Type M connector
Is it by chance a type N connector? You should be able to buy an adaptor for it.? 73, Jim ?VE1RB On Sun, Oct 27, 2024 at 10:37?AM Mike Charters VA6PLC via <va6plc=[email protected]> wrote:

5/8x24 thread PL259 vs metric 16x1mm thread
?
I came across info about missmatched PL259 from Aliexpress with a metric thread, almost fits but not quite
No personnal experience and never seen HF gear especially old Yaesu equipment that doesn't use a standard SO-239
My FT980 does use the standard fitting for a PL259

The manual DOES describe the ANT jack as a "Type M". This seems to be an obscure reference to the standard PL259/SO239 connection type. I'm unable to find it defined as anything else (excepting a completely unrelated automotive coax connection).

I am wondering if someone replaced the SO239 on the back of your rig with something else (N-type?, something else)?
