He spoke to the water in a gentle tone that wasn’t english. “What do you want,” came the reply in his head.? “Please check and see if there are mermen down below?”? Re: Disaster Cruise: Your ticket to adventure (Catherine, Marco, Valentina, Stan, Maya, open)
(Marco Lastra) Marco exited the Sandals Royal Bahamian and stepped into a waiting taxi. He tossed the small backpack into the seat next to him. His entire needs for a short voyage at sea amounted to very little.? ? His short stay at the Sandals had been a welcome break from his business activities in the US. His last adventure in the Alps seemed a distant memory. He looked forward to diving in the Azure waters of the Caribbean.? ? He’d learned to Scuba dive in Portofino many years ago and had revisited the area several times over the years. Now he avoided Italy and decided to give the Caribbean a shot.?A colleague had mentioned a cruise that ventured to remote isles and celebrated one of the best undersea experiences.? ? His week in Nassau had been uneventful. He’d spent two days scuba diving off the Schoolhouse Reef. The thrilling dives had left him energized and looking forward to more fun.? ? The intimate confines of the Seven Sisters almost put him off but a reference to the human condition would not hurt him. He could behave himself for an extended time if the need was worth the adventure. ? He had not had to worry about the paparazzi. His whereabouts had gone undetected so far and that made the trip that much more enjoyable.? ? The taxi dropped him off at a large marina. It didn’t take binoculars to pick out the Seven Sisters. It loomed large at the extended pier.? ? A steward greeted him at the gangway. Marco presented his passport and the golden embossed ticket.?“Welcome aboard the Seven Sisters Mr. Lastra.? We do hope you enjoy the cruise.” ? “We shall soon find out,” Marco replied. He looked down at the water that glistened below the gangway. It was clear and he could see some movement as multiple fish darted in and out of the shadows. The sun beat down on his sun browned skin but a fresh breeze off the ocean kept him cool. ? He climbed aboard the small craft and wondered again what he had been thinking. The vessel was tiny compared to the vast girth of modern cruise ships. The schooner was glorious in person and he spent a few moments just absorbing all the detail of rigging and polished wood surfaces.? ? “This way to your cabin then you may be free to walk about the boat.” ? Marco nodded irritably. “Okay, lead the way.” He ducked his head at the passageway entrance and smiled grimly, he’d have to watch his head on this rig. ? The cabin was cramped, just what he’d been expecting. A bed, a small desk with a small chair and that was it. He did manage to have a small portal to view the sea.? ? The sound of a large boat approaching came through the stout timbers of the Seven Sisters. The steward spread his feet wide as the schooner listed one way then the other at the big cruiser’s wake. Marco had just enough sense to grab a post before being tossed about his own cabin. ? The steward nodded his approval with a small smile. “These rookie pilots don’t follow the speed requirements.”? He pointed towards the stern.? ? “A community shower is down the hall sir you can’t miss it. Dinner at six. We will set sail as soon as all the passengers are aboard. A short introduction by the Captain will commence just prior to our departure.” ? “Thanks,” Marco growled. He handed the steward a fifty. “See you on deck shortly.” “YES SIR,” said the steward with a renewed bounce in his step. ? (Valentina Mendoza) US Army Field Base - Somewhere in Iraq Afternoon ? It was supposed to be a random Op, nothing out of the ordinary. The recon team would have been gone for just a couple of days. Valentina enjoyed moments like that. Less people in the camp, more time to focus on the maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. There was still a sense of routine and camaraderie off course, but less of the pressure, less of the noise and the macho bravado. ? She wasn’t quite sure what happened to fuck that all up. There had been no telltale signs, no nothing. One minute she was working on the engine of a truck and the next, there was nothing but chaos, fire and hell. Everywhere around her there was ash and smoke. People were screaming but she couldn’t hear them, couldn’t hear anything but that insistent ringing in her ears. ? It was strange, the things you tended to focus on in moments like that. There were a lot of casualties, without a doubt. So much death and destruction. The kind that should have paralyzed her but instead she tried to move, mind jumping into focus, training kicking in. She tried to get up, tried to move but then realized she couldn’t. It didn’t make sense at first. Not understanding why something that seemed so simple before couldn’t be done now. She just couldn’t do it and that was frustrating. Running on nothing but sheer adrenaline. ? It wasn’t until the second explosion went on that everything went dark again. ? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It had all gone to ratshit so damn fast. ? Coming in, the scene below them had been utter devastation, there was now a crater where tents used to be, he could see clear and overt areas of fire damage and mass destruction. As he would find out later, all caused by explosives inventively hidden and successfully deployed before anyone had time to discover them. ? Clearly people were still alive down there, they could be seen fire-fighting and hauling ass down below as the two HH-60M Medevac Blackhawks flew in to the rescue. Jack watched the soldiers move as the hello’s landed and he tried to assess the situation as best he could until given permission to put boots on the ground. ? There was still fighting going on, the enemy insurgents having taken advantage of the initial chaos, but the core center of the small base of operations (what was left of it) was protected now. They had a safe place to land, and a team already assessing casualties on the ground. They were ready, and the worst of the wounded were waiting. --- Six casualties fitted into the Blackhawk, only two of those inbound were still conscious, and one of those was howling like a wolf. Jack settled him down first, checked his wounds were all patched and set him a morphine drip. When he was quiet, only then did he move over to his other waking patient. ? Fuck. He knew this one. Hadn’t seen her for a good while, but he remembered her well enough. Valentina Grace Mendoza. Daughter of the renowned Captain Elias Mendoza, though that wasn’t why Jack knew her. They’d been through Boot together, nearly eight years previous. ? “Hey,” he said, gifting a smile to the woman who was strapped securely into a stretcher and totally immobilized. “You’re gonna be okay, Vali. I got ya.” ? He rested a calm hand on her forehead lightly, checked all her straps were tight and solid, and ensured she wasn’t moving anywhere when they took off. Then he set up the IV, morphine for the pain and checked her over carefully. ? “You’re gonna be okay.” Her leg looked seriously fucked, there was blood soaked into every part of her and her face was charred, but yeah. She’d survived this far. Jack was confident she’d make it home, one way or another, and his voice implied the same. