Re: VSTi FM Synths )OPS Parameters (classic mode SYX) and REAPER
I think OPS7 needs to be in “classic” mode, not “extended” mode.
Then you need to go to the SYX page and find a SYSEX dump (32 patches)

Did you shoot an email to the company which makes it? Because I bet they
can help you quicker than I can (or fix the problem if there's a bug).

thx for the link !
I downloaded and installed the demo.

Re: VSTi FM Synths
One of the things I learned early on – like back in the 80s – is that while the TX802 claims to be a rack DX, it’s not exactly.
In about 1988, the Yamaha Marketing nobs came out with patches to

I use Native Instruments FM8 software. It faithfully emulates every patch from my DX7II-FD and even accepts SysEx dumps, so I can transfer entire banks of patches at once.

Hi All,
I have a TX802 that I have been gigging with for years.? At this point, though, I would like to retire it to the studio 100% of the time for a couple of reasons:

Yes, you can connect a wire in place of the circuit board trace.? At the most fundamental level, that's what a circuit board trace is, a thin wire.? As long as the wire does not touch any other

Re: I accidentally damaged the circuit board
Yes you can.
Clean the area with IPA and scrape away the green laquer to expose the copper trace.
Solder a Wire between the two pins of the battery.
However, you must check the PCB on the

You can't loose and you can't change the 128 factory presets that are in ROM in bank A B C D.

I know that the DX21 used to have all of the factory presets stored in Read Only Memory chips, I could restore 8 sounds at a time into the internal RAM memory. Not sure about the 81Z, you may need

I recently acquired a TX81Z. I've been using the Edisyn patch editor

I'm curious if there is a straightforward way to

Ant, did you happen to measure diameter of both DX7 screws? The M4.2 I ordered won't fit lol ??♀?

Eventually this 'collection on screw informations' may be helpful to decide what kind of screw(s) one can take as a replacement...
I've gathered this 'informations' some years ago...

Re: Need help identifying DX7 front panel screws (1st)
As I said before, the shorter screw (on the back panel near the power) is 4 x 8mm. A 13mm screw will be too long here.
Also note, that the length of a screw is usually measured at the length of the
