My SilverWing uses an AGM battery, I added a lighter socket and run my HT with it. Wouldn't take much to rig up a case for it with a plug to fit and have a portable supply. 12V 11AH WT.10lbs around

Include a fuse between the battery and the radio. I have equipped a small sealed lead acid (SLA)?battery with a female cigarette lighter plug.? I can use the battery with any HT that has a?cig.

You certainly can connect a 12 vdc battery to the charge jack but you MUST remove the rechargable pack! It is a 7.2 volt NiMh pack and will be cooked by that connection. Make sure you get the polarity

I consider fast to be 1 C. Slow would be 0.1 C. I charge at 0.8 to 1.0 C. Maha recommends 0.33 to 1.0 C. I generally buy AA &AAA cells that are made in Japan. Generally, they should be of sufficient
