Transmit pl problem

I am trying to access repeaters with pl on 443mHz. The pl is turned on and proper shift. I searched the pl tone with another radio and it came up with the correct tone being transmitted. But I cannot access the two close machines near me. Is it possible the tones level is too low? My Kenwood ht accesses both machines ok.

Thanks

I would check to make sure the tone is set on the transmit side and no tone on the receive side. ?Is there any receive light that comes on after you key up then release the repeater? Can you hear the transmission come through on the Kenwood? ?Do you have a +5.00 offset turned on? ?Receive on 443, transmit on 448?

Gordon,

I have that radio. the manual makes a simple job difficult. Be sure you are not reading too much into it.?
