Re: Port Vega: Up On the Roof (Harrison, Mia, Ireland, open)

(Old Mia: Will remove on next post.? Left so that we have a starting point for this part of the thread.)

Mia felt the sudden shift in the room from those around her after she spoke.? They would never accept her fully as one of theirs since she didn¡¯t have a flirty affair going on with anyone.? She did find Ireland attractive and even tried flirty with her on the roof a couple nights earlier, but the woman didn¡¯t seem receptive.

?

Then Mr. Chord said something about disbanding the project all together.? She knew they had failed, but really that badly.? She overheard Gen¡¯s comment about being perfect, ¡°I am far from perfect.¡±? She said in response as Ms. Harrison and Mr. Chord left the room and she was handed an envelope.? She got up from the table and went to a window away from everyone else and opened the envelope.? Simply said, ¡°Meet me on the roof, please.? Ms. H¡±? Mia wondered what she had done to impress the woman who only a few days ago had more or less told her she could leave.

?

She turned to the group as she folded the note and slipped it into her pocket, ¡°Well, it seems that you all clearly don¡¯t like me for whatever reason.? So, I am just going to say my goodbyes, thank you, and good luck.¡±? With that she left the conference room and headed for the elevator.? She just didn¡¯t understand why she never fit in anywhere and she was tired of trying when others wouldn¡¯t take the time to get to know her.

(Ireland)

Ireland wasn¡¯t at all surprised what happened next.?Brandon and his punk ass only made things worse. Even in this moment he has a chance to be a leader and he blew it. Running away for invoking all the sympathy he needed and making things worse...setting the rest of them off.??Now Kat was crying, Gen was getting catty with his comments and Kites was pushing the rest of them away.

Gaw...Ireland tried really hard not to roll her eyes at the level of melodrama that was playing out before her. These people had known each for all of what...36 whole hours and they were acting like the had been friends since birth and Chord and Harry had just cruelly ripped them apart and sent then out to the wolves...not just told them to go home.

Surely they knew It was possible for life any friendship and budding relationships for them to continue to exist beyond any ideas that MC3 had plan for them.?They must all be really young...and virgins...otherwise she had no understanding why they would all act this...this...dramatic. Because this was just too much for her.?

She kept her face and body language unreadable as the scene unfolded before her. She was even good and didn¡¯t laugh in Gen¡¯s face when he looked at she and Mia in disgust...and spat out his words towards them.?

Out of all of them, he was the one who was hard to take... she was so wrong about him. The other day, when he helped her out with that jerk, He seemed so cool and sweet and nice....Even Frankie like him And Frankie never liked anyone.?She wanted to get to know him more...

But now...after hooking up with that Kites guy...he wasn't the same guy. He was now catty, disrespectful and rude...he had turned into a mean girl...just like Kites. And Ireland didn¡¯t do mean girls.?

When Mia said what she said and walk out. Ireland felt bad for her. Mia had just openly expressed just how much they made her feel left out. She?wondered if any of them would care.?They had their cliques and dicks...and Mia wasn't a part of that before...that was obvious yesterday and now since she had proven herself as free independent thinker...it was probably even more so for this group now.

¡°Thanks Gen. The way you just spat those words out, the look of disgust in your eyes as you looked at me and Mia while you said, made it oh so believable.¡± She said standing up.?Ireland moved to the door, ?¡°The other day when I meet you...When you helped me with that jerk. I thought you were so cool. Right now...in this moment...not so much.¡±

¡°It was nice to meet you Kat. Since you and Brandon are now a thing, I¡¯ll probably see you again. Hey Mia, wait up.¡± She said leaving the room. She caught with Mia at the elevator.

¡°Hey...you okay?¡± Ireland asked

(New Mia)
Mia was waiting for the doors to open when she heard Ireland behind her before she spoke.? "Yep, I am.? Used to being on my own, no worries there.? How about you?? That was kind of shocking.? Wonder why Mr. Chord decided to simply give up on the program?"

The doors opened and Mia stepped inside the elevator and pressed the hold open button, "I am on my way to meet Ms. Harrison.? You want to come?"? She asked the red head with a smile.

(Gen)

Gen nodded to what Kites said, happy to hear that the winged youth's sentiments mirrored his own. He wanted to give Kites a supportive kiss or hug when he sat back down, but contented himself with a smile and a playful shoulder nudge, not wanting to risk even more disapproval from Chord or anyone else.

?

He then listened to Mia say her piece, then glowered at the water controller as she sat down.? "I said I was sorry," he muttered, digging back into his food and stuffing his face angrily. "We can't _all_ be perfect."

?

The androgyne wasn't prepared though for what came next, nearly choking on his food when Chord announced that he was disbanding the project and that they were on their own as of this morning. Then Ireland seeming to echo him in blaming everyone but Mia for this.? And then Harrison handing an envelope to Mia as she and Chord left the room.

Gen felt sorry for Brandon as the man gave Ireland an injured look and a quiet "thank you" and then headed for the doors.? "It wasn't your fault!" he called out as the dejected man left the room, adding "Not all of it anyway" quietly to himself.

?

"Me too," Gen said when Kat announced her intentions. Impulsively, the androgyne got up and went to the cat girl and hugged her tightly.? "I don't want to lose you either," he said holding her close, his voice choking a bit with emotion.? "Not any of you," he went on, glancing back at Kites with longing. His expression glowered a bit when he added "Not even you two" looking at Mia and Ireland.

?

"The same goes for me too," he said finally, reluctantly releasing Kat and stepping back.? "I'm going back to my old place, and if anyone needs a place to stay, it's got plenty of room." He chewed his lip a bit, looking a little embarrassed.? "It doesn't have electricity or running water.? And you have to fly or swim or have a boat to get there. But it does have a great view of the harbor and the city skyline," he added, grinning weakly.? "Anyway, you're all welcome."

The androgyne hesitated, then walked up to Kites and hugged him impulsively.? "Come with me," he said softly, looking up into the taller youth's eyes.? "I'll take care of you. It won't be as fancy or comfortable as this place, but at least we won't have to worry about pleasing anyone else."

?

(Kites)

I hope that you won't give up on us either...? These words echoed in Kites' mind far after Chord voiced his desire to disband the program, thanking them all of their honest thoughts.? He was completely stunned at what just transpired and in utter disbelief that this was it.? That they have failed to such a high degree that the company decided all these fledglings were not worth their time.? Sitting at the table without a single twitch or move, his eyes unfocused and stared into the distance, letting everything fade into the background as his ears closed off to the outside, everyone sounding as if they were in slow motion and had cotton stuffed into their mouths.? Heart and mind warred within his body, emotions arguing with logic, trying to process everything from start to finish, to make sense of all this chaos.

?

A part of him had agreed with what Mia said, hating that he was admitting this to himself.? She had cut through the bullshit like she was parting water, precisely pointing out where and how everyone failed, making sure to single Gen out as a major pain point.? It made him feel angry, not just because he felt protective over the beautiful androgyne.? The way Mia spoke just felt so cold and unfeeling, very matter-of-fact that they all failed because of their inadequacies and she was the only one who was prim and proper.? Sure, she was the most mature out of all of them but all it did was make her seem uppity.? Add to their already hurting egos, Ireland also made her disdain clearly known as she spoke about her disappointment with them.? She who couldn't handle her own feathers being ruffled, expecting a total stranger to have known her weakness and walk on eggshells around it, well, this just further solidified his dislike of her and her presence.? It made his skin crawl, but it wasn't till Kat said something, turning to leave, and Gen's soft voice bringing him back from the edge, that he suddenly came to and broke out of the stupor in which he was in.

