My great great grandfather McCready married Jane Young who already had a farm in Caistor Twp. (Lincoln County, Ontario (near Niagara Falls). The his son Andrew married Lilian Young and I have no idea of her background. but they took over the farm and stayed there their whole lives. Finally, my maternal Grandmother was the daughter of Joshua Young and Clarisa Shaw. All three Young families completely stump me as I search. Joshua Young according to some records seems to have been born in Nova Scotia OR New Brunswick Canada (have seen both).
I have wondered how Jane Young came to have a farm in the early 1800s. Was she a widow or did her father have the farm? A book on Lincoln County tells me that James McCready worked on the farm and married the owner Jane Young.
