Friday Yiddish Schmooze, Zoom talk, this list

Yes, our Friday Yiddish Schmooze is on EVERY Friday at 2:00 p.m. at this link. It's low intermediate level.

And yes, Shelley, I am interested in your talk and I think others would be, though we need to know the timing. I suggest that you send the information with a link to the Zoom talk to this group here.?

There are currently 8 people on here:?
Rona Amichai
Sherry Marlowe?
Shelley Greenspan?
Marnie Manning?
Mac Harris?
Karen Travis?
Mark Shifman?
Rebecca Pomerantz?

I'm pretty sure we are all intermediate Yiddish students from Trip to Yiddishland, though there's no reason not to expand it. How should we use this list? Who else should we reach out to??

Of course we can stay very informal, but if people want to write something in Yiddish (transliterated or not), that might be good practice for us all...

Other ideas? Perhaps someone is feeling motivated to write in Yiddish right now?

Thanks Rebecca!? It's been awhile since I joined our group on Fridays.? Are you still meeting at 2pm?? Le me know if you would have any interest in joining a Zoom talk I will give (In English!) on my father's experiences as a slave laborer in the Hungarian military during the Holocaust.? I will send you the link if so.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and peaceful 2024!

Best,

Shelley

Just got back" from "attending"?Yiddish New York, virtually, but all day, every day! Sorry I didn't write a message beforehand to encourage y'all to "go". I did see Karen at one point. The late night Literary Salon was a free part, very off the wall. I majored in daytime language classes and lectures on culture, history, and folklore. I'll watch the films separately, and a bunch of classes that I couldn't do with only one tukhas.

Here's the rundown of daytime talks. Take a look, or not, or look only at what I highlighted in amber. (This is not even mentioning the language classes or the music classes or the lunchtime or evening concerts and singalongs.)
