FT-60, FT-60R

What's the difference between the FT-60 and FT-60R?
?
What's the difference in their batteries?

There's no such thing as an FT 60. There's either an FT-60R meant for North America distribution, or the now-discontinued FT-60E for European distribution: ?batteries and accessories are all the same.

Thanks, that's what I thought.
?
The front panel of mine is marked FT-60 -- I thought maybe I had been struck blind, but, I checked, and sure enough, front panel is marked FT-60 -- HOWEVER -- when I remove the battery and check the data plate it reads FT-60R !!? ?
?
Which explains why when I search for "FT-60 batteries," all I get are FT-60R batteries.

Life was much simpler when AM was king and radios glowed in the dark then along came SSB and transistors and it all went to hell. :-)

…and FT-60T version with band allocation for Japan market. All is labeled just FT-60. It was spoken already here:

…and several different builds:
USA A2U, EXP A1, EXP A2, EXP A3, EU B1, EU B2, EXP B3, EU C1, EU C2, EXP C3, EU D1, EU D2, AUS H1, AUS H2.

Even simpler before AM, but there is no going back, thankfully.
