Using Banks with the RT Systems software

Hi Mark

I saw your message: "I HAVE the RT Systems (ADMS) software, but I haven’t seen that I can do “banks”."

I think the way you use the Banks feature in the RT System software is by placing a check mark in the column Bank 1 for all the frequencies you want to be "added" to Bank 1. Then if you want other frequencies to be "added" to Bank 2, then you will place the check mark for these frequencies in the column under Bank 2, and then you can "add" frequencies by placing check marks under the columns for all remaining banks.

This way you tell the RT System to tell the radio to "group" these frequencies into the banks you designated.

I hope this helps. If anyone has any corrections, please go right ahead.

If you call RTS they will help you. Just sharing my own experience with them.

Thanks very much for your information. On June 17 a representative from Yaesu is going to be at the HRO in Oakland as part of their open house. I think I will be going and asking him/her about it. If I find out anything I will repost in this forum.?

I do not use CHIRP for my FT-60 but have down loaded it to chirp in case I would like to at some later date.? Chirp does support BANKS for the FT-60, and selecting frequencies to banks is done in much the same way as explaned by WN6WJN for his RT systems software, or for the FTB60 software from G4HFQ software (http://www.g4hfq.co.uk/)? that I use.? Just look at the left side of the chirp screen.? You should see 3 "tabs" MEMORY. BANKS, & SETTINGS.? Just select the banks tab, then your frequencies can be selected to banks by checking boxes on the displayed screen.

You are right . . . that's the way to do it.

When the RTSystems application is opened, it looks like a spreadsheet where you enter frequencies, tone, etc.? Over on the right side of the spreadsheet are columns titled Bank 1, Bank 2, etc., etc.? If you want a freq to be on, say, Bank 3, check the Bank 3 box for that freq.

I have my FT-60 set up for:

Bank 1:? Local repeaters and simplex freqs
Bank 2:? All 144 repeater freqs
Bank 3:? All 432 repeater freqs
Bank 4:? Local public service freqs (sheriff, fire, rescue, Coast Guard, etc.)
Bank 5:? SaudiSat SO-51 split freq operation.
Bank 6:? Something, I forget.

I'm with Joe,

Mine is set up for the areas of the country where I travel.
1 is for local at home
2 is for New England?
3 is for Florida
4 is for MARS channels

2 and 3 above include Coast Guard and most used Maritime frequencies for their ares.?
2 uses more maritime frequencies for the fishing and charter boat businesses and local fire department
3 the maritime frequencies are for the larger ports that handle container ships, yachts, and coastal channels.

All fun stuff.
