Re: Mic Gain Adjustment
The Heil headset works fine here with both my FT-60 and FT-70.
Make sure the plug is firmly seated in the jack and the mic element is close to your mouth.
Also, the two ends of that tiny

Re: Mic Gain Adjustment
Have you messed with the TX deviation setting? That Heil setup has worked for me for many years.

Mic Gain Adjustment
Does anyone have a suggestion for adjusting mic gain on the FT-60? I need to increase it to use a Heil HTHY headset.

Re: Headset
I put the Heil HTHY on my Yaesu FT-60. The earpiece sound quality was very good. However the mic gain was low based on the signal reports I received. Since the FT-60 doesn't have a mic gain setting, I

Re: Looking for review of earpiece lapel mic SSM-518A

Looking for review of earpiece lapel mic SSM-518A
I'm looking for a new microphone for my FT 60 for use in the car and since I'm pretty deaf in one ear I thought this lapel mic earpiece might be a solution. Has anyone used it? What can you say about

Hi Jayne,
I am no expert, but some chargers for Nicad and NiMh cells turn on the "charged light " - which may be green color, when the battery voltage exceeds a certain threshold. These chargers do

" Once it drops below 7.6V I can't transmit. This just seems rather odd, "
I don't think that is normal.? Under load, you really can't expect 6x NiMH to maintain over 7V.
My problem is that no

Re: life expectancy of HT in general
The reading when I turn the HT on straight off of the charger is 8.6V. I have it attached to a Signal Staff OSJ collapsible J pole. I use the standard FNB83 battery. I'm using the standard Yaesu drop

Re: life expectancy of HT in general
Sounds like bad batteries or a bad charger.
When you first turn the radio on, what battery voltage do you read?
I have 2 FT-60s. They both have been charged in the last few weeks, but not used since
