muting or soloing pattern tracks when playing a song into a DAW?
Hi. Does anyone know a way to mute or solo individual pattern tracks whilst playing a song? ( Drums, Perc, Bass etc) I am not using the other 16 tracks so they are irrelevant. However I would like to record each pattern track in a song to separate tracks in my DAW. That requires muting the tracks or soloing the one I want during several plays of the song. Sync by midi clock works fine. I just cant seem to find a way to do this but I know I used to be able to on my old QY20.

开云体育Peter- In pattern mode, scroll left to the D1, D2, PC areas and hold the -1 NO button down next to the parts you wish to mute. A capital M will appear, meaning you have muted those tracks. A +1 YES will solo that track (S) depending on whether you have silenced every other track. Did that help? Now, I have a request for all members. Could you walk me through adding effects to tracks or finished songs? Any ideas or tricks would be appreciated. Thanks.Gary On Mar 28, 2021, at 12:35 PM, peterplectrum@... wrote:

开云体育Which kind of effects?Reverb and chorus are easily adjustable per track. Variation effects can be set to system (all tracks) or insertion (to a single track)...then just adjust the amount of wet/dry for each track, or to a single insertion track (and check the box for the insertion track). Outside of QY you can pump an audio track thru any number of guitar foot pedals, analog synths, etc. Hope that helps. 开云体育By the way, the effect screen in song or pattern mode is the second screen (so hit song button twise or hit pattern button twice). One if the effect screen you have knobs for chorus/reverb/and variation. Also while on the screen if you press the menu button you will get options to open either the chorus/reverb screen to tweak the settings, or open the voice screen which allows you to modify the LFO settings and the envelope (except no sustain, just Attack, Decay and Release as I recall). Hitting song button again allows you to set the routing so you can send ?the added chorus effects to reverb section... If you hit menu on this screen I believe you have the option to open the variation effect screen to select and modify the variation effect. Main thing to keep in mind is that each of the three song/pattern screens will also change the available items in the menu, so just make sure to recheck the menu and you loop thru the song or pattern screens. ? Menu is always important to check as it is sensitive to whatever is on screen. ?For example in the 1st song window open the menu then select job the hit menu again and you can jump thru the job list faster as the menu is now a list of job shortcuts. This sort of thing happens alot in the QY and makes the menu system very deep, but also fairly easy to navigate once you understand the hierarchy of the menus (they are also listed in the manual I believe). Hope thus helps. ["The longest journey starts with the first step."?- Lao Tzu] On Mar 28, 2021, at 4:23 PM, Gary Snyder <garypsnyder@...> wrote:

开云体育I believe in order to mute/solo a track in a given PRESET pattern you will need to copy the preset to a user pattern first, otherwise it ignores the mute/solo in song mode.Going by memory, but I am pretty sure. 开云体育Thank you for that wealth of information. No matter how many times I read the manual and tried to apply the information, it was always hit and miss. You clarified it so well. Thank you!Gary On Mar 28, 2021, at 5:11 PM, Eric <erichemingway@...> wrote:

Hi Eric
Yes I think you are correct. And as you can't mute or solo even the user pattern tracks in song mode you have to delete the ones you don't want each pass. So, multiple user patterns required. I also have more than one pattern in a song which makes it even harder. In the QY20 you could mute pattern tracks in Song mode which is very useful. Cheers. |