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Present Day This trip had been meant as an escape. A way out. Valentina was used to travelling, she was used to seeing the world, but all of this? It was not her usual way of living. Staring out at the open water the young woman couldn’t help but wonder what the hell she was doing here, right now, in this very moment. Running away from her problems wouldn’t solve. It wouldn’t change how fucked up her body still was, even after all these months. ? She wasn’t the same anymore and would never be the same again so why even bother trying? It wouldn’t amount to anything and would end up making her even more unhappy. Without a purpose, a real goal. Before she had been trying to save her country, before she had made a difference. Going on holiday it didn’t mean anything. It was random. ? Better make the best of it right? Use this as an opportunity to get her solid ground back again. But that was hard to do and while she was trying as hard as she possibly could, it wouldn’t be easy though. It never was. ? (Stan Kelley) “This had better be the best fucking vacay I ever took,” Stan muttered to himself. ?“Can’t be worse than the trip here…” The last 24 or so hours had been hell. ? His manager, after she had nagged him to take a break from the nonstop touring and promoting, finally arranged a cruise…of sorts.? This wasn’t one of those ginormous building sized monster ships that was part hotel and part shopping mall.? No, this was an actual sailboat.? It had room for only 24 passengers.? There was no shuffleboard, no casino, no high-end stores selling overpriced garbage.? This was a real ship.? Cool.? Sounded great.? Right up his alley. ? Everything fell apart as soon as he hit Montgomery, Alabama.? There was a computer glitch on their end, and suddenly they had no record of his flight.? Fuck!? He checked around, and there was no other flight available to Miami, from where he’d transfer to a sea plane to get to Nassau.? Fuckity fuck! ? With no other option available, he called his agent.? It was godawful at night, so she answered with a garbled “Hello?”, which sounded more like “Dude what the fuck?”. ? “I’m stranded in Montgomery,” he had said. ?“There’s no connecting flight to Miami, and there won’t be one until later.? What do I do?” ? After the longest pause (where he had assumed, she was plotting his demise), she finally said “Okay, gimmie an hour…I’ll see what I can come up with.” Fine.? An hour, he could do.? He tooled around a bit, got a cookie from the airport knock-off of Starbucks, got some water to wash it down a little after that, scribbled some lyric ideas—his phone went off.? He answered. ? “驰别补丑?” “Okay, I solved the problem, I think,” his agent started. ?“There’s a chartered flight company that can make the trip on short notice.? One question: ?How do you feel about single engine planes?” ? Everything in Stan’s body seemed to drop into his crotch.? From what he had heard, single engine planes were as INTENSE as it got in the world of flying short of fighter planes.? Not wanting to sound like a wimp, he of course had said “no problem.” ? So, he went to the part of the airport where you waited for chartered flights.? No metal detectors, nothing.? Just a “hey there”, and they took his name down, and confirmed his flight.? At least this sounded okay, so far. Then he met Daryl the Pilot, and his wind-up prop-plane. ? Daryl the Pilot was in a leather jacket, and wore a baseball cap with the word “Zildjian” on it.? Zildjian was a name familiar to him.? They made cymbals.? So, this dude had a friend in a band, right? ? Wrong!? He was in a band, as a drummer.? A cover band…lowest form of life on the rock & roll food chain, and the first red flag Stan had about this guy.? Danger!? Danger!? Danger! ? Then there was the plane…what was best described as a canoe with wings.? The door, unlike the vault-like seal-you-in ones real airplanes had, looked like it belonged on a golf cart, and would fall off the moment he opened it.? There was barely room for his duffel and backpack in the cargo bay.? He squeezed himself into the seat, and shut the door with a pitiful “click”. ? The engine started with a cough, and it spun up to a lethargic buzz, as the plane started to tool around the airport.? Daryl looked like he was lost in midtown as he peered out of the cockpit.? Finally, after dodging larger passenger planes, they lined up behind some other small planes.? When it was finally their turn, they began their run.? Stan swore that he could walk faster than this plane was going, yet somehow—perhaps a stiff breeze at the right time—they were airborne. ? Stan was grateful he had used the men’s room before takeoff.? This was terrifying.? The plane shook every time they took a course correction, and he was wondering what kind of pilot Daryl was, as he TOOK HIS HANDS OFF THE CONTROLS TO LOOK AT A MAP.? Then, about an hour or so into this nightmare trip, Daryl the Pilot uttered the one phrase you never wanted to hear from the pilot…“Uh-oh.” ? That sinking feeling was back. ?“What do you mean ‘uh-oh’?” “Well…it’s like this,” Daryl said sheepishly. ?“I forgot to fuel up the plane back in Montgomery, and now we’re near empty.? We need to set down ASAP.? Don’t worry, I’m on this.” ? “Sure…” Stan said externally.? Internally he was whimpering “ohgodi’mgoingtodie”.? And with that, Daryl the Pilot got onto the radio to cry for help. ? Real passenger planes gently descended into airports.? Not this single engine suicide machine.? He swore that they went 90° straight down and came to a stop in the span of two parking spaces.? His stomach was somewhere else at that moment—probably still going to Miami.? He was now in some remote airstrip called Carabelle Thompson Airport in the town of Carabelle.? Population: ?2,700. ? They had to wait for someone to come down to open the airport (I shit you not!) before Daryl could refuel the plane.? Of course, there was no cell signal, so he had to wait for some lady to come down in her pickup and unlock the pump. ? Stan took the time to go into this lady’s office and call up his agent with what had been happening all night.? Then she hit him with a bombshell… ? “Stan…Daryl isn’t a pilot.” Well, that explained a lot, he thought. ? “I made a terrible mistake,” she admitted. ?“I didn’t call the charter place, but an aircraft maintenance depot.? Daryl has a training license, and he worked there.? He’s a groupie fanboy, Stan.? He must’ve heard your name dropped when I called, grabbed a plane, and…well, he didn’t even properly log the flight, and he’s in deep shit.” “So…what now?” he asked. ?“You have a plan, right?” “Yeah, I most certainly do,” she said. ?“Stay put.? Definitely do NOT get back on the plane with Daryl—” “No shit,” Stan confirmed. ? His agent continued with a sigh. ?“I’ve already contacted a real charter that can take you to Nassau directly.? They can be there in an hour.” “翱办补测.” Shortly afterward, Daryl came in, pleased as punch that he had managed to refuel the winged canoe.? He was rather crestfallen when Stan told him he wasn’t going anywhere with him anymore. ? Four hours later, after a more comfortable two engine seaplane ride.? He was at the slip of the Seven Sisters and ready to board.? The scene looked idyllic—almost like an Andy Warhol portrait.? After everything that happened to get here, he thought.? Well…at least the hard part’s over. ? (Maya Mononobe) When Maya received a letter from the Seven Sisters cruise line, it was first picked up and examined by her guards.? Once opened, it had gone through several safety tests.? Was there any kind of powder on it?? Knock out scents?? Was the paper or the ink poisoned?? Who sent it, fake or real persons?? Any and all fingers prints that touched the paper in anyway were investigated, peoples' identities pulled up, all to ensure that it wasn't someone out to get Maya.? And oh, she had plenty of competitors who would've loved to be in her seat, so one could never be too careful.? In any case, being the Mononobe clan leader's only granddaughter, nothing was too far to ensure the safety of their baby girl.? So, when the message finally reached her, it was one of Maya's guards who entered her room, only after Maya allowed them to come in, knocking with two heavy raps and three light ones. ? "Enter," an