Re: The 4OP to DX7 Conversion Project
What I've always wondered is if there's a way to create those additional
waveforms using a carrier/modulator pair so straight sine wave instruments
could get in the neighborhood.

Absolutely. I have used Dexed frequently for quick testing.

Re: The 4OP to DX7 Conversion Project
Hi,
The additional waveforms that were introduced with the TX81Z are ignored. In general not everyting could be converted faithfully. There are quite some bigger and smaller differences between the

Re: The 4OP to DX7 Conversion Project
Thanks so much for your work on this!
A naive question: how, if at all, have you handled the additional waveforms
on the TX81Z/DX11?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Re: The 4OP to DX7 Conversion Project
?... just followed all the links ...

I can imagine this is usable for softsynths like "DEXED" and others as well.
thx a lot for all your input and sharing !

The 4OP to DX7 Conversion Project
Hi,
Many of you may be familiar with one or more of my projects like DXconvert, The Reface DX Legacy Project (RDLP), or - from the early Atari ST days - YSEDITOR. These projects are still going. For

Re: TX802 + RAM5
Let’s not forget another great mode on TX802 (and TX81z) - Alternate Assign. It is interesting when individual outputs are used, and set to different stereo placement. It can be used with the same

Re: TX802 + RAM5
Even/odd configuration (= two whole tone scales) was probably inspired by pipe organ, where prospect pipes have C and C# side - two whole tone scales symmetrically located, to get well balanced stereo

I've been playing a piece of software called pluginguru unify.? It comes pre-loaded with dexed which is a dx7 simulator.? Unify can have 15 instances of dexed on separate layers each triggered by a

Re: FS: TX802 + RAM5
With two modules it's even/odd, unless you're saying that the TX-802 does even/odd played.
5 modules/keyboard is my pro-1 setup, BTW.
I still need to get my big rack set up differently so I can get

a-HA!
I know what you're talking about. That's "next note" rotation, isn't it?

Re: FS: TX802 + RAM5
It's sort of even/odd, but it's dependent in how many modules in the chain link -- two will do the even/odd thing, but it can get a lot more interesting if you have more involved. But programming them

Re: FS: TX802 + RAM5
I have a stack of K1000 modules and never knew this.
Knew they had several modes of rollover and midi, but never noticed they had even-odd.
Well, that oughta tie up another bunch of playing around

Re: FS: TX802 + RAM5
Actually, the 1000 series by Kurzweil can do this too, though it can get a lot more granular with it because it can do slightly different sounds on each note of the octave, assuming you're up for

Re: FS: TX802 + RAM5
Just an endorsement for the TX802, FWIW.
I bought a new one in 1988. Still got it.
I bought a second one in 1992. Still got it.
The TX802 has a note number response setting of ‘even’ or

Hi All,
I've been paring down my gear lately, and thought I'd pass these items by the list before going to eBay or Reverb.

Re: MUTEGTR lost patch (is it XG or General MIDI ???)
The only reference I can find to MUTEGTR is Yamaha XG and General MIDI patches. None of which were DX7/TX816.

MUTEGTR lost patch
Looking for a lost obscure DX7/TX816 patch. It's called 'MUTEGTR' (named exactly like that) and it was used heavily in a show I grew up watching. I've seen a patch list printout from the composer's
