Locked Bird sighting

About 4:15 p.m., I saw two female hummingbirds come to one of my feeders. One was an Anna's but the other was definitely smaller, with some streaking on the lower, central throat and rufous flanks.? Green back.? I believe it was a Calliope Hummingbird.

Great, Karen. I've had a couple in the Dells over the years. One good thing to watch for is the tendency to cock the tail up while hovering (see Sibley).

Cheers,

Walt
