The door opened to reveal a red-haired teen girl with gamer-goggles, arm-length gloves and an impatient look on her face.?

"Is it important?" Colleen asked.? "I've got the Dark-Side Armada on the ropes.? Three more ships and I level up!"? The girl glanced at Sadie who was standing just behind Del.? "Who's this?"

Gen hesitated, then revealed "I actually had some help escaping from a few of the scientists and staff who worked there.? As I grew, I guess I went from being just a lab experiment to being, well, a person in their eyes.? Or at the very least, a sentient being.? I was trained in a lot of things, including several of the planetary sciences.? And the more I learned, the more I want to go and see the things I was learning about.? Was that so bad?" he asked, biting his lip, as if still needing confirmation.

"I know a lot of science and math stuff," he went on, "but I'm still learning a lot of the, you know, social stuff.? How to talk to people and not sound like some kind of total weirdo.? I mean, give me the coordinates of any point on Mars and I can calculate the probable temperature and air pressure for that date and time, just from what I have in my head.? But ask me why people get uneasy if I ask them about their body parts and I don't have a clue." He glanced at Akira but then looked back to Mia.? "I'm learning not to do that, by the way."

(Akira/Mia) Mia gave Gen a smile after he had finished explaining. "Well, you are safe here, Gen. Akira will help you get settled and then bring you to the main office to get you properly enrolled. And I am sure that in time, with practice, you will develop your social skills and be just as versed in them as you are in math and science."
She looked at Akira then. "Please have him room with you since you are without a current room mate and he seems comfortable with you." He gave her a nod, "yes, Ms. Mia. I will also take him to the school store for some shopping of things." She gave him a smile, "yes, and I will call ahead and cover the expenses. Thank you, Akira. If there isn't anything else, I need to find Del." She waited for a reply before heading off to find her love.

She watched Hollywood go and suddenly felt very alone. It had been years since she'd spent time in this building, so she had to recall details from her time her so long ago. With the alarms sounding still upstairs and smoke filling the hallways here and above, she made her way to the staircase, far enough behind Hollywood that she didn't see where the other woman went. Emerging from the steps on the main floor, she saw more smoke and several vampires moving from the upper tiers of the structure toward the basement where they could access the tunnels.? The redhead saw the prince approaching, escorted by another being she had seen earlier but did not know his name. She walked up to them and looked from one to the other, "I'm here to help. We need to get the prince out of here. Where was the explosion?"
(Diego/NPC Prince) Diego paused long enough to look at the red haired vampire. "Near the throne room. I must go and see who else might need help, but I cannot leave the Prince." Diego said as he kept leading them towards the stairs that lead down to the lower levels. "We have a way to escape through the tunnels...need to get Prince Vespasian to them." Prince Vespasian simply shook his head. "I can get myself there, dog. You can go." Diego looked at the Prince with mixed emotions. He hated being under the man's ownership, but at the same time, knew that the Prince had to survive the attacks.
(Hollywood)
Hollywood exited the tunnels into the subway system. She made her way to one of the trains that was just about to leave. She quickly boarded the train and as it left the station she pulled out her phone and called Ari. She wondered what Eli was up to and why and how she managed to pull off what was happening at the Society.

Victoria went quiet at the question. There was so much she wanted to ask the wise wolf. But she didn¡¯t quite know how. So she just decided to take the bull by the horns.?

Ragnvall gave Victoria a smile, "I do not know, but there is a way to learn something. Your story is in your blood. Our shaman can use it to see what she can learn. I know that you have always wondered about your true family. Colin is your brother...your twin. So, do you feel he was adopted as well?" He asked as he gave a wave one of the others nearby and they headed off to find the villages shaman.

"We try to keep a low profile," she went on as they continued on down the hall.? "We try to let people like ourselves know we're here without being in-your-face about it with the general public. And most of the time that's enough to avoid any trouble.? But then there are always the Grays out there, lurking and watching for anyone they think might be of use to them, whether willingly or unwillingly." ? "I can handle some of them if I see them coming.? I simply make them have a bad feeling about where they are and what they're doing, like a sixth-sense is warning them to go somewhere else.? But my abilities aren't much good against someone who's aware and determined on finding us."? She turned to give Sadie an inquiring look.? "We can always use people who're good at alternate means of persuasion when they're needed." (Sadie Logan)

Draven gave his love a smile. "I will be with you as long as the physician will let me be." He hoped that would make her feel a little better about the whole thing. "We should go and check on Bridgett to make sure that Damon got her home, safely." He was a little concerned about it, but knew that the man was wanting to better himself and earn Draven's trust.

You were not birthed but created in a lab? No need for demonstrations. Were you running away from those that created you?"
Akira listened to the two talk back and forth. He was glad that Gen had found this place, or rather was brought in from the outside by one of their own. Who knew what might have happened to him, had he not been found.