elegant, feminine voice called out from the inside.? The Mononobe daughter's room was lavish, a suite that was big enough to house a small office.? Her windows faced out into the ocean, the silken and gossamer like curtains gently swaying in the breeze.? The space was divided into several sections, one for private bathing with a hot tub tucked into a corner and hidden by a tall, bamboo privacy divider.? Another as an office with multiple computers and electronics expertly arranged in a semi-circle.? Third contained a library of sorts where various high-level education and business books were neatly arranged by type, topic, and lastly by author.? There were volumes in multiple different languages, a par due course for someone who was internationally desired.? Then, yet another chunk of the room was set aside as bedroom space, like the bathing room, it had its own bamboo screens containing a king size bed with tons of pillows and cloudy, puffy blankets.? Aside from the cut and dry items, Mara's room was filled with natural bamboo, plants of various types, its greenery providing a type of serene-ness that the cresting ocean waves could not.? When the guard entered the room, however, that's where the fantasy began and ended. ? Maya was absolutely domestically challenged.? Her floor was littered about with clothes left where they were dropped.? Stuffed bears and various other plushies were strewn about as if a battle took place and one was now looking upon a place of utter carnage.? The bed was a mess, blankets falling off the sides, pillow likewise on the floor and throw into a corner, sheets in disarray.? To say the least, there was not a care in the world nor a thought spared in keeping anything in a nice orderly fashion, that is however, unless the matter involving said neatness had something to do with business and of that, she kept everything in a meticulous, OCD-like manner.? Not a single page was out of line when it came to documentation and business contracts. ? So, there she stood, arms crossed, looking through the windows in the ocean.? One could tell that Maya was tired, but only one who had the most intimate knowledge of Maya's life and guarded her with theirs.? She always stood rigidly straight, her head held high and shoulders back, her chest jut out in a full display of sex appeal and elegance, and of course, maximum level of confidence.? She seemed so focused on something outside that when the guard entered the room, closing the door, she didn't even flinch nor acknowledge their presence in any way except a side eyed glance in their direction, then back to the ocean. ? "Mayasama, you have a received a letter from X brand make up, giving you a complimentary seven-day cruise in the Bahamas from your last modeling session," the woman guard said, one of Maya's most trusted confidantes.? She read off the rest of the letter, with Maya saying not a word nor moving until the woman finished speaking, finally turning around as a smirk made its way onto her face.? The woman took a deep bow, stretching out her hands above her head as she offered her charge the letterhead. ? "Hmph, took them long enough.? It seems they finally realized how much business the Mononobe name can bring to their business," she huffily said, running her right hand through her long, luscious locks, letting the strands fall back down like a waterfall.? Delicately taking the letter out of her guard's hands, Maya examined it, her eyes moving back and forth as she reread the contents.? The woman then offered her some pamphlets, as thoroughly examined as anything else, as Maya too scanned them through.? "This is the best they could offer?? A tiny "schooner?"? How do they expect that canoe to travel on the ocean?? Ridiculous.? My smallest cruiser is twice is big.? Insulting.”? It wasn't until Maya finished that the guard raised her head and straightened out.? She stood at attention, her eyes unblinking and unwavering from her charge's form. "What shall I send back as your answer, Mayasama?" ? Maya sighed and rolled her eyes, loosening her fingers as she let the letter fall down to the floor.? She stepped onto it with her Stuart Weitzman diamond studded heels and rubbed it in, ripping and tearing the letterhead in several place. ? "What else?? If they weren't as reputable as they sell themselves as, I wouldn't even look twice," the heiress scathingly answered, harrumphing as she turned away from the guard and looked back out into the ocean.? "You know what to do.? Now get out of my sight." -------------------- A day and a ride on the Mononobe private jet, Maya finally landed at the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau.? The wealthy socialite had stepped out into the sun, her Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses resting faithfully upon her nose.? She was clothed in a turquoise, short sleeveless charmeuse dress with gold printed flocked leaves.? On her feet, she wore diamond studded wicker woven D&G wedges, with a single 5 carat sapphire over each ankle strap.? Her hair, which she typically wore loose, cascaded over her back like a black diamond waterfall, its luster was thanks to various deep conditioning creams and masks that she used on a daily basis. ? "Ah, we are finally here...at last.? Now, where is this canoe that I am meant to board?"? Without further ado, Maya's bodyguards took their place beside her, each at her side, tons of luggage in convoy behind them.? The same woman who first presented the letter to Maya just a day ago, came out from behind and handled Maya's entry to the port, as well as arranged transportation to the schooner that was awaiting its passengers.? A couple of hours, after having to hire a single car for her carry-ons alone, the entourage had arrived at the dock to the Seven Sisters schooner.? As the socialite once again stepped out from the cool interior, she froze in place, one arm lowering her glasses as she peered at she was meant to board.? Just as she lifted her sunglasses back up, a ship stewardess had promptly arrived, immediately greeted by Maya's confidante. ? "Good afternoon, and welcome to our port city of Nassau, Ms. Mononobe!? We are so blessed to have been graced with your presence.? Do you have your boarding passes in hand so that we can get you quickly checked in?"? Maya elegantly smiled, taking out the golden ticket out of her clutch, as the confidante and the two bodyguards presented theirs in tune. ? "I am ready and prepared, Ms. Turner, and I am very happy to be here.? With so much business to take care, I felt it that I was overdue for a bit of a vacation.? Don't you think?" Maya answered in fluent English, handing the woman her pass.? "Ms. Saotome here will take over handling all of our check-ins.? Would it be possible to be shown to my cabin now?? I've had a long flight and I would love to settle in before we depart."? The stewardess, now revealed as Ms. Turner, smugly smirked as she snapped her fingers twice and two bellboys appeared by her side, as impeccably dressed as she was. ? "Boys, please show Ms. Mononobe and her lovely entourage to their cabins.? Make sure that she is settled in proper, and give her anything that she needs to be comfortable.? Now, hop to it!"? The youths bowed to Ms. Turner whose face returned back into a relaxed smile as Saotome started the check-in process for everyone.? Another several hours later, Maya was settled in whatever meager settings that they called a luxury cabin, having to spread her clothes out in all 4 rooms that she and her guards have occupied due to the sheer amount of clothes that she had taken with her.? One could never be too careful for any kind of event that could occur, even one that she was meant to relax in.? Once she was done, she stepped onto the deck, walking up to the bow of the ship, gripping the steel barrier as she looked out into the water.? As she turned her head to look over the port, a soft, warm breeze passed through, ruffling Maya's tresses as if they were curtains, like the ones in her Japanese home. ? "Well, I suppose we could learn to enjoy this trip.? It is, after all, paid for by the X brand.? Isn't that so, Higashisan?? What's the worst that could happen?"