FBA-25A battery case question

 

The instructions molded into my FBA-25A battery case state "For alkaline batteries only".

I have a handful of no-name NiMH rechargeable AA batteries that fit into the case.? However, these batteries are every so slightly larger in diameter than a normal alkaline, so, the FBA-25A slides onto the back of the FT-60 but will not latch -- comes very close but won't latch.? The FT-60 comes on with the case in place but the battery case is not snapped into the body of the FT-60.

Anyone have any suggestions for rechargeable AA's that will fit into the FBA-25A that are not so big the case will not snap?

Did you try transmitting? The rechargeable are lower voltage.

I have been using MAHA 2500 to 2700 mA nickel metal hydride cells since 2004 in my FBA-25 trays with absolutely no problem.

Currently I'm using?Energizer NMH rechargeables with good results.??
Commonly available at big box stores in my area.

I use eneloop (Panasonic) rechargeable batteries in the FBA-25 tray?and they fit tightly and will not latch without force.
 

The higher capacity NiMH cells are physically slightly larger. Try 2200 mAh cells.?

That has not been my experience with Maha AA NiMH cells the past 15+ years.