Hollywood nodded to Scarlett, "Okay, you head to where you last left the Prince. I will head to the armory and see what is happening there. We will meet in the basement." With that, Hollywood headed left leaving Scarlett standing in the hall.
Once she was out of view of Scarlett, Hollywood headed towards another stairwell that headed up to the first floor. She knew she would be able to avoid the daylight. Once up the stairs she headed across the main floor to the south side of building.
As she did, she could see Diego leading the Prince towards the stairs that would lead to the basement. She gave her old friend a nod before headed down the opposite stairs. She knew that Diego would get the Prince to safety, and then make his own way out. This was his chance to be free and she knew he would take it and find her later.
She headed down the stairs to a gate that lead into the tunnels under the city. She looked around to ensure no one saw her and then entered the tunnels, closing the gate behind her and heading off away from the Midnight Society. She hoped that Scarlett would be alright and she knew that she would protect the Prince. For now, Hollywood had to find Ari and together they could find Eli.

Everything happened so quickly, before she knew it there was a loud explosion, then Eli had thrown her into Hollywood before disappearing out the door into a smoke filled corridor. She was about to go after Eli when Hollywood grabbed her hand and yelled, "Come on!"
Together they flew out the door into the nearly zero visibility of the hallway and they ran down the corridor until they arrived at the staircase leading upstairs.
Before they mounted the stairs, Scarlett cleared her throat above yelling they could hear upstairs, along with the constant blaring noise of fire alarms echoing through the Midnight Society.
"Hollywood," Scarlett said firmly. "If the walls are breached upstairs, its dawn. There will be sunlight and police and fire will be descending on this building. We need to find the prince and get out of here. This is not going to be a safe place for any vampire in a matter of minutes."

Sadie shrugged. She was normally reserved and even introverted, but she wanted to fit in here so she nodded, "I don't mind rooming with someone."

Then she took in a sharp breath and continued, "I'm sorry. I lied. My folks didn't disown me. I left them. I caused so much trouble for them. Gray and his goons, they tormented my parents to get at me. My father was framed for tax evasion and he's in prison. My mom lost the family business because of me. They would have done anything for me, but I couldn't let them continue to suffer because of me...so I ran away."
So many mutants had been disowned by their families, so she thought it sounded better than the reality that she ran away leaving her parents with their lives in shambles because of her. But it was the truth...her truth...and she needed to own it.
"Crazy, huh?" she frowned.

Ragnvall listened to Victoria as she made ideas and assumptions, but was glad when she made the decision to go and see for herself. "I think that would be an excellent idea. Now, what else might you be in need of?" He asked as they lounged on the large benches around the fire pit in the middle of the hall. It was always peaceful there and always seemed to be set in the past...even in the present. He didn't sound rushed and was enjoying the younger wolf's presence.

"Ah, well to be honest I wasn't around for much of it. I was there when she first learned she was carrying my child and for the birth, but otherwise, I was at sea most through most of it. Lily and I weren't actually together...more a sexual escapade if you would. I am sure that you will be fine." He looked around the room and saw another expectant?mother present. "Maybe ask her?" He suggested not knowing what to tell his love.

"Pleased to meet you, Ms. Mia," Gen said, nodding respectfully.? "I apologize if my... arrival... didn't follow proper procedure.? But I heard that your academy is kind of a refuge for mutants.? Which I kind of qualify as being.? Kind of," he added with an uneasy shrug.??
"I was explaining to Akira here some of the things I can do.? I was designed to be able to survive a number of different environments, including some fairly harsh ones.? For that reason, my body has the ability to change to adapt to those environments.? I can, for example, grow gills to allow me to breathe underwater.? I can modify my hands and feet to allow me to climb or cling to almost any surface.? I can grow wings if I need to fly.? And I can heal faster than normal if I get injured, repairing in minutes or hours what would normally require weeks or months.??

"My parents disowned me when I was 16. I have lived the past year on my own, working odd jobs,?traveling?from place to place. During that time Gray?approached?me for the first time. When I refused to work for him, he tried to have me kidnapped. Twice now they've come for me...both times I got away.?

"I hoped I could come here, learn how to control my abilities...to understand them," Sadie said. "But I don't want to make trouble for you or anyone here."