? Maya looked to the bodyguard that was with her, a thuggish looking man with a scarred face and freshly shaven head.? He looked as if he could snap a tree trunk in half with his bulging muscles. "Yes, Mayasama.? I am sure that this is going to be a pleasant trip.” ? (Cat) Cat and Cece had finally arrived at the harbor and the small schooner.? Cat took a moment and reread the letter.? “They have all of this on that?? This is going to be interesting.? Must be more below the water line than we see….” She paused in her speaking when she saw a few of the passengers.? “Cece, is that the lead of the Primitives or am I seeing things?”? Cece looked, “nope, that looks like him.”? Cat had to stop herself from squealing and running over to him.? “He is just like everyone else, he’s just like everyone else.” She kept repeating as they made their way to the dock and the waiting attendants. ? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ A short time later after their belongings were stowed in their small cabin, the two gals made their way to the top deck and waited to see what was going to happen next and who else they might see on board. |
Re: Raconteur City: The Divine Pleasure (Luke, Lira)
(Luke) Luke woke from his dream. He twisted out of bed and stood swaying. What was it? He’d been under water and something had been chasing him. He’d dove very deep. The weight of the sea had pressed down so that he could barely breathe. In the dark depths he found a light in the foggy distance. With desperation he’d swam for the light but it kept moving away. Then something large loomed over him and he couldn’t breathe at all. Sea water rushed down his mouth and he limp.? He shook off the dream and made a cold breakfast. He moved to get ready for the day. Another group was coming for a glorious day of fishing. Outside the sun was still just a blur of orange soon to eclipse the world. He checked over the side. The gulf water was dark and suddenly mysterious. Someone had gotten on his boat and gone through his papers. It wasn’t what he would have expected from a cartel poised to strike. But if it wasn’t them who was it? Perhaps a local youth with too much time on his hands. Yet there was that fish like fin.? “Skipper,” Tiger called. “Permission to come aboard?” “Always,’"Luke said with a laugh. As usual Tiger was stunning. Her dark skin glistened in the early morning sun. There was plenty of skin to see as she wore a pair of cutoff jeans and a tight cotton shirt with a bare midriff.? “You know if there are any ladies today they will be mad as hell you are dressed like that.” “They are all guys and besides, how do you expect me to dress out here in the hot sun?” “I suppose.” “Find out anything about our intruder?” “Not really. There was a fuzzy image on the parking lot vid but it is poor quality.” “Nothing is missing right?” Tiger’s voice was anxious. “Not that I can tell. Maybe it is a local kid messing around.” “Could be.” The reservation group arrived and they started another day of work. Being out on the Gulf fishing really wasn’t much work for Luke. (Lira)
Lira and two others followed the boat out of the harbor and into the open ocean. It went for a while, but finally stopped in what was the siren's main hunting grounds. The anchor was dropped over board and suddenly there were lines with hooks and bait in the water. Lira signaled to the other two. Lira had noticed cameras on the bottom of the boat and before they were seen, she undid the wiring so that there cameras failed. They made quick work of the bait. They gently and quickly removed the bait, dropping it into the depth below, then gave the lines a good tug to indicate they had something on them. As the fishermen on board started to reel in the lines, Lira and the others played a small game of tug and war, before finally letting the hooks go and the people on the boat pulled up empty lines. This happened every time a line was dropped into the water. Tag: Luke, Tiger |
Re: Port Vega: Meet & Greet Dinner (Posting Order: Aurora, Devi, Lightening Rod, Photon, Mara, NPCs)
(Aurora) Aurora walked to the dining room in the Benders of Light mansion.? All was prepared for the new comers to be introduced to the group.? She was glad to have a few new comers, it was time to start moving forward with the team and start making themselves known in the town of Port Vega. (Devi) Devilynn Josephine Shellito had never thought that she would have been asked to join a group of criminals. Well those that skirted the law. Still she found it interesting that she was asked. Devi had been thinking on her way home that night if she was going to wear a costume. She hoped so cause she had already decided what she wanted. The fact that she had already started to make one, didn't matter. Devi had gotten ready earlier and had spent the rest of the day going over paper work till it was time to go. Devi was always on time unless she planned on being late. Which tonight was not one of them. She made her way to her garage, got in her car and headed out.? It didn't take long to arrive at the mansion. She pulled up and made her way inside. All the while taking in everything she could. Letting her body find the natural?rhythm of the surrounding area. This way if she had to go quickly, she could. She made her way up to the door and rang the bell. (Lightning Rod) Roddy was impressed when he saw the mansion.? "Maybe these Bender-clowns are serious," he murmured as he rode his motorcycle up the illuminated driveway, stopping at the bottom of the marble stone steps leading up to the entrance.? He tossed his keys to what he assumed was a parking attendant of some kind in spite of the fancy suit the man was wearing.??"Not a scratch if you want a tip, Jeeves," he said theatrically as he started up the steps. He didn't see any other cars nearby and frowned, wondering if he was early. But then shrugged.? "Probably just wanting to be fashionably late," he muttered.? He noticed a girl standing by the door ringing the bell.? "Well, at least I'm not the first one to show," he said, giving the tall polished doors an appraising look over. He looked back to the girl, trying to assess her as well.? She didn't exactly radiate menace, which he found disappointing. He was hoping for more.?"So, you here for the meet'n'greet?" he asked, trying to sound like he did this sort of thing all the time. Tag: Photon, Mara |
Re: Blood Bonds: Getting to know Paris (Draven, Nicolette)
(Nicolette Allucard) Nicolette ran smoothly, her legs running as fast as her legs could carry her, a nice sheen of perspiration gleamed off her skin giving her the appearance of a healthy glow. Her chest heaved, her breathing a steady pant. Her ponytail blowing in the wind she created as she ran with the speed and agility of years of training. As she made her way through the streets of New York City, her mind simply wasn’t in it tonight. Thoughts of the last raid plagued her mind. Everything had been planned down to the last meticulous detail…and yet. And yet they knew they were coming. Which told her one thing…she had a Judas in her mist. The question was who. Everyone who work with her was personal vetted by one of her trusted seconds…which meant there was either an issue with the vetting process or one of her seconds had flipped. ?Neither prospect offered any comfort. Nicolette finished her run at the larger double Mahogany doors of her townhouse to find her trusted bodyguard Franklin waiting for her.
