Locked Magnolia Warbler

Here is a posting of Dr. Carl Tomoff's?great?sighting of a Magnolia Warbler along the Peavine trail yesterday.? Carl requested we post this.? Good birding!

? "I watched this warbler foraging among dense deciduous foliage 10-20m away along the Peavine Trail southeast of Watson Lake from 0845-0905. When I heard a call note I didn’t recognize, I stopped near a trailside bench just north of the major powerline corridor crossing the creek. I used 10x42 binoculars. The sun was behind me. At times the bird was fully exposed. I saw a white eye ring, two thin wing bars, lower belly to undertail coverts and under tail feathers halfway to the dark terminal band. Its lower belly, chest, and throat were yellow. Its yellow flank had thin black streaks. Its head and wings appeared grayish. About 0920 I alerted a group of birders who were also able to observe it. This is my first sighting of Magnolia Warbler in Yavapai County."

It's me as messenger, again... reports?are that the Magnolia Warbler, first found by Carl Tomoff, is again along the Peavine in Watson Woods this morning.? It seems to like the shady area with the bench just beyond the powerline marsh.?

Hello all,

I went out to find the warbler over my lunch break, about 12:30. Went to the spot previously identified, but could not find it.?
Hopefully somebody else can pick it up later today or tomorrow.
