Unwanted DTMF on PTT

Chuck Reti All Messages By This Member #19150 My FT-60 is now transmitting a short DTMF tone when I key the PTT button. I can't for the life of me find any reference to anything like this in?the User Guide, searching "Tone" or "DTMF" or "Beep."? Not sure what made this happen, but I'd like it go go away, would appreciate an assist! Thanks. Chuck WV8A

It’s easy, but I don’t have a radio in front of me to check which key to press. I think it’s Function and 0 key. Look for the Atom symbol on the keyboard.? William Hutton #19155 You probably have the WIRES feature enabled. Look for an “atom” looking symbol in the upper right of the screen (if I recall correctly). Press and hold 0 (zero) to toggle it on and off. It’s not needed, even when accesssing some WIRES-X repeaters.

Sometimes a mistaken button push gets unintended results, and there's no "Undo" or "Back" function(that I'm aware of).? Next step would have been to simply restore from recent CHIRP image. Rudi All Messages By This Member #19157 There is a way to 'permanently' get rid of wirex. I did this for my ft60. Google it. It can be undone if needed. Also similar steps for the mobile radios. Rudi wa2nub
