I can't get my FT-60 to Scan

I am having problems getting my FT-60 to scan. I know that scanning has worked on it before, and, don't know if I have set some deeply hidden parameter of something - but - now I'm having problems.? Here is a run? down.

1. I loaded a bunch of repeaters into the FT-60 using RT Systems' FT-60 Programmer.? I got that to work with no problem? They are in the main memory bank.??
2. Everything appears to be working fine, and, they scan as long as I hold down the MHz up or MHz down buttons, but, as soon as I let release the buttons the scanning stops.
3. I have played with the RESUME setting and tried Busy and Time.
4. I have checked and the Skip setting is turned off on all of the frequencies.

Scanning works fine as long as I hold down the buttons, but, as soon as I release them scanning stops.? Anybody got any suggestions.? I'm out of ideas. As I said, scanning has always worked in the past - so -unless I have developed a circuitry problem (which seems unlikely) - it must be a parameter setting somewhere that I'm missing

HELP!!

Check that you have got the SCN MD (set menu item 43) set to MEM.

If it's? set to ONLY,? the scan routine will only scan any memory channels that you have marked as ONLY (which presumably non of them are).

That did it.? I think I finally understand base memory, memory banks, skip mode and scan mode.??

For those familiar with Yaesu's FT-8800 and some of the other mobiles, the scan concept for the FT-60 is very similar.? Other Yaesu HTs like the FT-xD Fusion series and the old (but great) VX-8 use a different method.
