Old love renewed

Kees Taverne

Hi all, well the title is 'Old love renewed', when I started with this beautifull hobby the first rig was a FT-290R and for HF an Uniden 2020. Every day I was looking after the FT-7 what a beaty it was (and still is). So I finally was able to buy one and....sold it again. Nowadays with al new modes, new frequencies (WARC), radio's keep on renewing with more and more options....So I sold all those newer radio's and bought an FT-7, an FT-7B and another FT-7 (with extra 10m band options) and roght now I'm looking for a 4th one to make a digital VFO and readout. I've seen soem versions over the Internet so I would like to hear which is the best, which is good documentated. WIll I create an FT-7 museaum? I think note but there will be some more I guess....

So If there is an OM with pictures, descryption plese respond in this topic and make the FT-7 alive...again.

Keith, Kees?
I still have 2 7b and one 7 on my shelves.
Also one frequency counter.
The Yaesu fp757 ft switcher psu, 7b and the fc 757 tuner (all the same width ) make a very nice combination stack. Compact and effective

There's one here that is well documented, I'm in the process of building it but it is taking a while with everything I've got on my plate at the moment.

And the software and further documentation for it (recently updated)

Hi Jim,

I'm still collecting hi. I have the FP-4 for the FT-7 and another brand PSU for higher amps. I have some ATU but mostly working with magnetic loop antenna's so the tuners only go outside due to the fact that I cannot place antenna's outside the house (due to regulations of the owner).

Hi Terry, thans for the information. I already found this and probably this will be the one I also going to build.
But first I have to gather all the items needed (and find the time). Perhaps others are also willing to build it?

FT-7 ! My old love too...

I have reconstituted a 1978 QRP station : FT-7 with FP-4 and FL-110, FT-224 and FT-221. Everything in perfect working order, strictly as of origin. I've so much pleasure with it that I even don't say I'm QRP. At least not before receiving reports.? ;-)
Antenna is a ZS6BKW 8m AGL.

You can see a foto on my page, under my callsign, on5fm.

I did see something on one of other forums where there are a couple building it, but can't remember where I saw it.

Currently have 2 FT-7's and an FL110 here.

One FT-7 and the FL110 in full working order and one FT-7 which is being rebuilt with a new RF motherboard and now the new VFO.
