Re: PowerPoles - Not for Permanent Installations
I just use Walmart battery automotive disconnects and mostly spade lugs at
varying current capacities ( things you can easily get anywhere =)
Necessity versus engineering /-)

Re: PowerPoles - Not for Permanent Installations
I am not condemning genuine Anderson Powerpoles. Nor their use by the
amateur radio community. I, too, have used them for commercial clients (from
our 15-20AH models, to those used by Crown forklift

Re: PowerPoles - Not for Permanent Installations
You had an isolated issue, you cannot state "Not for Permanent Installations" because you had an issue.
I have worked with these for years in industry, they are used in mission critical UPS systems,

Yes, I¡¯ve never heard this about PowerPoles until now.
If that were a post full of medical assertions, I would ask for supporting evidence from peer-reviewed publications. I¡¯m not sure if the

PowerPoles - Not for Permanent Installations
A note on PowerPoles ... if not "used" (connecting/disconnecting) often, they
can develop resistance in that two-spring contact. Enough to slow or even stop
100-200mW loads.
Look at a cross-section

Re: Andersen PowerPole connector?
A fuse is appropriate between the barrel connector and the Andersons.
Other than that, I think using the red & black Andersons for "12V" power is
as much as standard as 120 VAC plugs and outlets

Re: Andersen PowerPole connector?
Interesting point, but if it were mine I wouldn't be worrying, I - and all my club and ARES friends - use them only on 12v.

Re: Andersen PowerPole connector?
It is an HT ..... but if you want to make it universal with all of your
Anderson Power Pole stuff use the same connector and FUSE the power cord
correctly for the device /-) Ht ... two amps /-)

Is there "failure to communicate" here?
I'm not sure I want to solder the bare leads of a Yaesu E-DC-6 to some

Re: Andersen PowerPole connector?
Thanks for the DC connector link. Any recommendations for a ferrite choke
that should be used on the homemade FT-60R DC power cord to suppress noise
when using in my running car?