?

"What?? Wait, Kat, no...please stay," Kites pleaded, suddenly jumping up from his seat as the chair fell to the floor with a loud bang.? He reached out for her hand but suddenly hesitated, stepping back.? He stood in the middle of the room, his hands balling up into fists.? Just as there was a side of him that agreed with the fiery redhead, there was another part that was decidedly unaccepting of this conclusion and the more he thought about it, the more he became incensed.? No...no...no, he was not leaving.? _They_ were not leaving.? Not Kat, not Gen, not him.? Chord.? He needed to talk to Chord, but not now and certainly not in the enraged state of mind that he was in.? Not if he wanted to deal with this calmly and logically.? He needed to get away, he thought, just as the androgyne approached him and enveloped him in a hug.

?

"No," he sharply said, looking directly at Gen and at the same time through him, as if he was still lost in his own thoughts again.? When he realized how angrily he addressed his lover, he softened a bit.? "No, I...I need...I need time to think.? Sorry."? He returned the shorter boy's hug, but it was stiff, awkward and cold, especially with Mia and Ireland watching.? As much as he wanted to admit that he didn¡¯t give a flying fuck about them, he didn¡¯t want their fraternizing to be yet another point of contention.? Gripping Gen by both shoulders, he somewhat roughly?pushed him away and turned to head out towards the elevators.? It wasn't till later that he realized his fingers were digging into the palms of his hands, producing red, angry welts in his skin.? Whatever, it didn't matter anyway.? His feet took him past the training room, past the elevators, past whatever else this place held behind each wall, till he stood in front of the glass doors that led out into the city.? Hesitating for just a second, he decided to step out and as he did, he was hit with the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolis, myriads of sights and sound that assaulted all his senses.? Without a further ado, he disappeared into a nearby alley and took to the skies, wings beating harshly to lift him higher and higher, not stopping till he had cleared all of the towering skyscrapers.

?

As he soared on the rising hot pockets of air, he closed his eyes, spreading his arms wide as he let the air envelop him in its warm embrace, closing his eyes.? Here, there were no expectations, no sense of failure or disappointment.? No, here was just the sky, the wind that gently ruffled his feathers, and the serenity that he so sorely lacked these days.? Some time had passed before he floated down, alighting with the roof of Chord's company building and found a bench upon which he sat, letting his wings droop as he pensively watched the city skyline. ?Going over his own actions, he suddenly realized how hurt Gen looked when he pushed him away that he felt like an idiot, bringing his hands up to his face and then screamed in frustration. ?He continued sitting there for a while, head supported in his hands, elbows on knees as he tried to calm himself down.

?

(Brandon)

He would pack after he got his answer.? He could only assume that Mia was their choice in co-leader along with Ireland which was fine he realize Mia had the right idea.? He just didn't think it was right or fair to over tax them on the first day.? But deep down it made sense...if they were in a situation...the villains weren't going to pull their punches cause they didn't know what to do cause they weren't prepared so what did he expect?? Seeing Ireland look at him as she did, didn't help his case either.? Seems he was disappointing all the way around.? He was good by himself he had only to defend himself but in a group he seemed to result to his base level and that was just as insecure and inept as he accepted that he was when his older brother used to pick on him.

?

He went to Chord and wanted to talk to him.? He was surely willing to plead his case for the others not him.? He actually had not stepped up the way he should, but the others didn't have the opportunity and deserved a chance to be better.? If anything they would excel under Harrison and Chord's training far better than he had obviously.? So if anything he would at least give them a chance to be a better team...together.? It was the best he could do.? He would at least have his team? ?As that was truly far more important than anyone person anyway.

?

Brandon walked into the office.

¡°Mr. Chord¡.you are scraping the project cause your son didn¡¯t live up to your expectations.??He disappointed and failed you once again???I get that I played that wrong¡I should have been more commanding, more analytical and less emotional.??I know the villains won¡¯t give us that chance to make a mistake.??But I am asking you¡to give them a chance even if you drop me from the team.??Give them the chance to be better.??I am not even pissed at Ireland being the team lead.??She deserves it.??I don¡¯t measure up I get it.??But they deserve a chance to prove they can be better than their showing yesterday!??You and Harrison can train them better than me!??They can be the team you all can be proud of.??I guarantee it.??If you don¡¯t take them then they will more than likely kill someone or kill each other trying to do it on their own anyway.??They will find a way to perfect the experiment with GEN and make them¡fully activated and controlled.¡±??Brandon looked at the man.

¡°Please Dad¡just give them one more chance?!?¡±??He stood there a boldly as he could it didn¡¯t have to do with him he didn¡¯t care what happened to him this time.??Hell he had caused enough problems of his own, now it was more about making sure those that were here had a better chance that what his emotional stance had given them.??He couldn¡¯t protect them all he could only save them and the best way he could do that was getting out of the way.

(Kat)

? ?Was a little stunned when Gen came and hugged her. She hugged Gen back just as tightly. She wasn't sure what she really wanted to do. Her emotions were a turmoil inside her. Gen offered her place up to stay at as well. Kat figured she would visit Gen in a few days, after everyone's emotions settled down.?

? ?Her attention shifted to Kites when he jumped up and asked her to stay. Then yelled at Gen. Kite gave Gen a stiff hug and then said that he needed time. They all needed time. Before Kat could do anything Kite left. She shook her head slightly.?

? ?Kat looked to Mia when she replied that she was not perfect. Kat nodded slightly. Though when Mia said that no one here liked her, Kat actually shook her head. As Mia was leaving Kat spoke, hopefully lpud enough for her to hear. "I have no idea how you got the thought that I don't like you. You are wrong you know." She hoped that Mia heard enough of it before the door shut.

? ?When Ireland spoke up, Kat tilted her head. She understood where Ireland was coming from. Gen should have been more mature about this all. The way she had spoke was out of line. Though Ireland held her own. When Ierland went to leave and stopped to say that it had been nice to meet her and since her and Brandon were a thing, that she would be seeing her around. "It was nice to meet you as well. Hope you know that I am not upset with you. Never have been. I know that I screwed up. Thought I implied that when I spoke my peace. Hope that we can be friends." She replied before Ireland left.?

? ?Kat turned back to Gen. "We need to talk."

Kat sat for a moment, not sure she heard what she heard. She understood what Chord and them were trying to do. The big picture as Mia had said but in her mind he took it a little to far. There were better ways to get the point across than the way Chord had tried. Still to just give up was not something she had thought he would have done.

?

So, when Chord and Harrison walked out, Kat honestly couldn't believe it. She looked to Brandon, who just stood up and left. This made her even more confused. Not sure what to do she looked to the others. "I'm heading up to my room. I'm going to collect my stuff and head back to my old place. There is room if you all want to crash for a while."?

?

Kat stood and headed for the door. As she did she stopped and turned around. "I don't want to leave. This is the first time in my life that I have been around someone like me. I don't want to lose my friends."?

¡°It was nice to meet you Kat. Since you and Brandon are now a thing, I¡¯ll probably see you again. Hey Mia, wait up.¡± She said leaving the room. She caught with Mia at the elevator.

?

¡°Hey...you okay?¡± Ireland asked

?

