Re: Audio Output
Wow ... I like how you think! I would not expect an Apple adapter to work in this case ... Has anyone tried it? I just uploaded a quickie schematic of the CT-44 to the FILES area ... Clint

Re: satellite ops
When the ISS passes over me - and I am NOT set up for APRS - I can hear its bursts quite well with a Smiley 270A or other 17" whip on an HT. Well enough to actually use APRS? Darned near ... OK - with

Re: satellite ops
Hi Clint: I see. Well, if the iss or sat path prediction cannot be made too accurately for weeks or months ahead, that precludes an autonomous remote system from periodically tracking a pass to send

Re: Audio Output
Are you sure? The US price for the radio is around $160 and the CT-44 is under $20 ($16.95 at HRO). You might want to check your dealer(s) again. 73, Jim K5JG robert_o_cook@... [FT-60] wrote:

Re: Audio Output
I used to use one of those "cassette adapters" that plugged into the 1/8" jack to run an iPod through the car audio. It DID work with my FT-51 and also my BC3000XLT handheld scanner. Made for really

I was curious if you can connect the FT-60 to the aux on an OEM car radio? I know most mobile radios have to much power and can either ruin the car radio or the HAM radio itself.

ISS Radio Usage
I am probably ignorant but it seems to me that we don't need APRS tracking transmissions from the ISS. With all the PC software and web satellite tracking services we know where the ISS is located. It

Re: Satellite ops
AMSAT-NA's Web site lets you see the next 50 passes for your grid square. But because the ISS repositions itself fairly often, it is best to work its pass data just a week ahead at a time max - as its
