Silvine B&O 0-4-0t # 25 and the two other mystery 0-4-0t Locomotives. 2 are still Mystery locos of a unknown verified distributor of model trains.
Here is all three together in their boxes. Just so you know Ken sent me B&O 62 around a year ago. These two new ones # 60 and 62 are still the only two one of a kinds ever seen. Yes the request is still going for any catalog or Sales info on these two very different 0-4-0ts made by New One of Japan.

These models have all the hallmarks of a line of die-cast models imported by Aristo-Craft in the early '60's.? See the ad on p. 24 of the Feb. 1963 Model Railroader if you subscribe to their archive.? That CB&Q 1880's 0-4-0 might be the same mechanism as shown on these models.??

[Reason: Both engines 60 and 62 have the same size and type box but with no retailers, or importers name name. #60 UP box enven matches the color but not the texture of the original Silvine box. #62 box it of a different color. I am guessing that they are Silvine locos.] |
Hi Dean, The CB&Q Aristo craft 0-4-0 was a much smaller locomotive and a switcher with a tender. The drive was completely different. The Aristo-Craft HO die cast steam locos were also made by the "New One Company" as was the two mystery ones 0-4-0 saddle tankers NH #60 and B&O #62. But these were not the only companies that imported New One made trains The Ho Train Company (HOTCO) imported a few, was also known as GHC. Offhand I know of there different New One made locos sold by them. The CNJ 4-6-0, the 4-4-2 Atlantic and the 0-4-0 Camelback.? Aristo-Craft had the most different models made by New One. Silvine had the side tank 0-4-0t they named Teakettle. B&0 #25 made by New One. This is the locomotive that make me favor that Silvine was the company that had something to do with these two mistery 0-4-0's. Favoring and knowing are two different things. So the mystery remains.

My last post here in April wasn't responded to and the Mystery of who released the two different 0-4-0 saddletank locomotives has not been solved. Somewhere something was written about these two loco's. The unique B&O #62, and New Haven #60 appear to be one off pilot models Or from a small first run with no follow-up main run. Till someone who knows says something.