¡°Mr. Chord¡.you are scraping the project cause your son didn¡¯t live up to your expectations.? He disappointed and failed you once again?? I get that I played that wrong¡I should have been more commanding, more analytical and less emotional.? I know the villains won¡¯t give us that chance to make a mistake.? But I am asking you¡to give them a chance even if you drop me from the team.? Give them the chance to be better.? I am not even pissed at Ireland being the team lead.? She deserves it.? I don¡¯t measure up I get it.? But they deserve a chance to prove they can be better than their showing yesterday!? You and Harrison can train them better than me!? They can be the team you all can be proud of.? I guarantee it.? If you don¡¯t take them then they will more than likely kill someone or kill each other trying to do it on their own anyway.? They will find a way to perfect the experiment with GEN and make them¡fully activated and controlled.¡±? Brandon looked at the man.

¡°Please Dad¡just give them one more chance?!?¡±? He stood there a boldly as he could it didn¡¯t have to do with him he didn¡¯t care what happened to him this time.? Hell he had caused enough problems of his own, now it was more about making sure those that were here had a better chance that what his emotional stance had given them.? He couldn¡¯t protect them all he could only save them and the best way he could do that was getting out of the way.

Port Vega: LIght and Wings (Raine and Kites)

Raine had been wanting to check on Ireland since he hadn't talked to her for a couple of days.? But he thought with father watching the door he was sure he could see her.? Sneaking in through the roof, get in, get out.? Even the golden boy wouldn't spot him.? He knew his baby girl would tell him but it was nothing like seeing these clowns up close and personal.? He was raining down in a shower of light as he dropped upon the roof to reform he looked around and spotted someone with wings standing there.? He was dressed in dark pants, light blue shirt and white tie.? He moved towards the door but he saw how the person on the roof looked with his wings.? With an arched eyebrow.

"Sup?? Are you ok?" He asked the one that would be there.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

(Sicilien)

Just as things started to get more heated between Callie and the Sleeping Beauty, Sicilien couldn't help but feel his mouth twist into an almost sadistic grin, one hand going up to slide his hat down just enough to reveal the top half of his face, hiding the rest behind the wide brim.? Callie looked like she was about to deck the woman who seemed to be able to give as much as she received, and had it not been for the efforts of the white knight Chase, who rushed to put a lid over that boiling pot, the bounty hunter was dead sure that the two would go at it like two rabid cats.? Alas, t'was not to be.? Having been denied a bit of a show, he couldn't help but add in his own two cents, albeit as unwanted as they may have been.

"Sure you are "kidnapped," and I s'pose those are your "knights in shining armor" so desperately trying to rescue their fair maiden?" he retorted, pointing at the door which, to its testament of strength, was somehow able to withstand the storm of claws outside, though it was starting to look like it was bending inwards.? As much as he wanted to upkeep that conversation however, Flynn was right.? They didn't have time for chit chat, and every second they wasted was a second they got closer to being dog food.? The sheriff was no help either, taking to the bottle as he stayed quiet, hoping that they and the rest of the world would forget about his presence.? Letting the chair tip forward, Sicilien placed both elbows atop his knees once his feet felt solid ground and pleated his hand upon which he rested his chin, darkly looking over the ragtag team of hardy adventurers.

"Kerfluffery aside, we need to get the hell out of dodge, and fast.? Don't know anything 'bout Miller's Crossing, and it seems no one in this hellhole does either" he said, turning to Flynn.? "But anywhere's better than here.? Flynn, what'd it take for you to spirit us out and how long would you need?"? He reached for his coat and sniper rifle, racking in a bullet just in case he'd have to use it.

(Etienne)

When the redhead step forward, Etienne sat up. Her feet touching the floor. Her hand curled into a fist. Waiting. Ready. When the woman back down, her eyes turned and narrowed on the ass who had followed her from Vulture City. ¡°I never asked to be apart of any of this and I will thank you kindly if you would let me go.¡± Etienne said.

When the other two men chime in, she stood and turned to walk to the window. She frowned as she looked out. She didn¡¯t see anything but dust and wind. Howling wind. ¡°There doesn¡¯t seem to be anyone out there,¡± she said looking out the window through the bars.

(Old Chase)

Chase was not in the mood for a catfight even though a part of him wanted to see it himself.? They needed one another and not all battered and bruised.? He breathed as he looked at them.? ¡°No, I did not kidnap her!? I am not a monster!¡±? He said leaving out the word completely, part of him was though.? Chase wanted to be diplomatic seems everyone thought he was some knight to the damsel¡but he was far from it and the woman thought the other man was her night and wanted nothing to do with Chase from what he reckoned.

He deep down just wanted her safe and he wanted his life back and that rested in Miller¡¯s Crossing where they all needed to go to get free¡him most of all!

¡°She called herself homunculi¡some nonsense like that and wanted to detain us¡.however, she could. Some more easily than others,¡± he said thinking that his loneliness nearly got the better of him.

¡°Get everyone out then, I can hold them off should they get in.? Ten minutes do or you need longer?¡±? He asked as he would take off his shirt leaving on only his vest for his top, the pants didn¡¯t rip but he would like to keep the hat so he put that on his lanyard and waited for them to move as he moved to bar the door a bit more to have a little more time.

¡°Can you all get a move on already?¡±? He asked rolling his back as he prepared for the slight pain that he knew was bound to come with his change.? If Etienne didn¡¯t like him before¡she damn sure wasn¡¯t going to like him now.? She might very well not let him touch her again.

But it wasn¡¯t something he wasn¡¯t used too.

¡°They are demons¡their form is loose so they can hide in the wind but they have to be solid to attack.
Now go!¡±? He said holding of his change for as long as possible.

(Old Charity)

Charity danced. She'd been dancing for hours, dancing as a madwoman, still nude, and now in the town square of Millers Crossing. The few 'townsfolk' who were about at this hour ignored her, as they did the pounding of her drum. Although ignored, Charity's drumming? overlayed the town, and everything in it and the surrounding countryside seemed to move to it's rhythm. As her dance reached its crescendo, her movements, now in a flurry of naked flesh, she stopped dead and simply stood still as pond water. Sweat dripping off of the wendigo's mortal form was her only motion. Even the town and countryside seemed to pause for a moment, until a coyote howled far off in the distance, breaking the spell.
?
In Bendo the spirits of bear, wolf, and coyote shrieked outside of the sheriff's office along with the others, both natural and unnatural, clawing at the pokie. Just as Charity finished in Millers Crossing the maelstrom outside the hoosegow stopped, plunging Bendo into total silence. Outside, in the streets, every mortal human who had drank the water left their abode and dropped dead. Somewhere, far in the distance, a coyote howled. Sheriff Miller stood up, and before any of the others could challenge him he dropped to the floor. In an almost inaudible whisper, as if the ghost of ol' Dan were still present, he said, "they all daid." Then Sheriff Miller, too, died.

(Callie Carson)

"Homunculi?" Callie repeated, looking toward Etienne, then she glanced back at Flynn to see if he recognized the word. She did. It had been among teachings she'd received at the Vatican. She knew a homunculus was a tiny human, created by an alchemist. Perhaps there were other meanings of the term, but this is what she knew. The girl certainly wasn't tiny, but still the reference made no sense. Maybe Flynn had different insights.

? Before she could ask him, the noises and wind outside the sheriff's office stopped abruptly and an eerie silence enveloped them. Among the group, only one person moved immediately after the storm outside ended...Sheriff Miller. He simply keeled over where he stood, collapsing to the floor.

? She heard the whisper and then walked over and knelt beside the sheriff, checking for a pulse. "He's gone."

(Flynn)

Flynn noticed Callie's questioning glance but could only shrug.? "I've heard of 'em.? They're like livin' puppets that you can make and have do stuff for you. Different kind of magic from the kind I can do, though."

