Smart Search memories

Hello

I live in an area that is sparsely populated by radio signals of any variety.? I decided to do a smart search to see what was around me.? Unfortunately, I selected the "CONT" option, which keeps looking until it has found 31 frequencies.? I have had it running for quite?some time now, and the display shows that I have "caught" a whopping 12 signals.? It is unlikely that I will find 31 (actually 30; the center frequency of the search range is included?in the results).? I found in the manual that you could recall the special bank into which?the smart-search results had been saved, but the instructions assume that scanning has stopped.? If I hadn't chosen "CONT," I guess I would not have a problem.

The manual seems to be silent as to how to recall a partially-full "special bank" into which the smart-search results are saved.? Does anyone know how to stop the smart-search and recall the frequencies it found?

Thanks, and 73

You could use an HT or other radio to generate the other 15 or so frequencies you need to stop the search. Just key the ht on different frequencies long enough to get discovered

That's a pretty simple solution.? Elegant, even.??

Thanks and 73

You can force the scan to end rapidly by breaking squelch, either with the squelch button on the side of the HT, or by rotating the squelch control fully counter-clockwise.? This rapidly fills up the remaining search channels with noised will? once all channels are full.
