? Pieces falling into the harbor.? Her leaping out and down, into the water.? Searching... searching... finding nothing but death.? Her coming back to the surface, onto the island. She stopped, frowning in her sleep.? She'd missed something.? Something she'd noticed before, when it was all happening.? She moved backwards, rewinding until she was back in the water.? In the water.? Something in the water.? Something she'd seen?? No.? Not seen.? Tasted.? Not with her tongue though.? With her gills. Something chemical then.? Something that wasn't supposed to be there. Her body was designed to remember traces of everything she ingested, through eating, drinking or breathing.? She began sorting through what she had detected, dismissing the obvious things like the harbor water's normal pollutants, biological detritus, chemicals that connected to the expected debris from a helicopter. Finally she had it.? She didn't know what it was - only that it wasn't something she could put into a dismissible?category.? And that it wasn't supposed to be there.? She tucked it into a bit of memory that she could access when she was fully awake again. In the meantime, her body was making use of all the calories and nutrients she'd consumed, causing her temperature to rise slightly as she finished repairing and replenishing herself.? Her skin became warm all over, particularly where she was nestled against Kites.? Remembering how nice skin on skin had felt before, the androgyne began slipping out of her clothes until she was? snuggled up naked against the winged youth.? The familiar male scent Kites was giving off triggered her body to shift into what it remembered, and soon Gen was in full male mode once again. Still half-asleep, Gen wondered what was happening to him.? It seemed inappropriate from what he'd been told in his lessons on human behavior back in the lab.? But at the same time he wondered if this was just more of his body trying to recover from the traumas he'd been through.? He'd read in some books where desire for physical closeness was a natural reaction in many cases.? At any rate, it felt too nice to pull away, so he just rested his head against the other boy's shoulder and let himself drift off once again.?? Tag - Kites |
(Gen)
[Kites] Kites didn't wake up until the sun began to set, bathing the room in an array of reds, oranges, and yellows.? He would've been asleep still had it not been something that kept lighting up his eyelids, constantly moving over his face until he was roused from bed, feeling strangely disoriented and dizzy.? Maybe the stress that he'd felt from earlier just hit him now even though he's been resting for multiple hours.? Rubbing his eyes in an effort to throw off the sands of sleep, the winged youth yawned, stretching until his arms fell back on something quite soft and very naked and no longer female "What the...Gen?!? When did you change?? Wh-why are you undressed?" Kites exclaimed having been startled, but the androgyne barely shifted, mumbling something in his sleep.? Though it didn't make sense why Gen had shifted into male mode, the severe lack of clothing was becoming more apparent.? The androgyne's body was warm, very warm.? Almost as hot as it was when they had tumbled in bed, going as far as third base but no further.? But that was then and this is now.? Kites's temperature always ran higher as a result of his bird genes, his feathers adding to the body warmth and making him naturally resistant to the cold, but he didn't know whether Gen had the same abilities.? For all he knew, Gen was feverish so he decided to take action. Drawing Gen close to his chest, Kites slowly, carefully raised him into his arms and then got off the bed, using his foot to unpeel the blankets and then laid him back down.? He rolled the comforters back up to the androgyne's chest, making sure he was comfortable, then went to raid the medicine cabinet in the bathroom.? There was some general medicine, fever reducers and such, but it didn't feel right shoving pills down Gen's throat.? Suddenly, his eyes fell on some cooling patches, much like the ones that butler...what was his name again?? Whatever it was, when Kites used it, he not only felt like it brought his temperature down, but it also had an interesting healing effect.? So taking one of them and peeling the sterile backing, the winged youth applied to Gen's forehead, then bent down and kissed his nose. "Don't worry, I will take care of you, okay?" Kites whispered, pulling away.? He gently rubbed the androgyne's face, his thumbs tracing idle circle on Gen's cheeks, coming back to kiss his lips when he stomach loudly growled.? Mood broken, Kites sighed, furrowing his brows.? Very quickly, the hunger pangs set in, recalling that he hasn't had a single bite since that morning, having made all the food for Gen.? So he decided to remedy that and decided to go into the kitchenette, quietly making something to eat, something heavily meaty, taking a peek at Gen every now and then to make sure the androgyne was okay.