"I'd need less than a minute to make a portal," Flynn said to Sicilien. "And since no one here knows Miller's Crossing, it'll have to be to Cullenville.? So--"

Suddenly the howling outside stopped, leaving only silence. At the same time, the sheriff staggered and collapsed, whispering "They all daid" with his last gasping breath.? He watched as Callie checked the man and pronounced him dead.

"De r¨¦ir na sean-d¨¦ithe go l¨¦ir," the pookah muttered, staring in consternation at the sheriff's now-lifeless body.? "It seems our immediate threat has been eliminated," he said after a moment. "But I declare, I'm gettin' sorely weary of always being a day late and a dollar short in this affair. Somebody - or some _thing_ - has been out-manuevering us from the get-go. And right now, they must be laughin' their heads off."

Re: Port Vega: Father and Son.

(Chord)

As Chord listened to all that Brandon had to say, he found himself fighting back a sighing. This had been a conversation very long overdue, and about eight years in the making. The crazy thing was, that this was the exact same conversation he had had with Raine before he left. And when it was all said and done, Raine still left home feeling like the victim. He wondered if Brandon would do the same.

?

¡°What do I mean?¡± Chord began. ¡° I am going to be very, very blunt with you right now Brandon. It is not my intention to hurt your feelings, but at 22 years old, I think you should be able to handle this very man to man talk¡or at least I hope you can.

?

¡°I appreciate that you came in here bold enough to speak your truth, and you were honest enough to give voice to your insecurities and feelings of worthlessness and unlovability. But I think your truths¡your life as you see it, speaks very definitely and clearly to your own insecurities.¡±

?

¡°Here is what I mean. Is it possible that the reason why you never see the good that anyone offers you is because you do not want to see it? Because if you did see it, then you would have to face and abandon a belief system that allows you to continue to feel sorry for yourself?

?

¡°Let me explain. You stand before me now begging me to give a second chance to a bunch of people who are essentially virtual strangers to you because you have decided in your mind that the only reason why those strangers have lost the opportunity you want for them is because I only see you as a screw up. And since I only see you as a screw up, I am now punishing them by taking away their one shot¡

?

¡°That is pretty cold of me. I am surprise you want to leave them in the care of people who are as unfair as me and Harry.?

?

¡°However, Brandon let¡¯s look at the reality of the situation, shall we? Did you come in here and ask why I shut down the program? No, you did not. Have you sought any clarity on why I removed you from the team lead position? No, you have not. Did you even listen to my words to Gen yesterday, or the team today¡or what I just said to you when you came in here? No, it does not seem like you have.

?

¡°You have sought no understanding of the situation at hand, nor have you honestly received my explanation about what happened yesterday, nor did you process my words from today. You have simply decided that I think you are a screw up, and for that, I must punish everyone else.

?

¡°I believe that the reason why you have not ask for any clarity of the whys and wherefores or attempted to gain any real truth of what is actually going on in this situation, is because the truth would not fit into the narrative of what you want it to be¡ªAnd what you want it to be is that my son is such a disappointment to me, that I am so disgusted by him , that everyone must pay.

?

¡°And damn Brandon if that is not a bit hurtful on your part. And I am going to have to examine my actions with you over the years that you actually believe that is how I am.

?

¡°Since you did not ask for clarity, let me be absolutely clear. Today, not a single solitary member of your team lost their shot at an opportunity for anything that you did.? In fact, Brandon, today every single solitary member of your team lost their shot at an opportunity for something that they did not. And that was take personal accountability for their actions yesterday ¡I take that back¡just one member of your team did¡and that was Mia.

?

¡°You have been with us for a long time Brandon and you know that for me, and Harry Personal accountability is huge. It is the one thing I look for in everyone I surround myself with. It is how I gage if you are a truly mature adult. Its how I promote within my organization. Its how I live my life.

?

¡°How can I work with a team who does not self-evaluate? How can I help a team grow that is not willing to look at, name and claim their flaws and faults? How can I be an effective mentor to a team that has no respect for the process or the knowledge and wisdom that either Harrison or I have?

?

¡°How can I salvage that, Brandon? What is there to salvage really if everyone believes I was wrong to point out just how unprofessional everyone was being? If no one wants to see that yesterday was essentially a job interview and the results was no one was prepared but everyone wanted to believe they were? I don¡¯t do false praise, Brandon. False praise is dangerous in our line of work. You know that.

?

¡°And today it became plainly obvious to me that that was what everyone on your team wanted. It became painfully obvious that everyone here is only here for their own personal reasons wants desires and agendas and everyone wants to put those reasons, wants desires and agendas before the team.

?

¡°So, truth be told Brandon, There is no reason to come to me begging for me to accept the team. I think you and the team made it abundantly clear that you will never accept me or Harry. If anything you need to go to the team and ask them if this opportunity is something that they really want or do they just want all the fame without the hard work. Do they just want all the perks of living here and the freedom to be able to do their own thing and enjoy all that their budding relationships are bringing.?

?

¡°Please understand that yesterday was not a good day, but it wasn¡¯t all bad either. And it was definitely a day we could have overcome¡but we can only overcome if we as a team are willing to take personal accountability for our actions. I was willing to take personal accountability for mine. Mia was willing to take personal accountability for hers¡what about the rest of the team¡what about you Brandon?

?

¡°Yes, you stood up before us all and apologize for not measuring up. But your apology was false and manipulative, Brandon. Why? because you offered an apology for something you already believe to be true and that you think will always be true and that you have no control over.

?

¡°You apologized for not measuring up in my eyes. But Brandon you have already said that you feel like you never measure up. You just told me that you always feel insecure and you always lack confidence and you feel that neither I or Harry ever see the good in you.

?

¡°That kind of apology, as far as I am concern, plays a very dangerous game of victimhood and negates any goal either I or Harry has for the team. Because it makes you look like exactly how you want to look. That you don¡¯t measure up.? It proves the way you want to feel¡that Harry and I are always picking on you. It also helps to make the team feels sorry for you.? It makes you the victim.

?

"Harry and I have said many times over your young life and I will say again that you have so much potential, Brandon. But if you are only going to focus on your faults and flaws and decide that every time either I or Harry try to help you overcome those faults and flaws that we do not love you and that we never tell you we love you¡If you are going to choose to forget when we tell you when you are doing right, but be upset we do not sugarcoat it when you are doing wrong¡If me being honest with you, If Harry pushing you to not give up and to do your absolute best makes you want to feel worthless and that you are not good enough¡well that Is just not my problem nor is that something I will take ownership of.

?

¡°It is unfortunate that you feel that way¡ and that you feel hurt and feel like we are picking on you or that you do not measure up, but I will not apologize for holding you accountable and wanting to see you live up to your greatness. But you are free to interpret our actions however you choose

?

¡°Furthermore. I think you do Ireland a great disservice when you say what you say about her. She has always loved you with a fierce loyalty and protectiveness that she does not have for everyone. And she is the one person that has always been incredibly honest with you and respectful of your feelings when I admit some of the rest of us have not been¡It is not fair of you to try to paint her feelings for you in a negative light because she was honest with you. If you keep this up Brandon you are going to force people to walk on eggshells around you¡or even worse, not want to deal with you at all.? And as you and I both know Ireland does not do drama. And that path you are on right now is walking her into a full blown episode of an afternoon soap opera.

?

