Hi Group,

I am being forced out of my nice 2nd floor shack by a family member who
needs the radio room to turn back into a bedroom. I will soon be
operating from my old home in the basement.

Has anyone had any luck operating a FC 40 from a distance of greater
than the 15 foot control cable supplied with the fc 40. The FC 40 will
now be approx 20-30 feet from the radio depending on how neat the
feedlines will be.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi Bob,

absolutely no problem to use a longer control lint to the FC-40.
I made a 10m (30ft) long one and used it on many locations.

I bought an Apple printer cable off Ebay (see earlier post)
I made up a length of rg-8x and added a so-239 'barrel' connector
Installed some snap-on rf suppression toriods to both cables, just to
be on the safe side
Works like a champ
