Battery Pack Gaskets

The big question: what unusual conditions did the failing gaskets experience? Temperature?extremes? Mechanical wear? Solvents? Mine are as good as new.

Thanks for the responses.? I did check with Batteries America and they don't have them.? The gaskets dry out and crack, an moisture gets inside the radio in rainy conditions and the display fogs up.?
 

Granted that we SHOULD never need to do this but I've stuck mine in a plastic bag to keep it dry now and then.? Small hole and tape for the antenna port.
