No TX between 146 and 148 mhz

Hi all.?
Dug out my ft60 after a few years on storage.
Plugged into cig lighter and fired up. Battery dead, bought a new pack. Received inserted and fully charged it. Radio switched on and worked well, but NO transmit on any freq between 146 and 148. This is a VK version so it should.
Tried a full reset. No difference.
Any tips or tricks will be great acknowledged.
Cheers
Ralph

I thought I was alone in putting my radios mostly in storage for years! I’ve had to re-learn FT-60R operation from scratch several times upon its typical once-a-year use.

Now that I’m retired, my FT-60R and two batteries aren’t. They get regular use and I’ve been able to regain my “muscle memory” for this model.

My FT-60R has never failed to perform, but I’ve done many resets to factory condition, as an aid to my re-education. I deliberatley do not use programming software and cables. I like being skilled with the keys.

My recently-resurrected 1990-era dual-band mobiles from various makers survived years of disuse in boxes except for the IC-229h. I recently added a used IC-2100 to my shack, mostly for the fun of it. They all compelled me to learn or re-learn the different button sequences.