“Not as good as I would have like.” Nicolette said taking the offered towel from him, entering the house. “Is there anything you would like me to do, miss?” Franklin asked. “Just make sure I am out the door no later than half past the hour. I would like to be fashionably late, not rude,” she said as she walked up the stairs to her room “Indeed, madame.” --- Nicolette arrived at the gala late. This was to be the night that the guest from America would be introduce to the fold. His big European coming out as it were and anyone who was any one was expected to be there. ?And since she was one of those any ones, be there she would.??The car came to a stop and the driver opened her door. She took his hand and stepped from the back. He rushed around her to open the front doors of the mansion. She looked at him with a small sexy smile. Running her hand down his face from his eyes to his chin in a soft caress, Nicolette stepped closer. So close, her tall lean body was touching his. ? “Thank you, Franklin. You do not have to wait for me tonight. I am sure I can find my own way home.” “Yes, miss,” he said blushing as she stepped away from him. “Have a good night madame.” “Thank you, Franklin, I plan to.”? Nicolette stepped in; a sexy devilish smile about her face, her long jet black hair soft flowing waves cascading down her back, the sound of her six-inch pencil stilettos rhythmically tapping her arrival upon the marble tiled floor relayed the satisfaction of her mood. Soon very soon, she thought. Before the end of this night, all the players would be in place and she would have all that she wanted and more. And then nothing would be able to stop what she intended to accomplish. When all eyes were on her, she made her entrance, slowly walking across the room; her golden gown of ivory flowed down to the floor to trail behind. Even though ever inch from neck to foot of her form was covered, the curves of her well defined and ample body were still clearly visible under the fabric. Nodding her hellos, her body moved hypnotically, ample hips swaying as she made her way over to the very person she wanted to see. As she approached from behind, she called, "Lord Thomas," she said as she stepped around, her voice like a velvet song as it floated in the air between them. Turning, she graced Draven with a breathtaking smile. “And you must be The Lord Draven Phillips.” (Draven) Thomas was introducing Draven to a few of the other members of his European district when he heard his name and he turned to see the always stunning Nicolette?Allucard.? He gave her room as she stepped up to introduce herself to the Lord. Draven drank in her beauty with his eyes as he took her hand with his and kissed the back of it and gave her a slight bow, "I am, and you are?" He asked with his own charming smile in return.? He had always been a charmer when he needed to be and at this moment, he needed to be.? He may be the guest of honor, but he was still a guest. Tag: Thomas, Nicolette |
Re: Blood Feuds: Trying to Survive (Anais, Vincent)
(Anais/Evie) She felt cold.??Anais’ eyes rolled around within her skull and her breast heaved, rising, and falling deeply, almost panting with every breath she took. Her head would have lulled to and fro except that it was being held in place by her arms.? ? The waking process was slow going for her which made her wonder what exactly they did to render her unconscious.? Her head hung back, limp upon her shoulder’s blades, lolling to and fro. Her long wheat color hair lay back behind her but would come to fall forward when her head did. Her brain throbbed and her temples hurt. Her arms were pulled high into the air. Her hands pressed together in what could only be called a prayer position. Her legs were also bound, strapped to a horizontal pole that stretched her so wide her thighs ached.? Her foggy mind tried desperately to fight off the call of exhaustion, to deal with the hazy pull that filled the fog as she fought to free herself from the blackness that wouldn’t let go. ? She groaned. Finally, after fighting hard to do so, Anais was able to keep her eyes open for longer than a minute. Only they snapped shut again at the blinding light that assaulted her eyes and the pain from her head attacked her once again. ? Truth be told, Anais wasn’t at all surprised to find that she was bound, chained--hand and foot, a spotlight shining upon her--the cuffs with no give. What she was surprised about the fact that she wasn’t gagged and blindfolded. Where was she? She couldn’t see beyond the light, but the place felt large and drafty. She guessed that would distract from the plan, whatever the plan was. ? Anais had no idea how or why she came to be in her current predicament other than the snippets she remembered. As her mind tried to clear, she began to run down those last few moments before her unconsciousness…the last thing remembered…hard to think…could remember…a party…Cate and Richard…a drink…there was something in the tea… ? Anais groaned. The twins and her brothers were going to kill her. That was if she ever saw them…again…and since she had not spoken to them in over year, she doubted they would even know she was gone. ? “Damn,” she whispered her voice light, weary.??The unexpected slap to her face was so hard it caused her cheek to burn and her face to turn with the blow. She could feel the taste of iron in her mouth and knew that she had cut her lip on her teeth. Her head turned slowly to meet those of the woman standing before. ? “Wakey, wakey,” the woman said in French, her accent thick. ? “Why am I here,” Anais replied in English. Her voice scratchy, hoarse…her eyes oozing disgust. ? “Why for Mr. Phillips of course.” Anais’ eyes narrowed. “You are wasting your time,” she said. ? “Ahh is this when you tell me you don’t know him?" the woman patronized her. "Save it. I have the intel, I know you two know each other.” ? “No, this is the part when I tell you I knew him. But those days have long since passed. He won’t come for me.”??Anais wasn’t lying either. She hadn’t spoken to Draven in ages. For all she knew he had moved on…he had most likely moved on.? It was funny, at one time she had loved him desperately, had thought he loved her the same way. She had learned the truth in the most heartbreaking of ways.?? ? The Frenchwoman laughed a laugh devoid of any real mirth and took Anais' face roughly between her thumb and forefinger. And when their lips practically touched, she said “For your sake, he better come or you’re a dead woman.” ? Anais smirked at that. “En fait, l’amour, pour votre bien, il vaut mieux ne pas parce que si je vis, vous êtes la femme morte.” ("In fact, love, for your sake, you better not because if I live you are the dead woman.") ?
