I used to use a remote rig interface on my TS480sat with great results or https://www.remoterig.com/wp/
The FT847 will interface but you will need remote controlling software as well, which depending on the serial number of your radio and whether or not you got the factory update (I did) will determine whether or not it's capable of bi-directional CAT (RS232) control.
The CAT interface even when bidirectional will not give you access to each and every front panel control so bear this in mind as far as remote control but still will let you do many things...
