I've recovered an old photograph of Mary Eugenia Katharine BIGELOW and Irene Gage BIGELOW which was taken at the Selby Studio in Baltimore, MD in 1914.? The two girls appear to be about 2-9 years old at the time the photograph was taken.? They are also referred to as "Rene and Maida BIGELOW" and "Jim BIGELOW Father" on the photograph.? Based on limited research and thanks to family researchers I was able to gather this information regarding the girls and their family:

Mary Eugenia Katharine BIGELOW was b. 3 Oct 1903 in Maryland to parents James Alphred BIGELOW (1873-1943) and Grace F. GAGE (1875-1951).? Irene Gage BIGELOW was her only sibling.? The family was living in Edesville, MD when the girls were in their teens.? Mary married John L. PIERCE and they had a son, John L. PIERCE born in 1926.? Mary died 9 Aug 1986 in Virginia Beach, VA.

Irene “Rene” Gage BIGELOW was b. 13 Jun 1911 in Rock Hall, MD and married twice.? Irene’s first marriage was to Robert Harvey FREUND (1910-1960) in 1937 in Baltimore, MD and they had one son, James Robert FREUND.? Her second marriage was to Clarence Scott ANDERS (1915-1998) who she married on 3 Jul 1971 in Baltimore, MD.? Irene died 29 Nov 2002 in Salisbury, PA.? At the time of her death her son James was living in Fogelsville, PA, though he may have later moved to Orefield, PA.

Their father James “Jim” Alphred BIGELOW was b. 20 Feb 1873 in Maryland to parents John Whorter “Walter” BIGELOW (1841-1910) and Hannah Ann TOULSON (1848-1923).? James was one of 7 children born to this couple including Mary Elizabeth; James Alphred; Hannah Anna; Charles W.; Sara Emma; Walter Pierson; and Elma Rebecca BIGELOW, all born between 1871 and 1887.? Jim died 13 Oct 1946 in Kent County, MD and is buried in the Saint Paul’s Kent Churchyard Cemetery in Chestertown, MD.? His daughter Mary was living in Long Island, NY at the time of her father’s death.

In 1920 the girls were living in Baltimore, MD with cousins Mary J. and Ella K. YOUNGER and possibly an Aunt Mary E. GAGE.