(Brandon)
? ¡°I realize it is my own personal self-view. That is true I recognize I have several things I need to get over and not push myself to the other side of being egotistical. I don¡¯t have or don¡¯t know that balance of being good enough and thinking more of myself than I should.¡± He paused.

?¡°I would leave them with you because I am a great warrior and by myself, I know how to do things and get things done. You and Harry¡.Harrison could build a team from scratch! Mold them how you want them to be¡yes even make them so they would be introspective and take personal responsibility. I don¡¯t believe I feel sorry for myself¡but maybe I do?!?¡± He breathed.

?¡°You do control the narrative father¡you explain it to me so I can get it¡you could have explained it to them as well. You could have shut down the project, but you could have still made them a team. Most of them are from backgrounds that haven¡¯t sat them down and simply explained¡what do you think or feel that you did wrong? How could you overcome and do better? This would have been their shot.¡± Brandon sat there pondering.

?¡°OK¡I have my own reason why you removed me from team lead¡but why did you? Why shut down the program at all? I processed your words today and felt nothing but disappointment¡from you¡Harrison¡especially Ireland¡for all of her love¡I didn¡¯t feel it today! I love her so much¡but as you said it could just be me!¡± He sighed. ¡°I don¡¯t mean to hurt you Father, but there is a difference between False praise and NONE. You didn¡¯t cover anything they did right yesterday it was just¡don¡¯t get me wrong¡you all suck. Get your food and get out. I don¡¯t know why I even bothered. That may not be the way you intended it but I believe that is the way it came out and that is not just my insecurities talking. Mia was able to self-evaluate she could see her part better than the rest of us it seems¡I get that so she had both shown and proven herself to you three. That is fine. But don¡¯t throw the rest of them out cause they are not there yet¡I am sure they want to be¡or they wouldn¡¯t be crying feeling dejected and rejected downstairs the way they are or were.¡± He looked at him.

¡°I love and respect both you and Harrison¡but constant hardness doesn¡¯t always build leaders¡there is a reason babies fail to thrive without love and attention¡yes tough love is better than no love but some of that needs to be in there too.¡± He looked at him. He adored the man. He would never want to hurt him but he had and that made him feel far worse.

?¡°I don¡¯t think it was or is abundantly clear. I think maybe you may have miss read every one. Most of them would have understood had you explained your points to them as you did to me. Everyone is not Ireland or Mia and just figure it out! I take my personal responsibility and Don¡¯t want anyone walking on eggshells around him and not wanting to be around me¡that is part of the problem¡Harrison is not really around me and Ireland is gone moved out. So I think they have distanced themselves enough. You and I? Well, you see where we are now. I am still insecurity and now I have hurt you more¡so apparently again I am missing something that would make me a more well-rounded person. And it is clearly me! I am not wanting to be the Victim but apparently, that is how I am coming off and I apologize.¡± He stopped to breathe.

?¡°Saying I have potential is not the same as saying what I am doing good right now. An atom has potential¡everything has potential but what about this moment. What you did was good, but this could be better? At this moment¡as simple as son I am proud of you for you¡no other reason just you! I wish you would do this¡or that but son¡I still love you. Yeah, dad¡that would have gone a long way¡it didn¡¯t have to be done in front of others, just you and I would be fine! At least knowing I was doing something right or maybe I didn¡¯t have to just measure up once and again. I don¡¯t want you to not hold me accountable. That is what has got me to where I am today!¡± He sighed.

?¡°I will see Ireland before I do something ¡else stupid! Yeah, she had always been there¡just some times in the moment¡I don¡¯t need the extra scoop when I am already feeling like shit!¡± He said looking at the man that he truly adored.

He looked at her arching an eyebrow and doing his best not to laugh.? He was still smitten by her even though theirs might have been allowed..? It didn't stop how he felt of her.? But it didn't stop his duty or his efforts.? "You can learn them as well."? he was not thinking of the double meaning till it was too late.? But none the least.? "Overqualified or now you wish it done...it will be done!"?

'Find the Torquani clan Haran and Zafiri? - Medicineman/Spy? Elven Rangers as Backup!'? He listened as he planned to scout the area.? He would have to dress as a merchant scout it would hide himself from most view and get him overlooked then he would search the market places for clues once he was free or out in the open between here and there it would be easy to gather information without being caught...mostly!!

"Is there anything else my Queen?"? he asked.

(New Rayna)
"No, that's the best I have at the moment," the Queen said.? "Go when you're ready, and may the Goddess guide and protect."

May the Goddess guide and protect us all, she thought.? I always pray for that.? It's said that She loves us and answers all prayers¡

Though sometimes the answer is "no", she realized.

(Brandon)

¡°What do you mean?? I don¡¯t get anything from it.? Rain took it upon himself to make me his mental and sometimes physical punching bag.? Then downstairs when I try to take responsibility.? My own sister makes it a point to take a jab at me too.? It is not about self-deprecating, self-hating, everyone hates me.? It is what I see.? I want to do something right!? Even with training Harrison picks apart what I do, but has yet to ever say anything I have done right!? You have pressed so hard that I don¡¯t know at what point I have pleased you like your son or I am simply a pet at times when I am out in the field, I am a good soldier but when have I been someone you have been proud of as just your son?? Well done¡yeah, I have heard that when?? And from whom?? I am not trying to be any martyr.? I don¡¯t hate myself.? I just have perhaps put too much faith in others appreciating me than I should have.¡±

Even as he said it he wasn¡¯t sure if he didn¡¯t hate himself right now.? Sure he was disappointed in himself but as it verging on hate?? He didn¡¯t know honestly?!?

He looked at him.? ¡°I screwed up yesterday¡when I was replaced I felt defeated so yeah I shut off and did just enough to continue the exercise.? So yeah I deserved to be replaced? I didn¡¯t step up and take control.? Even now.? I don¡¯t want it back, cause I don¡¯t deserve so that is fine too.? I am probably more of a people pleaser than I would like to be rather than focus on my own personal opinion and not give a damn, but then that would make me come off as self-centered and egotistical.? So to say what I get from this¡I don¡¯t get anything from it I just see myself as on the outside looking into my own life sometimes.¡±? He paused.

?¡°I have no problem doing what I can to help others¡I am good at it but don¡¯t see any real bits of me worth being with or worth loving at times.? So maybe I simply lack the confidence or conviction to be a good leader.? I have only had to be responsible for myself¡so that has been my go-to!? Raine, it was easy to just shut him out and ignore him. Ireland I thought¡never mind what I thought, obviously I was wrong in that regard as well.? So I am asking for a chance to give the rest of the group another opportunity ¡with or without me Dad.? That¡¯s it!¡±? He stood with his hands on his knees sitting up straight and looking at the man that had raised him.? He could only plead his case as he truly had nothing to bargain with as he was sitting there before him.

Re: The Door Between Two Worlds [Roue and Rabbit] (closed)

(Rabbit)

"Of course I can understand you. You're s-speaking' English," Rabbit said, biting his lip, feeling just as confused as Roue seemed to be.? "You mean you, uhm, really couldn' understand it before? I mean like, for r-real?" ?

The little vampire was even more confused by what the elf was saying.? "F-forced yourself on me?? Wh-what're you talkin' about?? I was doin' everythin' I could to, uhm, you know, s-seduce you!" He couldn't help but giggle at Roue's seeming guilty confession.? "Are you k-kiddin'? The only bad thing you did to me was when you sneaked outta bed and took all your n-nice warmth with you!"

