There was a male Barrow's Goldeneye in the central part of Watson Lake this morning at ~10am --- out from the main boat dock.? It was actively diving with several Lesser Scaup and a female Goldeneye that I was not sure of the i.d.
It has a very pronounced, crescent shaped white region between the eye and bill, as opposed to the more rounded white spot of a Common Goldeneye.? Also, the back/wings have more black than a COGO.? See attached photos.