The woman smirked and slapped Anais hard, once more. ? Damn but she was really going to have to learn how to hold her tongue, Anais thought.? ? Vivienne walked away from Anais. After a quick check to make sure the other cargo was secured, she left the room moving into the main residence of this plantation. Walking inside, she moved through the house to the study. Coming inside to stand before her Master, Lord Vincent. “All the cargo is secured. We are ready to start conditioning when you give the order sir.” (Vincent) Vincent had been going over the recent resident's papers when Vivienne came in.? He had many buyers already lined up for their chattel...all save one.? That one, Vincent was keeping for himself.? "Very well, lead the way." He followed the woman to a room where the males were being held.? Most of them chained in various ways.? All were nude, save for a cloth over their genitals.? He walked along and gave each one a look over.? Most were coming too and trying to comprehend where they were.? "Looks good in here, now show me the women."? With a smile, Vivienne lead him to another large room.? The women were chained and dressed in robes that were easy to remove.? He walked along, but didn't see Anais. "And where is the Lady Anais?" He demanded.? Vivienne indicated a door and followed Vincent through it.? Before she knew what hit her, she was backhanded and dropped to the floor, "I TOLD YOU, NO HARM WAS TO COME TO HER!!! NOW, get her down."? He stood while he waited for Vivienne to untie and get Anais out of the bondage she was currently in. Tag: Anais |
Re: Raconteur City: The Summoning (Pyp, Kutsuki)
开云体育[Kutsuki] As much as he disliked the impetuous imp, Kutsuki thoroughly enjoyed the way his name rolled off of Pyp's tongue.? Perhaps a lot more than he wanted to admit to himself.? The way it was drawn out was very seductive, yet forceful and laced with a hint of warning, but it was par due on course for him, so much that it actually made his skin tingle just for a bit.? He placed his hand thoughtfully against his lips, if only to hide the slightest rising curve of his lips, but once he took his hand away, it was if the beginning of that smile never occurred. "Fine, whatever.? I don't care.? Keep my parents' sexual escapades to yourself from now on.? I am neither curious nor interested, understand?" he said, snarling a bit at the end.? When he was corrected on?Beasophor's?name, however, the white haired youth simply rolled his eyes back.? "Bee-sophor, Beasophor.? It's all the same to me when it comes to you lot.? Just make sure you know who it is when the time comes to it.? Now, as for Isolde..."? He leaned back, closing his eyes as he waved his hand dramatically in the air, keeping the other crossed across his chest and tucked into his elbow. "That sounds like too much trouble, honestly, and a big waste of time.? I know what obsessions are like.? You can erase the memory from them, but a strong enough link will bring it back.? Unless I make myself cease to exist, which is not in the cards," he said, heaving a big sigh.? Before he could continue, however, Pyp's presence suddenly got close, setting Kutsuki's skin on pins and needles, but when Kutsuki's eyes flew open to command the demon to fall back, he was met with a mirror-like image of himself.? He froze.? It was one thing to think to see oneself in the mirror, yet never be able to see yourself as you are, and another to have your likeness sitting directly across from you, mimicking your actions just as if that was you.? It perturbed Kutsuki down to his very core, but before he even know what he was doing, he was up on his feet and in front of Pyp like lightning. His breathing quickened, fingers twitching uncontrollably.? There he was, a Kutsuki clone, sitting in much the same manner that he was just a few seconds ago.? His hair, his face, his body.? His clothing.? The way he sat..? Everything was exactly the same.? It made the real Kutsuki restless, uneasy, but also electrified.? Shocked.? Excited.? Disgusted at what he was seeing, but also secretly...delighted?? No, it couldn't be...? The normally stoic and unflappable youth now stood slightly shaking, his snake-like pupils as big as the full moon was in the sky.? Raising one hand, he first waved it over the others' form, at first, from far enough distance but then strangely turned his hand to look at his palm, visibly confused.? Next try, he brought his hand closer to the fake Kutsuki, so close that he could feel the heat coming off that body, but then instinctively pulling his arm back as if he got stung, examining his skin once again. "Strange...I don't feel it at all," he murmured, mostly to himself.? That feeling of pure revulsion...this...seizure-like sensation...it did not exist at all.? Was he imagining things?? Reaching out again, he at first gingerly touched Pyp's likeness of him, just one finger sliding across the cheek, again brought back just as fast.? Nothing at all.? But he couldn't stop.? Again, he reached out.? A couple of fingers, then more and more until his hands safely cupped the imp's face in his hands, fingers kneading the soft, white flesh.? Kutsuki could not believe it at all.? It was astonishing.? He ran his fingers through "his" hair, feeling how the strands moved out of the way.? Then he moved them down to the neck, feeling the curvature that joined into the shoulders and then coming back to the collarbone, structure jutting out as sharply as his own.? It was then that Kutsuki's eyes met Pyp's, a cloudy, stormy look of one who was absolutely caught up in the whirlwind of conflicting emotions, until his orbs moved down to Pyp's mouth, one thumb rubbing back and forth across the lower as he pulled it down and saw the same set of fanged, pearly whites.? When he finally removed his hands, he turned them palms up and examined them, turning them over and over as if he was looking for dirt. "Disgusting," he whispered, a worse that he mouthed over and over.? His senses had come back to him, thank the deities.? Fascination gone as quickly as it came, Kutsuki suddenly slapped Pyp, right hand across across the left cheek, nails forcefully scraping the flesh, leaving behind giant, red welts.? That revulsion that was gone?? Now a full tsunami wave.? How dare that fucking imp allow himself to mimic what Kutsuki held most dear - himself!? He felt sick to his stomach.? "Get out!? GET OUT!? NOW.? Get the FUCK out, and don't come back here until the morning!" (Pyp) "Careful,?Eraisama," Pyp cautioned again.? "Mispronouncing a demon's name can have dire consequences.? The demon you seek might not show up at all.? Or worse, you could get the wrong demon entirely.? And one not subject to your binding.? You're just lucky that you got me."? His face twisted into a perfect Kutsuki sneer.? "I was looking to be bound so I could stay here.? And whatever disdain you have for my name, at least it's easy to pronounce."? The demon was surprised at the effect his copied appearance was having on his summoner.? Kutsuki had made his aversion to being touched absolutely clear, and yet now the young haphephobe was reaching out in fascination and touching Pyp's Kutsuki-clone face, hair, neck and even lips.? Now _that's_ interesting, the demon thought to himself as his summoner indulged in some highly uncharacteristic touching..? _Very_ interesting indeed.?? But then just as suddenly as it had appeared, the fascination was gone and replaced with angry revulsion.? And then Kutsuki lashed out with a stinging blow across the demon's face.? To Pyp, it was akin to a bap from the tiny paw of a week-old kitten, but the demon bowed his head deferentially even as he favored his outraged summoner with a mocking smirk.? "As you wish,?Eraisama," he purred.? "I exist but to serve.? Call me when you have need of me." With that, the demon vanished - along with the chair he'd conjured - and Kutsuki was left alone with his fuming anger.?? Very interesting, Pyp thought again as he reappeared on the roof of the house.? He conjured a cigarette, lit it with a fingertip, and then took a long drag.? Very interesting indeed. Tag - Kutsuki |
