Hi Richard, When I saw your photo of this pigeon, my first thought was of a Torresian Imperial Pigeon.? I saw many in Cairns, Australia (Queensland) three years ago.? ?Upon looking in my Australian field guide, I realized that the eyes,? Bill, and foot color is wrong, as is the uncertain.? Australia was still in my head, so I looked at the other pigeons and doves.? The White-headed Pigeon has has red feet, Bill, and eye--ring that is exactly the same shape as your pigeon.? However, it's wings are entirely black.? All we can see is white on the wings of your bird.? I also saw the White-headed Pigeon ain Australia at O'Reilly''s (inland from and higher elevation than Brisbane). I think Walt is correct that it is a "domestic" which I interpret to mean "bred for bird cages", and probably of mixed species origin.? ?Additionally,? one of the "mixes" could well be a White-headed Pigeon. Thanks for sharing, Karen? On Sat, Sep 11, 2021, 18:23 Walt Anderson <waltandersonAFC@...> wrote:
