It seems that I've heard that the DX7 can load patches made for the
earlier 4 operator DX synths. I don't know about direct dumps from one
machine to another but the sysex files might be compatible. That's easy
enough to check. Loading sysex from different 4 op synths might work
fine too. I read that one ( might have been the TX81z) would just ignore
pitch envelope information (it didn't have a pitch envelope).