Re: The Door Between Two Worlds [Roue and Rabbit] (closed)
开云体育(This is my 2nd attempt at posting.? First one seems to have not made it.) [Roue] Still feeling quite floaty, Roue simply nodded.? "Okay, sure, let's go back."? He let himself be pulled in whichever direction Rabbit was taking him in until they came through the kitchen into the tiny, hidden alcove which led to a door to Rabbit's room.? It wasn't till the hubbub of the bar environment faded into the background that the haze surrounding Roue's head got cleared.? He felt quite dizzy, rubbing his forehead as he plopped down onto his lover's bed.? Somehow, the clarity that he has been missing the past gods know how many hours he was in Palyndra's presence, came at him like a wrecking ball and he simply gave up, letting his legs dangle over the side of the bed as he let himself back onto the soft covers. "Fates...Greek?? I don't know what Greek means, but I do know of Fates.? I have to think that that is at least one pervasive force in these multiverses...Gods, how did I become tangled in all of this?" he sighed, feeling tiredness setting in.? He turned his head to look at Rabbit though, that silly little trembling thing.? He was no Palyndra, but he had his own veil of mysteriousness about him.? Indeed, what has Roue's cowardliness brought him, if not away from everything he knew and held dear?? Was this _his_ fate now?? The wizard chuckled to himself, loosing the hand from his forehead and allowing to stretch out, knuckles dusting the surface of the blanket.? Somehow, he felt himself entering this weird...mood of his... "So now that we are here, what exactly were you up to?" he asked, flipping onto his side and crossing one leg over the other.? "You said you owe someone a? debt...are you enslaved?? Do you need help getting out?? Wait...is that why are you work here?" "I'm not in, uhm, enslaved or nothin'," Rabbit said, crawling onto the bed and stretching out on his side so that he was facing Roue.? His young face grew serious as he tried to explain the situation. "And that ain' why I, uhm, you know, w-work here.? I work here 'cause it's s-safe. And I got friends here. S-sorta anyways." The little vampire fidgeted a bit, feeling the need for closer contact, for the comforting warmth of the elf's body.? He scooted closer on the bed until they were almost face to face, moving his right leg so that it became entwined with Roue's. He reached up and began to run his fingers through his lover's long silken locks, paying attention to the delicate outlines of Roue's pointed ears. "But like I t-told you," he went on, "information is the most valuable thing in the Dionysus.? And if you want information, you g-gotta, you know, have something to trade for it.? Some folks've got information to trade, but I usually don' really have nothin' like that.? Some folks have money, lots of money, that sometimes can buy information, but I ain' got any of that to speak of n-neither.? And some folks've got, you know, power out in the world, and so they trade favors for information. Or for other favors.? Depending on what it is they, you know, w-want." Rabbit scooted closer still, until he was snuggling along Roue's warm side, resting his head on his lover's chest, listening to the other's heartbeat for a long moment.? "I ain' got n-none of them things.? All I've got to trade for stuff is, uhm, me.? You know, like doin' p-personal favors.? Sometimes it's simple things.? Like, you know, s-sex stuff."? His voice trailed off to a whisper and he didn't look up as he said it.? "That's easy.? But sometimes it's more, you know, complicated."?? "I was paying off a complicated favor," Rabbit went on, sighing a bit.? "That's why I was gone so long. But I also asked some questions, and so now I owe another f-favor." The little vampire propped himself up on an elbow so that he could meet Roue's gaze.? "But I got some information for it.? Stuff you probably will wanna know."? He ran his fingers down the elf's ear and then across his delicate cheek. "But if'n I tell you," he murmured, looking wistful and serious at the same time, "I might need your help payin' off that favor.? So, do you w-wanna know?? What I f-found out, I mean?" Tag - Roue |

Luke woke from his dream. “Permission to come aboard?” “Always,’ Luke said with a laugh. |

Maybe it is a local kid messing around.” “Could be.” The reservation group arrived and they started another day of work. Being out on the Gulf fishing really wasn’t much work for Luke.

Re: Whispers in the Dark - Scheherazade, Callum
开云体育-Arowyn- Arowyn Smiled as she and Callum rode along the countryside. It was so beautiful here. She always loved coming to visit. When they stopped to walk, she nodded as listen to Callum point out all the ways in which the keep with having a good year. It was good to hear the happiness in his voice. See him smile again. And then it all changed. His head dropped and the sadness return. Instantly she came to him. Taking him into her arms again. Cooing softly at him. “It will all be alright. I promise. I am here and I am not leaving until l see you smile again.” Callum lost himself willingly in the comfort of his sister-in-law's arms. It was the first time in months that anyone had embraced him with warmth or compassion.? "Dearest Arowyn,", he murmured, holding her close.? "Ah wish she were you right now, here with me right now instead of closing herself off from me in her tower."? He brushed his face against her hair.? "God help me, you smell so much like her it's maddening."? It took a supreme effort of will for the laird to ease his hold and let some daylight spill between them.? He looked down, embarrassed.? "Forgive me, sister.? Ah... ah spoke most improperly." (Kirstene) The door opened. Letting Jaimie know he could enter. She didn’t talk often anymore. And she never smiled. In the months following the death of the twins, if Mistress Kirstene left the tower at all, it was to visit the graves of the boys. She had buried them in the garden. She wanted them to be surround with pretty things.? She had unofficially moved out of the room she shared with Callum about six months after she lost the twins. It wasn't done on purpose it just happened. Being in the tower allowed her to see the boys even when she just didn’t have the strength to go out to them.? In the beginning Callum would go to the grave with her. He even would come to the tower with her and just sit. Now they barely saw each other. She... spending much of her hours in the tower, he doing what he did. For He wanted life to go back to normal. He didn’t understand that life would never be normal again. “I am fine, Jaimie,” she said as she stared out the window. the sadness in her voice heavy. ?The tray of food he brought her earlier remained untouched. ?“You can take the tray away,” ?She said never turning to him. ?“Is the Laird about? And Arowyn?” (Jaimie) Jaimie moved to collect the ignored tray and return it to the kitchen, but paused when the lady addressed him with a question.? He hesitated, glad that she was not looking his way lest his face betray him in some way.?? "Laird callum wis showing mistress Arowyn th' an aberdonian`s burd whin ah lest saw him, Mistress Kirstene," the young Scot managed to say.? "Dae... Dae ye wish me tae gang 'n' fin' him?? Re: High Moon Tales. Tales of the Wicked West.