When she said she didn¡¯t want to hurt anyone. Eli pouted. ¡°Aww, bother. ?I don¡¯t know. I think I would actually love for you to hurt me.¡± She said flirtatiously.
¡°But if it¡¯s the truth you¡¯re looking for,¡± she said putting her feet on the floor and sitting on the edge of the bed. ¡°That¡¯s?a?very easy fix. I was hired to assassinate the prince, by the same people who hired you to assassinate the prince. Guess they didn¡¯t think you would take the job. So they sent me in as a back up or they sent me in to do the job because they knew you wouldn¡¯t do it. Or maybe even they knew neither one of us would do it and this is just some great big elaborate plan to get us all together in the same room.?
¡°Hmmm,¡± Eli said tapping her chin. ¡°Now, why do you think they would want that. I mean you are here and you are protectorate.¡± She said pointing to Scarlett¡¯s. ¡°And dear old mummy¡¯s here and she¡¯s the Prince¡¯s bodyguard.¡± She said pointing Hollywood. ¡°And I am here. The suspect everyone has their current attention on.¡± She said pointing to herself.
¡°Makes you wonder what that mean, right.¡± She said nodding. ¡°I mean if you¡¯re here,¡± she said pointing to Scarlet. ¡°and you¡¯re here.¡± She said pointing to Hollywood. ¡°And I am here,¡± she said pointing to herself again. ¡°then who is protecting the prince.¡±
Right at her words a loud explosion seem to rock the building, causing everything to shake and the room to fill with smoke.?Eli quickly jumped up. She reached for Scarlett, throwing her into Hollywood then escaped the room, closing the door behind her. Since the hall way was also filled with smoke, she was able to disappear into the fog.

Hollywood listened to Eli as she spoke and was about to argue that she was not the Prince's bodyguard, but then realized where the conversation was leading. She was about to push Scarlett out of the way and run when the explosion took place. Then she found the red head suddenly in her arms, watched as Eli ran out the door and closed it. Good thing it didn't lock.
Hollywood grabbed Scarlett by the hand, "come on!!" she exclaimed as she dragged her out of the cell and down the hall. She needed to get them to the surface incase the explosion was going to cause the building to collapse.

Everything happened so quickly, before she knew it there was a loud explosion, then Eli had thrown her into Hollywood before disappearing out the door into a smoke filled corridor. She was about to go after Eli when Hollywood grabbed her hand and yelled, "Come on!"
Together they flew out the door into the nearly zero visibility of the hallway and they ran down the corridor until they arrived at the staircase leading upstairs.
Before they mounted the stairs, Scarlett cleared her throat above yelling they could hear upstairs, along with the constant blaring noise of fire alarms echoing through the Midnight Society.
"Hollywood," Scarlett said firmly. "If the walls are breached upstairs, its dawn. There will be sunlight and police and fire will be descending on this building. We need to find the prince and get out of here. This is not going to be a safe place for any vampire in a matter of minutes."

Akira was just about to ask what Gen was about to say he could also do, when he spotted Ms. Mia coming into the cafeteria. He saw her pause and look around the room, her eyes catching the new student. "Uh, oh. Well, guess you are about to meet one of the one's in charge. "That's Ms. Mia." He pointed her out as she crossed to their table.
"Hello, boys. I am glad to see you are enjoying a meal. Who is your new friend, Akira?" She asked for an introduction. She wondered who let him in and why she hadn't been informed there was a new student.

With a smile, Akira said, "Ms. Mia, this is Gen. I think Liza was the one that found him. Gen, this is Ms. Mia, one of the founders of the Academy." He made the introductions.

"Pleased to meet you, Ms Mia," Gen said, nodding respectfully.? "I apologize if my... arrival... didn't follow proper procedure.? But I heard that your academy is kind of a refuge for mutants.? Which I kind of qualify as being.? Kind of," he added with an uneasy shrug.??

"I was explaining to Akira here some of the things I can do.? I was designed to be able to survive a number of different environments, including some fairly harsh ones.? For that reason, my body has the ability to change to adapt to those environments.? I can, for example, grow gills to allow me to breathe underwater.? I can modify my hands and feet to allow me to climb or cling to almost any surface.? I can grow wings if I need to fly.? And I can heal faster than normal if I get injured, repairing in minutes or hours what would normally require weeks or months.??

"I can give you a demonstration, if you like." He hesitated, with a sidelong glance at Akira, then added "If it wouldn't creep you out or anything,"?

Sadie brushed back a strand of long black hair from her face, now oddly at peace after her ordeal with Gray's men, and she turned to Del with a confused look.

"I..I don't know. I wasn't followed, but the car I was driving is one of?theirs. The men who were chasing me," she told this stranger who with her very presence seemed to have calmed the nearly frantic girl. "They trace it here. But I doubt they'll try anything. Not here. Not right away. They don't like witnesses."

Sadie looked around, then turned her gaze back to Del, "They want to use me as a weapon. They will wait until the time is right."? She closed her eyes, then put on a half smile and extended a hand to Delphine, "I'm Sadie Logan."

Del took the extended hand.? "Hello, Sadie.? I'm Delphine Montclair.? My partner and I founded this academy, for people like ourselves and you.? You are welcome here."

"It would help though if you could tell us more about your situation," she went on.? "To start with, just who are 'they' that you're referring to?? We're aware of a number of groups - and individuals - who seek to control or manipulate mutants to serve their own purposes.? We'd like to know if this threat is coming from one we know about or is an unknown source we haven't been aware of."