"Actually, I'm the one who, uhm, kinda t-took advantage of you," Rabbit said, biting his lip and fidgeting awkwardly once again.? It was his turn to feel guilty, it seemed.? "I mean, you got me so, uhm, you know, w-worked up 'n stuff, I just c-couldn' resist." The little vampire searched Roue's eyes for some sign of comprehension but found none.? "I g-guess you don' remember, huh?"

[Roue]

"English...what is that?? Sounds very foreign...English...Eeengliisshh," he mouthed, dragging out the words as if he was attempting to taste them.? When he realized how silly it must've looked, he stopped, flushing, and then bent down to pick up the chair, setting it down and then sitting upon it.? He figured that just standing there was drawing even more attention to him than he really wanted.? Motioning for Rabbit to come closer and have a seat himself at the table, he offered one of the cups of water that he had, pushing towards his guest.? Pulling his hand back, he sighed, cupping the bottom with both palms, taking a nice long sip before he felt brave enough to speak.? The cool water felt great going down his throat.? It didn't help keep the heat off his face though, getting redder and redder as Rabbit revealed just how much they both reciprocated in their feelings.

"I um...I have a certain susceptibility to alcohol, that is...even the smallest amount is enough to get me deeply drunk," Roue said, swallowing a bit as he continued.? "It leads...has certainly led to some very...interesting situations.? Some fortunate, some very unfortunate...for me...so I tend to stay away from any and all sorts of spirits unless I really need some liquid courage."? It felt so very awkward to have to explain this kind of vulnerability, but there was no use downplaying it.? Not after Roue and Rabbit shared a bed.? However, the drunk Roue and the sober totally-not-drinking-ever-again Roue were like night and day, and having to take responsibility for the actions of his other, much bolder side for which he couldn't always recount the memories of what he did exactly was quite difficult, if not downright unpleasant.? So when he looked back up, he saw how crestfallen Rabbit had become, and bit his lip as he tapped on the side of the glass to fill the silence, and give him some buffer time.

"Um...not fully, sorry...the memories are hazy at best," he admitted, sniffing.? "I can typically piece together what has happened based on the bits and pieces that do float up, but what is most telling is the reaction of whoever I happened to "accost" at the time.? At least, I assume that based on what you said, that you have...um...enjoyed that, which is a relief at least.? Having to try and explain my behavior is very difficult when I can't exactly recount the events that led up to this."? Pausing again, the elf took another long gulp of water, sighing out.? He pushed his hair back from his face, making a note to brush it once he has a chance to back to the room, looking back at Rabbit.? It didn't help that the shorter boy himself was quite attractive, but now was not the time to be thinking this.? Roue needed to get his bearings together.

"Rabbit...that is your name, right?? I was able to glean that much before," he remarked, making a small "tsk" sound he mulled over his thoughts.? "None of this makes sense...where I am...what this place is...how I even got here.? How I'm even able to understand you even...I know this is not Rune Midgard, not after you took me to whatever that loud, flashy world was...? but what suddenly caused our language barrier to just up and disappear.? I guess it's true what they say...that the best way to learn a language is through pillow talk, ha ha ha..."? Gods, that was so awkward and stupid to say.? As if he didn't feel embarrassed already, now he was spouting the pillow talk line?? As if that was going to make everything better.? Ugh...

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

[Roue]

Roue didn't even realize nor hear Rabbit coming closer, being too busy wallowing in his self-induced bout of doom and gloom.? Thoroughly focused on and now nursing his third cup of water, the elf idly dragged his finger along the rim as a trail of softly glowing blue light followed the path, frost cascading down the exterior side of the glass, cooling down the liquid.? His own eyes were glowing the same as well, half lidded as he kept muttering to himself.? It wasn't until Rabbit? began to address him that the elf reacted at all, suddenly startled out of his own daydream, standing up so sharply that his chair simply fell back with a loud "bang!"..? As their eyes met, Roue turned a bright share of red from head to toe, turning away as he bit his lip, not really knowing what to say and then suddenly it all spilled out.

"I-I'm okay...You don't have to apologize at all.? I mean, I was the one who was out of my mind and completely took advantage of the situation.? That wasn't...that isn't how I normally am, I swear...I've...I've been taught better than to act that way, and yet I still forced myself on you...probably did some...umm...really bad things...to you...A-are you okay?" he kept back pedaling, totally not realizing that only did he fully understand what Rabbit said, but also answered him in kind.? Wait a minute...? He stopped for a beat, frowning to himself as he looked back with eyes opened wide, pointing to Rabbit, then to himself, and then back to Rabbit again as it all started to click.

"W-wait a second...do you...can you understand me?" he asked in disbelief, one hand flying up to his mouth, touching his lips as .? His eyes stopped glowing at that point, returning to their normal azure color, albeit a bit darkened due to the dimness of the light around them.? "Either I've just become very adept at reading your lips or I'm hallucinating..."? He reached down to pinch himself, but as he had proved in that moment, wincing, that it was indeed all real.? How in the hell was he suddenly able to understand Rabbit?? It just did not compute...

(Rabbit)

"Of course I can understand you. You're s-speaking' English," Rabbit said, biting his lip, feeling just as confused as Roue seemed to be.? "You mean you, uhm, really couldn' understand it before? I mean like, for r-real?" ?

Re: Troy Rising: A Mission for the Queen (Rayna, attn Caldiorone al-Basir-delove)

(New Rayna)

The Queen smiled ruefully.? "I suppose I shouldn't have, eh?? I guess I ask mainly because you know your capabilities than I, and on the surface this sounds like a basic scouting mission.? You might be¡how do I put this¡overqualified.?

"But then again, with the odd report¡

"Find out if there's anything lingering.? Unless I miss my guess, you should be able to get an idea from the pilgrims headed there¡ªor lack thereof.? Also, be on the lookout for a Torquani father and daughter.? They go by the names of Haran and Zafiri, of the old Naarmyr family.?

"We were expecting them to appear to our agents in Masden, but we've heard nothing since its sack.? Haran is an old hand at being a spymaster, as well as a physician and philosopher, so I suspect that he diverted his course away, and I hope they're still alive.? What they carry is vital to the war effort.? Also be aware that I have a group of Elven rangers in the province on the lookout for them.? If you find you need more than yourself, they might be of service to you."

(New Cali)

"Is there anything else my Queen?"? he asked.

Re: Port Vega: Father and Son.

(Chord)

?

¡°Are you absolutely sure about this.¡± Harrison asked

?

He nodded. ¡°Are you?¡± He asked in return. She nodded. He sighed. ¡°They are going to think we gave up on them.¡±

?

¡°Essential we did,¡± Harrison said bluntly. ¡° But it was only because they gave up on the program first. My principles will always be my principles and I will not compromise those for anyone.¡±

?

He nodded as they stepped onto the elevator. ¡°And I would never ask you too.¡±

?

¡°But you feel bad,¡± Harrison said

?

¡°No, that¡¯s not it. It more...I feel disappointed...but not for me...for them. They all had so much potential and I guess I¡¯m disappointed that all of them just gave up. That no one had any shame in their behavior yesterday and that out of five people only one of them took any personal accountability and quiet frankly the one that did, have very little to hold themselves accountable for. That to me is the real shame.¡± Chord said ¡°Not that the program is halted. I can find new people for the program. It¡¯s a real shame that this group of people didn¡¯t work out.?

?

¡°Well beside being sure about their sexual feelings for one another, they were all untied in hating you.¡± She said With a smirk.

?

He chuckled. ¡°Indeed. So I guess in that I am happy I was able to bring them together in that way. You plan to talk to Mia.¡±

?

¡°I do.¡± Harrison said

?

