FT-70D or FT60

开云体育

My FT-60 is over 10 years old and still working. However, the keyboard is fading and I just had to order another antenna from Yaesu. Also, I dropped it and broke the belt clip. But, it keeps on ticking. ?I pondered on getting another FT60 , in case my radio quit working..

?

Therefore, I decided to get the FT-70D as a backup. There are a couple of fusion repeaters in my area.

?

My comment is – If you have no need for fusion, stick with the FT-60 as it is easier to program by hand..

?

I think the FT-60 is a better radio. I especially like having a separate squelch and volume controls. The battery is better. You get more extended receive capabilities and the FT-60 is built more like a tank.

?

The FT-70 has better audio. This coupled with the great audio on fusion, this radio beats the FT-60 hands down.

?

If I ever come upon some extra cash, I will probably get another FT-60.

?

These are just my personal comments, so you may disagree or agree.

Not only does the 70 sound amazing on Fusion, especially voice wide mode, I think it's the best-sounding Yaesu radio on Fusion, period!

I haven't heard anyone talking on the new FTM-300 on Fusion yet though.

Good info. Just avoid the FT-65 - a much LESSER HT than the FT-60R.
