FT-60R replacement battery

Aside from what Yaesu offers, has anyone had success with larger capacity 3rd party supplied batteries? Recommendations? Thank you.
73, Harris K9RJ

Want to double battery longevity? Turn tx power down to 2W, and use a Smiley 270 or Diamond SRH-320a antenna.

If you are not making it line-of-sight FM voice with 2W, odds are you won,t with 4-5W.

Want to increase battery life even MORE? Use an earpiece or mini-boom mic!

If you get a quality li-ion pack from anyone, you will need a charger that properly charges it. Batteriesamerica.com has been great for me for about 20 years.

I've made the switch to the battery tray and individually rechargeable NMh AA cells.

Me, too. 2700mAH NiMH - that’s twice the capacity of stock NiMH pack. Then improved my antenna - that makes it about FOUR TIMES battery longevity.?

Oh, and when I use an earpiece … What is the first thing you’ll do with the VOLume control? You will turn it DOWN. And what eats up batteries? Keying the PTT to transmit, and loud audio.

BOTTOM LINE: My batteries last forever … (g)

work-sat.com?

PS Want to see a great example of line of sight? Go to …?? … 2W TX power, $15 antenna … speaking to an astronaut whop was aboard the ISS at the time, 450+ miles downrange …
