For those looking for ready-made extension cables for your FC-40, I
found these on Ebay.
Guy should have 12 left (at time of post) and is only getting $11+
including shipping
These are 25 ft long and should work according to what I've read here

Did you ask if they are shielded cables?

I worry that unshielded cable may suffer in a RF-hot
environment.

Did not email the seller asking if they were shielded or not.
Based on early posts in this forum, I went with the Imagewriter
extension cable.
For the price I figure I can always add clamp-on rf suppression if
there's any problem. Will probably add a couple even if there's no
problem, just to be sure.
