Hello,

I'm a noob, I was wondering if I could plug in the audio output of my digital piano (that I use for my headphones) into the input of the QY100? That way I can use the QY100 to play accompaniment tracks to practice piano.

I always find these kind of things confusing, and coincidentally I am in the midst of learning about this issue in general, but I can say that if you try it before getting a firm answer, ?make sure to (at least) do the following:

1) Turn Power OFF all equipment, amps, and speakers.
2) Connect all equipment, amps, and speakers.
3) Turn down the gain and the volume of the QY100 to ZERO.
4) Turn down output on all other equipment to zero
5) Turn down speaker volume to zero.
6) Turn Power ON FOR everything up starting from the speakers (destination) and working toward the QY100/Piano (source)
7) Starting again with speakers and working toward QY100/piano turn the output up by 10% on each device in the chain and then tap a few keys to test levels. ?Keep an eye on any clipping indicators you may have on your devices.?
8) Repeat step 7 by 10% until you feel the output is adequate.

I know this doesn’t completely answer your question but it is certainly the safest way to go if you were going to try it with instruments that you are unsure of the output levels/impedance.

The really best answer I can give is to fully understand impedance matching by reading this article, which I have not fully read yet, hence my somewhat vague safety first answer:

I just tried it "intuitively", and it worked. I may have done steps 6 and 7 the other way around - started at source and ended with destination - but I always kept everything at a low level.
