Intermediate Yiddish class online, join our Yiddish listserv

I'm forwarding this note from Ellen Muraskin about her Yiddish class online:

Mitler Yiddish Class? Sheva Zucker's Volume II, other details

Tayere Fraynt:

So here's the deal: If we get, say, seven truly interested folks from among my Yiddish lib-hober fraynt in NJ and MA, I can lead an "intermediate" Yiddish class that would start late Oct - Early November, run for eight sessions at a time, cost $80 to non-members of Adath Shalom, and take place Wednesday afternoon, say 2 or 3 or 4, or evening at 7:30.

Some of you have already used this book, which runs around $40.? I would also make use of other materials found on the web, of which there are many.? We're still via zoom, and there's still heymarbet.

Please let me know if you'd like to participate,? and whether afternoon or evening works better.? Meantime, there's a great Yiddish shmooze led by Asia Eizenkot, out of Los Angeles, I think, every Tuesday at two.? Here's the link:???? ? ?Not to be confused with the Yiddish open mike cafe out of London, which I sent a link?about earlier today.

Please let me know by, say,? Friday this week.??

Zayt mir ale gezunt un shtark,
Ellen

Also, I apologize that I've been neglecting this group that I started! Below is another chance to join. We could even practice our Yiddish in the email group -- it's an intermediate group for the most part.

Rebecca

Hello,

You have been invited by Rebecca Pomerantz to join the 开云体育 group?[email protected].

The following message was included by Rebecca Pomerantz:

After the Worker's Circle week-long retreat "Trip to Yiddishland" ended in Aug 2023, we wanted a way to keep in touch easily, debrief, let each other know about Yiddish language and cultural events, etc.

I'm sending this to as many participants from Trip to Yiddishland this?year as possible. Please feel free to let others who were there know about this group.?
?
Besides staying in touch and posting about events, we could also communicate here about Covid cases after camp. Since 6 people went home after testing positive during the week, and I myself know 8 more cases so far after that, it seems important to check in with each other about that. We hope to be able to have input into the future Covid policy at Yiddishland. (For now, I'm not including Yiddishland staff or teachers/leaders here, though it would be easy to start a different wider group after we debrief.)
?
To be able to write to and receive emails from this group, please?follow the directions here, below,?or write a blank email to?[email protected]