¡°Have you changed your mind about her?¡± Chord asked.

?

¡°I guess we will see after this meeting.¡±

?

The elevator dinged and he stepped off. ¡°Don¡¯t be too hard on her tiger. They don¡¯t seem to like that.¡± He said

?

¡°When do I ever do what they want.¡± She said with a smile as the doors closed.

?

Chord shook his head as he walked into his large office over looking the city. The day started off with so much promise...now he was here. What a difference 60 minutes made.?

?

He meant what he said about talking, or being their for them if they needed anything. He just hoped their pride didn¡¯t keep them from asking.

?

As he stood at the window looking out, he saw Kites explode in the sky. The knock on the door did not surprise him.?

?

¡°Come,¡± he said

?

Brandon was here, he wanted to talk to him anyway...and then the young man started speaking.?

?

With another sigh, Chord turned to look at the young man. He rose a brow as his son began. Mr. Chord.

?

So he was Mr. Chord now.He moved to sit down at his desk across from his son.

?

?¡°You have been my son Brandon since you were twelve. And one of the things that you should know is that personal accountability is big with me. It¡¯s a standard I have attempted to hold and impart in you Ireland and Raine.?

?

You should also by now know that I have never nor will I ever hold someone else accountable for the deeds done of another.?

?

so with that I need to understand something. Something that I have wanted to understand about you for a very long time.

?

I just never asked when you were an adolescent or teenage because hoped you would out grow it, but now that you are twenty-two...grown man.

?

So my question is, What is it that you get from this? This self-deprecated, self-hating, everyone hates me, I never do anything right martyr role you like to play. I simply need to understand so that I can understand how to navigate you.¡±

?

?

?

?

Even as he said it he wasn¡¯t sure if he didn¡¯t hate himself right now.? Sure he was disappointed in himself but as it verging on hate?? He didn¡¯t know honestly?!?

?

?He looked at him.? He paused.

?

Re: Elusive Capture: Beaches. Andrew/Evone¡¯

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

(Andrew)
"If I knew an oath that could prove the sincerity of my love," Andrew said, stroking her hair as he gazed into her eyes, "I would swear it here and now, without hesitation.? But all I can do is to try and prove myself to you. Come with me, my love, and let my actions on your behalf be my proof." He kissed her back, gently in return.? "If you would see your father, I'll take you to France. If you would see your husband groveling at your feet, I'll find him and make him beg your forgiveness. Or if you would rather, we can just sail on, from port to port, with no care other than to be free and with each other."? He bowed, quite formally and quite seriously before her.? "I, my ship, and my crew await your command."

?- Evone' -

Tears filled her eyes at his words. ¡°You just said it.¡± She said gazing up into his lovely eyes. And you didn¡¯t have to say that. You actions more than prove your love for me.¡±

She reached up to stroke his cheek then. ¡°I want to be where you are Andrew. I want to be with you always. I want to be yours. Thank you. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for wanting me.¡± She stepped into his arms again kissing him lovingly, passionately.

They now stood in a small private jetty down the beach away from the others. Her hand went up into his hair lovely tresses. ¡°Make love to me.¡±

Re: What Lies in the Heart. Mikayla/The Dragon

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

(The Dragon)

"I do not... require drink..." the Dragon managed between swallows as Mikayla ladled the soup with its generous chunks of chicken into his mouth. It felt good going down his throat and even better when it hit his stomach.? He'd been hungrier than he'd realized, the pain from the aborted transformation having overridden every other sensation he might've had.

"I suppose Angus is a good cook," the Dragon admitted grudgingly as Mikayla fed him the last few ladles of the soup.? "For a former hound, anyway."? Resting his chin on his forepaws, he was quiet for a long moment, eyes closed as if in meditation. After a while, one eye opened to peer at Mikayla.? "Just out of curiosity," he murmured, "do you think you might be willing to... perhaps... give the book another try?? Not now," he added quickly, "but... in the future?" ?

The Dragon went silent, regarding her quietly as he waited for her response.? Again, something about the girl seemed to gnaw at the edges of his memory, but every time he reached for it, it slipped away, retreating into an impenetrable fog.

?- Mikayla -

As Mikayla finished feeding him the last of the soap, she turned to reach for the hand towel Angus had left for her. Dipping it in water, she whipped his face. Then place the ladle and the towel down. She tried not to smirk at his gruff demeanor.?

It made her wonder if his grumpy Gus role was all an act. After all he was the big bad dragon of the keep wasnt he? She supposed he couldn¡¯t have her thinking that he might actual have a softer side.

She smiled. ¡°Of course I would. I mean now that I know what you were intending. I can definitely try again when you feel up to it.¡± Mikayla said sitting down on the floor cross legged before him.

Port Vega: Father and Son.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

?(Brandon)

He would pack after he got his answer.? He could only assume that Mia was their choice in co-leader along with Ireland which was fine he realize Mia had the right idea.? He just didn't think it was right or fair to over tax them on the first day.? But deep down it made sense...if they were in a situation...the villains weren't going to pull their punches cause they didn't know what to do cause they weren't prepared so what did he expect??

?Seeing Ireland look at him as she did, didn't help his case either.? Seems he was disappointing all the way around.? He was good by himself he had only to defend himself but in a group he seemed to result to his base level and that was just as insecure and inept as he accepted that he was when his older brother used to pick on him.

?He went to Chord and wanted to talk to him.? He was surely willing to plead his case for the others not him.? He actually had not stepped up the way he should, but the others didn't have the opportunity and deserved a chance to be better.? If anything they would excel under Harrison and Chord's training far better than he had obviously.? So if anything he would at least give them a chance to be a better team...together.? It was the best he could do.? He would at least have his team? ?As that was truly far more important than anyone person anyway.

?

Brandon walked into the office.

Chord?

¡°Are you absolutely sure about this.¡± Harrison asked

He nodded. ¡°Are you?¡± He asked in return. She nodded. He sighed. ¡°They are going to think we gave up on them.¡±

¡°Well beside being sure about their sexual feelings for one another, they were all untied in hating you.¡± She said With a smirk.

He chuckled. ¡°Indeed. So I guess in that I am happy I was able to bring them together in that way. You plan to talk to Mia.¡±

¡°I do.¡± Harrison said

¡°Have you changed your mind about her?¡± Chord asked.

¡°I guess we will see after this meeting.¡±

The elevator dinged and he stepped off. ¡°Don¡¯t be too hard on her tiger. They don¡¯t seem to like that.¡± He said

¡°When do I ever do what they want.¡± She said with a smile as the doors closed.

Chord shook his head as he walked into his large office over looking the city. The day started off with so much promise...now he was here. What a difference 60 minutes made.?

He meant what he said about talking, or being their for them if they needed anything. He just hoped their pride didn¡¯t keep them from asking.

As he stood at the window looking out, he saw Kites explode in the sky. The knock on the door did not surprise him.?

¡°Come,¡± he said

Brandon was here, he wanted to talk to him anyway...and then the young man started speaking.?

With another sigh, Chord turned to look at the young man. He rose a brow as his son began. Mr. Chord.

So he was Mr. Chord now.He moved to sit down at his desk across from his son.

?¡°You have been my son Brandon since you were twelve. And one of the things that you should know is that personal accountability is big with me. It¡¯s a standard I have attempted to hold and impart in you Ireland and Raine.?

You should also by now know that I have never nor will I ever hold someone else accountable for the deeds done of another.?

so with that I need to understand something. Something that I have wanted to understand about you for a very long time.

