FC-40 with Doublet Antenna

mi5utc

Hello group

I have just made up a doublet antenna, 102ft top with a ladder loc
from radio works fed by approx 30ft 450ohm ladderline connected
directly to the rf hot and ground terminals. The antenna inverts
slightly downwards due to my space restrictions and the dipole centre
is supported by the branch of a strong tree in my garden at approx
40ft above the ground. The FC-40 tunes from top band to 6m with the
exception of 10m. I am not too worried about 10m as I have an Antron
for 10.

During a good 6m opening on 21st MAY I worked 25 calls in 5 countries
in less than 1/2 hour with 59 + reports.

A simple and inexpensive antenna for the FC-40.

Hi Clive

I posted 3 images in the photos section. All I could show was the
ladder loc centre piece, the ladder line coming down from the tree
into my shack and the FC40 in situ on the shack wall. The wire on
the antenna itself is hard to see even with the naked eye never mind
with a camera. I suppose it helps with the stealth factor !

Ah well, never mind. it would be nice to see a drawing too if the wires don't show up well .... my 80m loop uses black covered wire, same photographic challenge!