开云体育?(Charity) As the sun set, from the caves, mines, and dark spaces throughout the foothills bats set forth, spreading their leathery wings into the night. They clustered near their prey, the swarms of tiny scavengers haunting the dead of Bendo. The flapping of their wings as they twirled and spun in a feeding frenzy, alone with their high pitched voices, merged into a barely audible hum. More importantly, to Charity, was their 'sight' of the landscape. As she danced and spun she listened to their voices drifting to her on the winds. It was not so much what was reflecting their tiny calls back to them, prey and obstacles, but what was not. Slightly over a mile from Millers Crossing, along the Bendo coach road, was a spherical void in the bat's perception of the night. It appeared to Charity that the skeletal remains of Bendo would reach that void some time between midnight and dawn. "Found you," she whispered. "My only regret is that you will be downwind of your demise and you will smell it approaching. Sleep well!" Charity laughed. (Chase) His senses were keen, animal like.? In truth of all of his senses he hated his sense of smell most of all.? He could tell when he needed a bath and others too.? But he was able to also sense minute scents, sex, arousal, fear, he couldn’t since anger probably because he was angry most of the time so he could never tell if it was someone else or him.? But some emotions or activities gave off certain scents….including death.? The problem with that was sometimes dead things didn’t stay dead!? Something he was first hand acquainted with.? He heard Flynn and turned to him, hearing his words and his own senses confirmed it.? It moved on the air, something about what the homoculi said that still had him focused on the fact that all of them were needed…so all of them had to die! ? He knew they needed to get to Miller’s Crossing to stop it, but that was going to be difficult if they couldn’t get there!? He had scavenged enough bullets, but he also had a sword in his pack that the woman Etienne might find handy if she was less apt to use a gun.? It might be safe for all, if she wasn’t firearm adept.? He was not sure they were going to be good here.? They needed to be on the move but their protective shield in the form of Flynn needed a recharge.? Chase wasn’t at all sure if he was protecting them he had enough juice to move them just yet either. ? ‘This is definitely not how I wanted to meet my maker.’? He smirked to himself and moved to his horse, he grabbed the extra shells and loaded his rifle and guns.? All of those that he had before pulling out his knife that was more akin to a short sword for someone smaller.? He thought about what was possibly about to happen, head shots for the walking dead, knees for a few others.? He was thinking they might have to take off in a hurry and might just have to slow them down in order for the troops to get away.? But whatever solace they were to have would be found in the crossing. “Then all you have to do is wait then?”? Chase responded to his new comrade loud enough for him to hear and no one else since they were particularly close to one another. He listened to the woman then her ex and shook his head.? She was right as was he.? But he didn’t exactly have all of his things or he would just give them all some jerky and call it good.? Starting a fire right now was the least of their troubles as the scent increased and he started to become nauseated which meant more than one thing of the deceased coming their way…several more. (Callie Carson) "No fire," Callie said calmly. She tossed some rations to Etienne and settled down to wait. It was night and Callie sat on a boulder, sharpening her knife, keeping an eye on Etienne to make sure she didn't run, and that neither Chase nor Sicilian bothered her. She also had to concentrate hard to make sure she didn't look at the protective circle Flynn was projecting around them. She could only imagine how hard this was for him to maintain. She hoped it held, or they might find themselves lost, wandering in the desert. As she sat and busied herself, she suddenly noticed a foul stench, wafting into the campsite from the direction of Bendo. She ignored it at first, but as time passed she realized the smell was growing stronger. Then a grim realization came over her. Flynn had foretold this. Trouble, he'd said, coming their way. The only stench she knew that was like this was the dead, when they walked the earth. She sheathed her blade and picked up her rifle before walking toward Flynn, who sat on the ground, deep in concentration. She knelt beside him and leaned in close to his ear. "Luv," she whispered. "The dead approach. Will this keep them out?" (Flynn) The pookah didn't open his eyes.? He didn't need to.? The dead were like a toxic shadow in the dreaming, impossible to miss. ? "No, luv," he murmured, his half-asleep features looking sad.? "It keeps them from... seeing us... but that is all....? If they keep walking this way... they'll pass right through it."? He was quiet for a long moment, thinking.? Finally he murmured "One chance... move me... east... 'bout two hundred yards... everyone stayin' close.... I'll try'n keep the spell up." "But if'n that don' work... gotta fight..." he mumbled finally, each word seeming to cost him effort.? "Fight for your lives... axes're good... fire's best... sorry, luv..."? He then fell silent. [Sicilien] "No fire it is," the bounty hunter echoed, stowing the flint and steel back inside his coat pocket.? He stood straight up, raising his arms as he popped a few joints as he stretched out.? When Chase spoke to him quietly though, he didn't answer.? He only shrugged at the dark man, turning to look at him and then changing his gaze to something else in the distance.? His feet took him to the edge of the circle where he peered over the landscape.? It was quiet, almost too quiet.? Maybe a coyote bark somewhere off in the distance, but the insects and all the other creepy crawlies seemed to be gone and that was besides the fact that Flynn's magic circle kept them out.? And like the others, the stench too hit his nostrils like a run-away train.? There was no stopping it.? Whether it was nature or that damn manikin that was causing the air to waft their way, it smelled a feast of maggots upon a freshly rotten slab of meat. "Right then, doesn't look like any of us'll be getting that much needed beauty sleep," Sicilien called out, glancing in Etienne's direction.? Turning around, he headed towards her, enjoying how she flinched every time he came near her, but just as he got within 5 strides of her, he switched his bearing towards Callie instead and crouched down at her and Flynn's side just as he heard the tail end of this conversation. "Sounds like we need to get your boy toy the hell outta dodge, eh?" he said, gently patting her on the shoulder.? He turned to look back, trying to discern how far away the walking dead were, but there was just too much in the air.? The stench was just too strong.? Reaching out to Flynn, he grabbed hold of the man and pulled him onto his back, standing up bent over as he curled his arms around the legs and moved to wrap them around his waist.? Looking back to Callie, "make sure he's good and set on me, yeah?? Don't want him falling off, and don't think I can trust the horse to canter softly enough not to shake him awake, or drop him.? Someone'll have to pull 'em along.? Shall we move him 200 yards east?? You can tell me if that'll help later." - Etienne - Etienne wasn’t really paying that much attention to Sicilien and his games right now. She wanted to live. And unfortunately despite what she could do there was nothing that she could no. So that meant she had to think. As she stood staring at the edge of the horizon she said. “Moving him won’t help us. By the strength of the stench, there are too many to fight. Moving him 200 yards won’t stop them from finding us. We need to leave the area...completely.” Turning to them she said. “And the fastest and best way to do that are the horse. The bubble he created for us is big enough for our horses. There are five of us and four house. We strapped him to the lead horse. And then we strap our horse together in a diamond. That will keep them close. Sicilien you take point Callie you take the rear and the Big guy and I will flank the sides. And we head southeast. “ she said pointing to a mountain range. “That can provide cover.” “It’s obvious that Something is trying to keep us from where we are trying to go. So we have to make it think it won. Once we are in the mountains we can get a decent nights sleep, something to eat and come up with a game plan. It’s either that or we split up because I’m not keen on dying for a bunch of strangers.” Tag:? Chase, Callie, Flynn, Sicilien, Etienne, Charity (jumping in periodically) _.

Re: Port Vega: Meet & Greet Dinner (Aurora, Lightening Rod, Mara, Devi, Photon, Random NPCs)
开云体育(Aurora) Aurora walked to the dining room in the Benders of Light mansion.? All was prepared for the new comers to be introduced to the group.? She was glad to have a few new comers, it was time to start moving forward with the team and start making themselves known in the town of Port Vega. (Devi) Devilynn Josephine Shellito had never thought that she would have been asked to join a group of criminals. Well those that skirted the law. Still she found it interesting that she was asked. Devi had been thinking on her way home that night if she was going to wear a costume. She hoped so cause she had already decided what she wanted. The fact that she had already started to make one, didn't matter. ? ?Devi had gotten ready earlier and had spent the rest of the day going over paper work till it was time to go. Devi was always on time unless she planned on being late. Which tonight was not one of them. She made her way to her garage, got in her car and headed out.? ? ?It didn't take long to arrive at the mansion. "Well, at least I'm not the first one to show," he said, giving the tall polished doors an appraising lookover. He looked back to the girl, trying to assess her as well.? She didn't exactly radiate menace, which he found disappointing. He was hoping for more. "So, you here for the meet'n'greet?" he asked, trying to sound like he did this sort of thing all the time. Tag: All members of the Benders of Light. (Aurora, Devi, Lightning Rod) |