I just never asked when you were an adolescent or teenage because hoped you would out grow it, but now that you are twenty-two...grown man.

So my question is, What is it that you get from this? This self-deprecated, self-hating, everyone hates me, I never do anything right martyr role you like to play. I simply need to understand so that I can understand how to navigate you.¡±

Evone¡¯ felt her eyes fill with tears. His words were so beautiful...what he said...the sentiment behind it tears filled her iridescent eyes. ¡°God you are such a beautiful man.¡±

She came into his arms and kissed him tight, holding him close. ?she stood up on tip toes and gently kissed his lips. ¡°I am so out of sorts. I thought Lucas loved me . He did not. I am scared that I am wrong with you. It would kill me if I was wrong about you Andrew. ¡°

Re: Blood Bonds: Family Ties

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

(Draven)
As they pulled into the estate gates, Draven brushed Anais' cheek to gently wake her, "my love, we have arrived."? He thought she would like to see the place as it came into view.? His own apprehensions surfacing as he wondered what his family was going to think of her.

He hadn't been home in many years, almost a decade.? He reached out and couldn't feel his father's presence.? He wondered if his father had passed and he had not been informed.? Why?

The car pulled up under the driveway covering and there were many people moving about to figure out who would be attending to the new arrivals as Draven hadn't informed anyone that they were coming at all.

?Anais

Anais iridescent orbs blinked open at the stroke of her cheek and the gentle call of her name. As she peered out the window of the looming structure, apprehension filled her. ?This was his home...his people. Would his mother like her...his brother...father...

¡°It¡¯s quiet impressive,¡± she said softly. She remained quiet as people care out the estate to attend them.

She willed herself to get it together. Least she disgrace him and embarrass herself.

- Mikayla -

Mikayla kept her smirk to herself. After all she could tell she was brushing his pride and she didn¡¯t want to do that. ¡°Thank you. I like to feel useful. Especially after all the trouble I caused.¡± She said ladling the soup in his mouth.

¡°it smells really good. I have come to learn that Angus is a fabulous cook. So I am sure it is delicious.¡± She said giving him more. ¡°It¡¯s it warm enough? Do you require drink?¡± She said genuinely concerned.

?

Re: The Door Between Two Worlds [Roue and Rabbit] (closed)

(Rabbit)

Rabbit was just beginning to stir when he felt his bed-mate suddenly tense up. Did Roue suddenly remember what he'd done the night before and realize just what Rabbit was, the little vampire wondered nervously. Before he could say anything though, the elf had thrown the comforter over him and was, from the sound of things, hurriedly grabbing up his clothes and dressing. And then was out the door without a word.

"F-fuck," Rabbit muttered, unburying himself from beneath the comforter as he sat up in the bed.? The spot where Roue had been was still warm, but was cooling rapidly now that Roue's deliciously warm body was no longer there to sustain it.? Roue had probably fled in fear, believing himself in danger. Which could be really bad since the elf was unfamiliar with how the doors in the Dionysus Club worked and could find himself hopelessly lost if he stepped through the wrong door at the wrong time.? Rabbit quickly dressed himself and hurried out into the main part of the club, hoping to find the elf before that happened.?

He found Roue hunched over a table in one of the more secluded corners of the club's main room, sipping at a glass of something that looked like water and looking thoroughly miserable. Biting his lip, the little vampire approached the table, hoping the elf wouldn't flee at the very sight of him. ?

"R-roue?" Rabbit ventured, his voice hesitant.? "Are you, uhm, you know, okay?" He fidgeted awkwardly, trying to think of what to say.? "I'm sorry 'bout, uhm, you know, what I did.? I mean, I w-wanted to tell you, but I couldn't figure out how to...." The little vampire blinked as he suddenly remembered something.? "W-wait a second.? I... I heard you s-sayin' stuff.? In English.? I know I d-did."? He peered at Roue suspiciously.? "C-can you understand me?? I mean, like for real?"

Re: Port Vega: The Real Test Begins.

?

?

(Kat)

?

?

(Mia)
Mia felt the sudden shift in the room from those around her after she spoke.??They would never accept her fully as one of theirs since she didn¡¯t have a flirty affair going on with anyone.??She did find Ireland attractive and even tried flirty with her on the roof a couple nights earlier, but the woman didn¡¯t seem receptive.

?

Then Mr. Chord said something about disbanding the project all together.??She knew they had failed, but really that badly.??She overheard Gen¡¯s comment about being perfect, ¡°I am far from perfect.¡±??She said in response as Ms. Harrison and Mr. Chord left the room and she was handed an envelope.??She got up from the table and went to a window away from everyone else and opened the envelope.??Simply said, ¡°Meet me on the roof, please.??Ms. H¡±??Mia wondered what she had done to impress the woman who only a few days ago had more or less told her she could leave.

?

She turned to the group as she folded the note and slipped it into her pocket, ¡°Well, it seems that you all clearly don¡¯t like me for whatever reason.??So, I am just going to say my goodbyes, thank you, and good luck.¡±??With that she left the conference room and headed for the elevator.??She just didn¡¯t understand why she never fit in anywhere and she was tired of trying when others wouldn¡¯t take the time to get to know her.

?

(Ireland)

?

Ireland wasn¡¯t at all surprised what happened next.?

?

Brandon and his punk ass only made things worse. Even in this moment he has a chance to be a leader and he blew it. Running away for invoking all the sympathy he needed and making things worse...setting the rest of the off.

?

Now Kat was crying, Gen was getting catty with his comments and Kites was pushing the rest of them away.

?

Gaw...Ireland tried really hard not to roll her eyes at the level of melodrama that was playing out before her. These people had known each for all of what...36 whole hours and they were acting like the had been friends since birth and Chord and Harry had just cruelly ripped them apart and sent then out to the wolves...not just told them to go home.

?

Surely they knew It was possible for life any friendship and budding relationships for them to continue to exist beyond any ideas that MC3 had plan for them.?They must all be really young...and virgins...otherwise she had no understanding why they would all act this...this...dramatic. Because this was just too much for her.?

?

She kept her face and body language unreadable as the scene unfolded before her. She was even good and didn¡¯t laugh in Gen¡¯s face when he looked at she and Mia in disgust...and spat out his words towards them.?

?

Out of all of them, he was the one who was hard to take... she was so wrong about him. The other day, when he helped her out with that jerk, He seemed so cool and sweet and nice....Even Frankie like him And Frankie never liked anyone.?She wanted to get to know him more...

?

But now...after hooking up with that Kites guy...he wasnt the same guy. He was now catty, disrespectful and rude...he had turned into a mean girl...just like Kites. And Ireland didn¡¯t do mean girls.?

?

When Mia said what she said and walk out. Ireland felt bad for her. Mia had just openly expressed just how much they made her feel left out. She?wondered if any of them would care.?

?

They had their cliques and dicks...and Mia wasnt apart of that before...that was obvious yesterday and now since she had proven herself as free independent thinker...it was probably even more so for this group now.

?

¡°Thanks Gen. The way you just spat those words out, the look of disgust in your eyes as you looked at me and Mia while you said, made it oh so believable.¡± She said standing up.?

?

Ireland moved to the door, ?¡°The other day when I meet you...When you helped me with that jerk. I thought you were so cool. Right now...in this moment...not so much.¡±

?

¡°It was nice to meet you Kat. Since you and Brandon are now a thing, I¡¯ll probably see you again. Hey Mia, wait up.¡± She said leaving the room. She caught with Mia at the elevator.

?

¡°Hey...you okay?¡± Ireland asked

?
