VSTi FM Synths )OPS Parameters (classic mode SYX) and REAPER

开云体育

?

I think OPS7 needs to be in “classic” mode, not “extended” mode.

Then you need to go to the SYX page and find a SYSEX dump (32 patches)

Copy (left-click, shift to select all of the sysex patches) and drag them to either A or B

Then there are a couple of parameters within OPS7 that are open for you to use in a macro controller...

?

i.e.

?

B:Bank Patch (has 0-31 values) – parameter 576

A:Bank Patch (has 0-31 values) – parameter 512

?

REAPER

?

Open the FX window for OPS7 – twiddle any knob within OPS7

In the FX window surrounding OPS7, left-click “param”, left-click “show in track controls”

In the main Reaper window, in the OPS7 track...

Right-click the new control

At the bottom of the list should be “VSTi: Chipsynth OPS7...” (left click on that)

This will start to show all of the available OPS7 parameters... the bottom of that list is an upside down triangle – left click that to scroll down (a long long way!!)

Param 512 is A:Bank Patch

Param 576 is B:Bank Patch

?

Now you can right-click on the control, show envelope

This will have a usable knob for selecting the patches (and presumably an envelope to draw in the MIDI or Track editor.

?

I found these from OPS7 running as a VST within Pluginguru Unify

?

In Reaper... not sure, but it must be possible through the midi edit screen to locate the above parameters.

B.t.w, I tried it for hrs now, but cannot find a way responding to MIDI

program change commands even in "settings" I checked the box to activate.

Tried standalone, VST2 and VST3.

?

While "Dexed" is VST3 only, in Reaper it?s possible to force it to

respond to MIDI PrgCh on any MIDI channel I like.

?

So, when you?ve found a way for CS OPS-7,- let us know please.

Otherwise it?s unusable in a combinmed soft- and heardware rig for gigging !

Thx for reply.
I got 4 emails w/ exactly the same content.
Is that intentional ?

According to MIDI program change commands,-

these should recall the dual-layer patches (like performances in original Yamaha DX7II) and not only "singles" in bank A or B.
And it should work in "extended" mode (too).

For DAW work, it?s not essential, for work in a keyboard rig it is.

The "dual-layer" patches, each together w/ it?s individual? FX settings, are what sounds best and need 1 instance (or standalone mode) only.

When using "single" patches only,- the free Dexed, as a VST3i plugin, is an almost perfect solution already.
Unfortunately, Dexed standalone doesn?t allow ASIO driver selection which is too stupid.
So,- bugs and misdesign everywhere.

All ask again -- have you contacted the dev? He's super nice, unbelievably detail oriented and wants his product to be good. Maybe reduce the frequency of "should", "bugs", "misdesign" and "unusable" when you're trying to get him to help, though. As a software developer myself, you're setting off my alarm bells, and it's not even my problem.
