Re: No TX at low voltage
You missed the important point, that charge cycles aren't what matters, because with LiOn, it's the total amount of recharge, not the number of cycles."500" would only be if battery had been run dead

Re: No TX at low voltage
Hi, Halden, Thanks. I am doing a test now to see how good its battery is. I fully changed it on Friday and turned radio on at 8pm Friday. Radio is still on and working fine. According to spec, it

Hi John, You don't have to replace your battery.? Just break open the battery case and replace the cells inside.? Some soldering required.? There are notes on this forum about how some people

Re: No TX at low voltage
500 would still be only HALF of the nmh cycles. It's a no-brainer.

Where'd I get that number? That is what Yaesu cites in their manual for their latest HT - the FT-65. -- Clint Bradford K6LCS http//www.work-sat.com

Re: No TX at low voltage
Where did you get your numbers for Lion? 500 is the norm, with a big "but". A "charge cycle" for those batteries, is not number of times charged, but that it's a matter of full discharges, that is,

Re: No TX at low voltage
I have 10 Baofeng and FT-60 and some ICOM vhf radios. I find that Baofeng radios are quite competent and very cheap. I paid $25 for Baofeng UV5R and they are light, smaller and good enough for my

Re: No TX at low voltage
I sure don't understand the infatuation with lithium ion. Lithium ion will give you about 300 to 350 complete discharge-charge cucles. nickel metal hydride about 1000 discharge charge cycles. Yes

Re: No TX at low voltage
I agree with Frank. Stick with OEM (better cells) and practice full discharge and full charge to maximize capacity. NiMh batts are great if you keep them healthy. Way better than a knock off LiOn

Either way, you need a new battery. They can be purchased on Amazon for a good price. The ones I got are the brand name of Aimtobest and the model number is FNB-V67LI. It is a better battery than OEM
