Hey Sean ? Mebbe' this was a broke? po folks outfit . Graphic art was a lot . Even back in those days ? I've been looking at PRR N1-2s on fallen flags ???? My God there's so many variations in appearance ?? As many variants as a B36 had prop blades !! Only one more Bowser PRR steamer to get . M1a !!? Henry?

Is it possible that Mantua farmed out its die-casting to Authenticast?? I only ever visited the Mantua facility once during an MER tour in the '80's, and I don't recall if they had any casting capability.??

I am getting into this about one year late. Sean is one heck of a train collector. His collection brings together all the old HO scale trains you can think of and for me he is the one who always answers my questions. I can't give anything but guesses to add to the text of this post, but i can add photos of the in question Authenticast box. Also I can add a question of my own to this conversation on this train companies box.?
First the photos; The box top is the interesting because it has more pictures. to left side are three of Mantua.s metal line freight car with colored, printed and embossed paper sides the gondola, the tank car and the reefer. To the right on the bottom is a Mantua 0-4-0 camelback, above it a Mantua old time passenger car. and last above it a questionable 2 bay hopper I recognize but don't know who made it. the box side have 4 more Mantua Locomotives a hopper and a bridge. I dont have the answers as to why those pictures are their. Only who made the Hoppers and the bridge. If you click on the small box top it gets bigger. Anyone else got any ideas. In Sean's opening post he gives the answer to the hoppers but maybe not the bridge. frank |
