Looking for Replacement Sub Tune Encoder
Will
So I sold my FT-847 to help fund a IC-9700.? The ham who purchased it wanted to return it because he said the AM on the low bands had no carrier when the radio was keyed.? So I took it back as I was trying to be a nice guy and refunded his money.? Radio came back and the SUB TUNE knob was broken off and the face plate cracked.? Repaired the face plate (cant even tell that it was broken) and fixed the encoded shaft but the encoded internally is damaged.? Any one know where to get a replacement SUB TUNE encoder or do I now have to scrap it for parts??? Thanks,? Will - N7IPY

开云体育I believe you buy them on EBay. ?I bought a sub tune encoder for my 847 there a year ago....... ?Joe. KE9AJ? On Jun 30, 2020, at 12:33 PM, Will via groups.io <engineer1@...> wrote:

You can repair the encoder: open up the? four retaining lugs on the encoder? which will allow you inside, you can then clean and re-tension the
small pick up fingers and reassemble and refit to board. i have done that and it worked out very well. I have a pair of the encoder lying here but i suppose the shipping would be high from Sweden to you. Yaesu UK have them in stock but again, shipping would be expensive. Nils, SM7DVO |
